The tortillas or the only reason they get one star! Smh ordered steak got some reheated sad shredded beef ! Not flame grilled steak ! I also got chicken smh it was decent but the burrito meat is unforgiving

We have loved this place since they were in Rockville Rd. New location, bigger space, plenty of street parking. Same awesome staff. They still serve the best homemade tortillas. I ordered carne asada burritos and it was delicious. They give you complimentsry chips and salsa. The green salsa was my favorite.

Called in a order for a super carne asada burrito. I removed the guacamole, onions, and lettuce. The burrito is just full of rice and maybe a small scoop of meat on one side of the burrito/ towards the bottom of the burrito. Very disappointing despite the reviews and pictures of previous burrito's. Hoping it was just an off day.

Ambiance Restaurant is in the location where Crepes & More used to be. A fresh coat of paint makes the place look refreshed. Upon arrival there were a few napkins on the floor and our table needed cleaning but otherwise the place was clean. Service The wait for the meal seemed long but that could have been because I was starved. Lol. The server was obviously inexperienced and didn't know the answer to questions about the food. She also didn't disclose that the requested condiment would cost $2. She didn't smile or seem to be enjoying the job. The staff from the kitchen appeared friendlier - thanking customers for dining. I was impressed however with the server's ability to remember our order without writing it down. Sorry I didn't get her name but she was young and working the tables alone. Food The hubby had menudo and I had a carne asada burrito. The tortilla was light, fresh, and homemade! I don't typically care for tortillas off the grill because they can be thick and dry/overcooked. Not here! There could have been a little more meat in the burrito but it was delicious and the ingredients blended well. Two salsas (red and green) were brought to the table with a small amount of chips. The green salsa was a little spicier (and I like that) than the red but it had an ingredient that caused my palate to overact so I stopped eating it. The red is usually my favorite salsa but here it's very watered down without much flavor. So I requested jalapeños on the side which were served refrigerator cold. Hubby's menudo was served steaming hot and he said it was delicious! Said it was the way menudo was supposed to be. Lol. Overall a good dining experience, and we plan to visit again.

    Breakfast burrito

It's been well over 20 years since I last visited El Pitayo and I remember how amazing their quesadillas are. Since their relocation, it's easier to visit and just as delicious as I remembered it. This location is large and spacious, plenty of tables and can easily accommodate a large party. There's a large parking lot next to the building and street parking. When we arrived there was only a handful of people, we were instantly greeted and were asked to choose our own seats. The dining area was clean and well kept. The service was friendly and we ordered the breakfast burrito and menudo with hominy. The menudo was amazing and had the perfect depth of flavor that I've been craving for. I also ordered the horchata and it was delicious. The breakfast burrito was huge and worth every penny. I will for sure come back!

Tacos. Carnitas, shredded Chicken and Carne Asada
    Teri G.

Loved it. Had to try different tacos. I usually get carnitas. But that carne asada was on fire. And the homemade tortillas - oh my! Homemade salsa/ yes. Great place to eat.

Super burrito!!! It's my jam! Add homemade tortillas and special Carne asada and you have a bit of heaven!

First off I have to say the service is outstanding. I had a group of 16 people and we were all looking for a good place to sit down and eat and I wanted to go to this restaurant but it was closing in 30 minutes. I looked on yelp to find other Mexican restaurants I felt I could share with my friends and did not find anything. I figured I would call Eddie and see if he could fit us in with 28 minutes left before closing. Not only did Eddie let me know that they'd be happy to see us, but he promised me that we could come in there take our time and not feel rushed. A few of us went out after our boys baseball game and we had a great dinner Not only was the service described above wonderful, but the food was excellent as well. Homemade tortillas and Carne Asada that is so flavorful that I encourage everyone to try.

Let's preface that I've ate a ton of burritos and this is probably one of the best I've had! From the homemade tortilla to the perfectly charred asada. This burrito hit on all levels! Amazing portion for the price and you will definitely leave full. Came with complimentary chips and salsa as well as a verde sauce (awesome) and better than the salsa. Service was okay and the restaurant is clean and efficient considering there was only one waitress. Overall a fantastic place and if you're in the area some of the best Mexican food I've had in awhile!

    Shrimp fajita
    Natalie M.

Wow! What an abundance of dishes! I needed to order to go and got a shrimp fajita plate. I tried some as it was piping hot and it was soooo flavorful. The shrimp were abundant and so so flavorful. This was perfectly seasoned and it came with rice and beans and tortillas! Wow! You can see the image that this is filled with flavor. Loved this dish and it tastes really good reheated as well.

Order for pickup. The super burrito was one of the best I ever had. I will come back and try eating there as well.

