The tortillas or the only reason they get one star! Smh ordered steak got some reheated sad shredded beef ! Not flame grilled steak ! I also got chicken smh it was decent but the burrito meat is unforgiving

We have loved this place since they were in Rockville Rd. New location,bigger space,plenty of street parking. Same awesome staff. They still serve the best homemade tortillas. I ordered carne asada burritos and it was delicious. They give you complimentsry chips and salsa. The green salsa was my favorite.

Called in a order for a super carne asada burrito. I removed the guacamole, onions, and lettuce. The burrito is just full of rice and maybe a small scoop of meat on one side of the burrito/ towards the bottom of the burrito. Very disappointing despite the reviews and pictures of previous burrito's. Hoping it was just an off day.

Ambiance Restaurant is in the location where Crepes & More used to be. A fresh coat of paint makes the place look refreshed. Upon arrival there were a few napkins on the floor and our table needed cleaning but otherwise the place was clean. Service The wait for the meal seemed long but that could have been because I was starved. Lol. The server was obviously inexperienced and didn't know the answer to questions about the food. She also didn't disclose that the requested condiment would cost $2. She didn't smile or seem to be enjoying the job. The staff from the kitchen appeared friendlier - thanking customers for dining. I was impressed however with the server's ability to remember our order without writing it down. Sorry I didn't get her name but she was young and working the tables alone. Food The hubby had menudo and I had a carne asada burrito. The tortilla was light, fresh, and homemade! I don't typically care for tortillas off the grill because they can be thick and dry/overcooked. Not here! There could have been a little more meat in the burrito but it was delicious and the ingredients blended well. Two salsas (red and green) were brought to the table with a small amount of chips. The green salsa was a little spicier (and I like that) than the red but it had an ingredient that caused my palate to overact so I stopped eating it. The red is usually my favorite salsa but here it's very watered down without much flavor. So I requested jalapeños on the side which were served refrigerator cold. Hubby's menudo was served steaming hot and he said it was delicious! Said it was the way menudo was supposed to be. Lol. Overall a good dining experience, and we plan to visit again.

It's been well over 20 years since I last visited El Pitayo and I remember how amazing their quesadillas are. Since their relocation, it's easier to visit and just as delicious as I remembered it. This location is large and spacious, plenty of tables and can easily accommodate a large party. There's a large parking lot next to the building and street parking. When we arrived there was only a handful of people, we were instantly greeted and were asked to choose our own seats. The dining area was clean and well kept. The service was friendly and we ordered the breakfast burrito and menudo with hominy. The menudo was amazing and had the perfect depth of flavor that I've been craving for. I also ordered the horchata and it was delicious. The breakfast burrito was huge and worth every penny. I will for sure come back!

First off I have to say the service is outstanding. I had a group of 16 people and we were all looking for a good place to sit down and eat and I wanted to go to this restaurant but it was closing in 30 minutes. I looked on yelp to find other Mexican restaurants I felt I could share with my friends and did not find anything. I figured I would call Eddie and see if he could fit us in with 28 minutes left before closing. Not only did Eddie let me know that they'd be happy to see us, but he promised me that we could come in there take our time and not feel rushed. A few of us went out after our boys baseball game and we had a great dinner Not only was the service described above wonderful, but the food was excellent as well. Homemade tortillas and Carne Asada that is so flavorful that I encourage everyone to try.

Let's preface that I've ate a ton of burritos and this is probably one of the best I've had! From the homemade tortilla to the perfectly charred asada. This burrito hit on all levels! Amazing portion for the price and you will definitely leave full. Came with complimentary chips and salsa as well as a verde sauce (awesome) and better than the salsa. Service was okay and the restaurant is clean and efficient considering there was only one waitress. Overall a fantastic place and if you're in the area some of the best Mexican food I've had in awhile!

Wow! What an abundance of dishes! I needed to order to go and got a shrimp fajita plate. I tried some as it was piping hot and it was soooo flavorful. The shrimp were abundant and so so flavorful. This was perfectly seasoned and it came with rice and beans and tortillas! Wow! You can see the image that this is filled with flavor. Loved this dish and it tastes really good reheated as well.

