My family and i have been coming to El Patio Drive in for over 20 years. It is a small Mexican resteraunt hidden on Lincoln. They are one of my all time favorite spots for authentic Mexican cuisine and they have my favorite rolled taquitos with guacamole. The employees are always welcoming and friendly and always make sure our orders come out quick. I do have to be honest and say the surrounding business aren't the best and parking is often hard to find if you go on a weekend .But i assure you that the food is definitely worth checking out. I LOVE this place very colorful like Mexico...been coming here since I was 15 years old...and the only thing that has changed are the prices hahahahah!!!! I only come here at night because the night chefs at this place truly get down and are masterful in their craft!!! The food is very good. I crave their shredded beef tacos. The beans and rice are delicious. Best chili rellenos I've ever had, plump and juicy. They put like a little bit of chili Colorado meat on the top. The meat is always tender and lean. The chili Verde burritos are very filling and enough for two people. The tortillas taste homemade. The best thing hands-down about this place is their salsa. It reminds me of the salsa at this little Mexican restaurant in Cerritos. It was called the Red Chili and it was in the Home Depot parking lot by the old Spires restaurant. Sadly it's no longer there. I think there's an In-N-Out where Spires used to be. Anyway the salsa at El patio is very much like that. Their soups are delicious, I've tried the albondigas and the posole. They have Menudo on the weekends until they run out. Inside: ordering menu board. Menudo is served only on Saturday and Sunday's until qualities last. Y'all can dig in. I'm solid. Pozole is where it's all. Ample and spacious seating inside. Great source of imported Mexican drinks and norm US genre. Plus a nice selection of imported Mexican ice cream. I miss the nostalgia of the first El Patio In, aesthetics was horrendous and the inside didn't. Cramped ordering window, very few booths. If you got one. Most odds it was dirty, lol. Ahhh! I feel the food in flavor and in serving has declined. The heart that once the original location had this lacks. Truly a shame. I phone ordered. Reiterated the order and red back. Upon arrival I re-mention and red back. Figured all good in Yelp paradise. We ordered One three chicken enchiladas in red sauce. Instead it was beef and dry. Bad move, amigos. The hot sauce that comes with it. I could drink. I had the epic Chile relleon burrito. I'm waiting for the feels. I'm waiting to cry, or being transported back to the first location only to be rudely reminded that once this was our family staple and one we supported it being family owned. I was craving Mexican food decided to try somewhere I've never ordered from. I ordered via DoorDash. I ordered the 2 chicken hard taco plate. I specifically said only beans no rice. What do I get all rice no beans!!! Obviously a bad first impression won't order again. The tacos tasted ok nothing amazing just ok. The red salsa tasted ok as well. Who ever handling these orders need to read the special instructions better or maybe have the options changed on the menu to prevent incorrect orders like mine. I would even give it a pass if it was a big burrito but seriously The cost amount to make this burrito is less than $2. Coming from a restaurant industry I know my cost. So you double the price which makes it $4 and that covers your overhead. Add another 50% for profit and you have a $6 burrito at best making great profit.