** They are now located in the downtown Fairfield area.** We love supporting this local family business. The food is always fresh, the service is always amazing and the place is always clean and welcoming. They use fresh, handmade tortillas which is always a plus. They used to be tucked off in a small little building but they recently moved to a much bigger location in downtown Fairfield. The place has a lot more seating but they still offer the same great food and service. Go support, you won't be disappointed. :)

Chorizo with Refried Beans & Cheese

Found this place on Yelp and decided to try after a jobsite visit. Chorizo with Refried Beans & Cheese was just okay nothing spectacular. The Asada Plate was okay, the beef a little tough. The service was good.

Stopped by for a quick bite. It was quite busy when we arrived but we were seated quickly. I ordered the sope with carne asada and gordita with chicharron. The gordita wasn't as crispy as I would've liked, but I enjoyed the sope. Hubs ordered tacos and a tostada and he liked them both. Kiddo finished off hus carne asada plate. The tortillas were good. Maybe because it was busy, service was a bit lacking. Had to ask for silverware and, when it was brought, not enough were brought. Also note - they charge extra if paying by credit card.

My husband had asked for his chimi to have red sauce and I had asked for mine with green, they both came mixed with both sauces on them. The red sauce wasn't very good and it was weird being mixed. My chimi wasn't very well cooked, kinda doughy in the middle. We didn't get a receipt so we couldn't reference the amount we were charged for each thing, but by menu prices it should have come out to about $55. Walking in, I was immediately greeted with smiling and welcoming vibes from the ladies at the front and told to take a seat wherever I'd like to sit. The hit for me is that MENUDO is available on a non-weekend! I've been craving it and when I ordered it (on a Tuesday), I hoped it would be fresh and it was! The broth was savory and flavorful as is but with the added oregano, dried peppers, onions, and cilantro to my liking- it just made it even better! The best part was that you can either order it with pata or no pata. Shoooot, you don't have to ask me twice! I said I want the pata hahahaha that with tender and not overcooked tripe was just what I was wanting! If you love menudo, this is a place I'd recommend and go to get it regularly. The MICHELADA MARISCADA is tasty! It's a mixture of seafood in a sweet and tangy sauce. For those who do not like spice, this is a great option. I was with someone who doesn't like spicy food and isn't a big fan of Mexican food but MAN! she killed the entire plate! So now we have a place that we both can really enjoy together. Will be back!!

It was about $60 for a to go order of 6 tacos and a quesadilla and a drink. While the food was good, not sure if the price was worth it considering all of the other Mexican food options nearby. Also, the tacos didn't come with any sides (rice, beans, etc.) which was unfortunate for the price. The In-Between: We found this place on Instagram based on a video review someone did. I asked to add jalapeños- they said that would cost an extra $2. That is crazy. I know food prices are rising but jalapeños are still inexpensive - I've eaten at hundreds of Mexican places - not one ( except Taco Hell - Bell- ) has charged me for jalapeños. So after taking my order he told me to come back in 15 minutes - like standing there and waiting was going to cost them money - how rude. Another bad 1st - being told I can't stay and wait for my order at a place I ordered from - WTF? Also the prices are too high - I can get burritos in San Francisco for $12 and they're great - as I did yesterday at a street fare - I thought $7.95 was too cheep for a burrito - but $18 in a small town? The burrito better be best tasting ever - writing this while I sit in my car. When I walked in the restaurant it was quiet - Saturday at 8:20 pm in the summer - was dead and it still takes them 15 to twenty minutes to make a burrito? That is crazy. So the ambience did not impress me that's for sure. What could improve? How about treating your customers who come into a place for the first time nice and not ask them to come back? How about not charging for jalapeños when every. other Real ( Taco Bell in NOT Mexican food) Mexican restaurant does not charge for them??? Update - the young man who took my order seemed like he did NOT want to be there - and was not attentive. When I picked up my order there were two women who were friendly and nice to me - so I added a star. The burrito itself - the beef had a excellent taste and the refried beans were good ( yes - I have had bad refried beans before ) so the burrito tasted good but on the bland side as no salsa was inside the burrito. Etc when the first guy took my order and told me jalapeños were an extra $2 I said no to the extra but did request extra salsa - all I got was a small - very small container - I like my Mexican food spicy - and this was not - tho had the potential to be great with some heat - spice - the salsa/ more of a sauce than salsa - had an excellent flavor but no the mild side for me but if had a lot of it - it would have worked as it did have a good to excellent flavor - so it gets only two stars - had excellent potential to be great - but initial bad service from the male staff and charging for jalapeños and very little salsa killed it - can not recommend