** They are now located in the downtown Fairfield area.** We love supporting this local family business. The food is always fresh, the service is always amazing and the place is always clean and welcoming. They use fresh, handmade tortillas which is always a plus. They used to be tucked off in a small little building but they recently moved to a much bigger location in downtown Fairfield. The place has a lot more seating but they still offer the same great food and service. Go support, you won't be disappointed. :)

Stopped by for a quick bite. It was quite busy when we arrived but we were seated quickly. I ordered the sope with carne asada and gordita with chicharron. The gordita wasn't as crispy as I would've liked, but I enjoyed the sope. Hubs ordered tacos and a tostada and he liked them both. Kiddo finished off hus carne asada plate. The tortillas were good. Maybe because it was busy, service was a bit lacking. Had to ask for silverware and, when it was brought, not enough were brought. Also note - they charge extra if paying by credit card.

First time here... enchiladas suizas were very good! Having tried them at many restaurants these were definitely the best. Food was fresh, a very authentic homemade meal. BEST Mexican restaurant in Fairfield (dare I say Solano County?)! Their delicious food and friendly customer service is always consistent. Bonus: the inside appears very clean (including the bathroom) which one can assume is indicative of the kitchen . Also, my husband and I have recommended them to other friends and coworkers who all agreed the food at El Pitayo is the best Mexican food in town. read more

This place feels like you're in the country, right by the farms, and the food is pretty incredible! Excellent and friendly service. My child is a vegetarian and rarely eats Mexican rice, beans, tortillas since lard and pollo cubes are used as seasonings in authentic Mexican cuisine. However, the owners told us that they're neighbors with the Sikh Temple, and kindly wanted them to be able to eat in this restaurant! So they truly have rare vegetarian options along with the carnitas and carne asada and handmade tortillas! That's a good neighbor! These are also the best chill rellenos you'll find in this county. Our family is from Chihuahua and we love authentic food like this. read more

Vegetarians: order the potato tacos. They are super good. This place is a little out of the way but super friendly service and very fresh food. I am so happy I found this hidden gem! I called for a catering super last minute and they had no problem accommodating my needs when I had been turned down by four other places. The food is AMAZING!!! when I went down to pay for my catering, the boy working the front was as sweet as could be! Even gave me a horchata on the house! Homemade horchata- not the powder!!! Heaven in a cup!! Its really hard to find places nowadays where everyone is so nice. Don't listen to any negative reviews about this place.... I work with 120 people and every single one of them LOVED the food. read more

Simply the best Authentic Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico. Food this good is hard to find even in Mexico. * Salsa is super tangy and fresh * Real Mexican style guacamole the whipped up kind * Pork tamale was so soft and juicy. Amazing * Hand made corn tortillas made the best taco I've seen. Clean and friendly to boot!!! Update: 2/24/18 STILL the best, freshest, most authentic Mexican food I have found outside of Mexico. Me and my wife found this cute place taking a drive. We were shock to find what we call now our favorite place to eat. The chile relleno is the best! The sauce is delicious, my wife always orders some of the sauce on the side because she enjoys it so much. I enjoy the posole and chimichanga. The carne asada is so tender and full of flavor. Tried the super burrito but it is so huge I never can even get done half of it. If you are looking for amazing food and kind service I recommend this place!!! read more

This place needs to be recognized!! It's just so hard to see this restaurant!! But, man oh man!! The food was so good!!! I got asada tacos and chicharrone tacos!! It was fully loaded with homemade tortillas!! They melt cheese on the tortilla and they also put the queso fresco.. I believe!! The meat was so good!! The tacos were a little spicy and it had great flavor!! Not to mention, the young gentlemen was extremely nice, so the customer service was great!! He even offered to help me bring my food to the car ( I ordered Togo) they do not skip on the sauce!! I also got the pollo corn creme (I think that's what it's called) it was very good! Spicy! I think my husband and I will be back again for breakfast Saturday morning!!! Please try this place!! Support our local businesses!!! read more

I was looking for some late breakfast on the way out of town and this place popped up on Yelp. I decided to give it a try and called in my order. When I picked up my breakfast burrito, the guy behind the counter was so friendly and appreciative of my business. That alone made me want to go back for more in the future, but then I tried the burrito! It was just a basic breakfast burrito but was sooooo much better than others I've had. The homemade tortillas are life! The price was really affordable as well. I'll definitely be getting more food from them. read more

I come here in the mornings whenever I have the time to have a nice breakfast with a Mexican coffee. I've also had the pozole a couple of times in the fall and winter months. Everything I've had here is beyond good and I recommend everyone I know to this wonderful and authentic restaurant. El Pitayo is literally the best Mexican restaurant that I've been to for service and for food in this entire area! Experience this gem for yourself, you will not be disappointed at all! read more

I wanted this to be a great experience, however, greatly disappointed is what it was. I knew we should've walked out the minute she put cold stale chips and a scant amount of salsa for two people on our table. It took her 15 min to take our order and another 10 just to get waters. The worst part, was the actual food that came out after we sat there for over 25 min. Cold watery beans, literally 1/4 cup of cold rice and my tacos which were okay. The service was terrible which made the whole experience that much worse. The amount of money we spent for this food, I should be leaving a five star review. There are entirely too many other places in Solano county to get good authentic Mexican food than to your waste your hard earned money on this pit! Yes, we could've went to any of the other places, but the reviews on Yelp said they were great! I'm definitely here to say, look at the not so great reviews if you want truth, I know I should've when someone said it was the worst place they'd ever eaten in 53 years! A very cool little spot located right in the middle of farmland. Is it simplistic in its decor, presentation, and service? Yes. Is that part of its charm? Yes. The only complaint is there is no cerveza or alcohol of any kind. If this place was BYOB I'd live here. Some of the best tacos and horchata I've ever had. read more

Awesome authentic Mexican food. The homemade tortillas came out fresh and hot. The guacamole was the best I've had. The mole sauce was deep and rich with just a hint of heat. And the chille Rolano had the right amount of heat and fresh ingredients. Only 1 waitress so don't go if in a hurry. But overall a great find! read more

This place is awesome. Staff are super nice. Meals do take a little while, as everything is made fresh to order. We had the chicken super burrito and Enchiladas Suizas. The burrito was good. The enchiladas were excellent! The sauce was creamy and flavorful. Will definitely come here again. read more

We went on a Friday night to find out they had no beer. So we changed our order to go, it took over 1 HOUR for our food to arrive. We we're offered a second round of chips and salsa but never a glass of water. Our party of 4, who live 10 minutes away, will never be back. Horrible service. read more

My husband had asked for his chimi to have red sauce and I had asked for mine with green, they both came mixed with both sauces on them. The red sauce wasn't very good and it was weird being mixed. My chimi wasn't very well cooked,kinda doughy in the middle. We didn't get a receipt so we couldn't reference the amount we were charged for each thing,but by menu prices it should have come out to about $55. The amount they charge was $80. $80 for 2 chimichangas,a beer and a ranch water and No chips??

I love this place!! I come here on a weekly, sometimes daily basis. It feels like home. The most authentic Mexican food in Solano county. Homemade flour and corn tortillas. I repeat homemade flour and corn tortillas. The best horchata I've ever had! The Champurrado is Amazing. Everything on the menu is ridiculously good!! This is literally like my mom's cooking. It's a family run business, they put their heart and soul into every dish. I will support a business like this over a chain restaurant any day. This is my favorite Mexican food place to go to here in Fairfield!! I always get the vegetarian burrito and let me tell you, it can feed a whole family because of how big the super burritos are...except I'm David and I eat a lot (haha). Eddie, the owner and food server is very attentive and polite. The workers there make the environment pleasant to be in by providing neatness, quality of food and soft music.
