Literally the only Peruvian restaurant that populated near Riverside. I'm a huge fan of Peruvian food, Mario's place on Melrose is the GOAT. Not gonna lie this spot did it for me, the food was solid, the green sauce wasn't on point or spicy. The ceviche was wonderful, as well as the portion sizes. I will be back to try other dishes.

This is an awesome Peruvian place for Corona. I worked in (my opinion) THE BEST Peruvian restaurant in SoCal called El Pollo Inka (4 locations in LA County; Hermosa Beach is my favorite). This is what I rate the dishes i had here: Lomo Saltado 3.8/5, 1/2 chicken with rice and salad 3/5, Ceviche de Pescado 5/5, and sauces (ají and what looked like huancaina 2/5. The lomo was flavorful with decent meat and the rice for all dishes was great! The chicken I had was very dry and seasoning just not my favorite. The salad had no dressing and was old lettuce so I didn't even bother trying it. Ceviche was by far my favorite and I'd come back for that. It's a mom and pop place so don't expect a fancy, romantic restaurant. They have really good dessert options and I'm curious to try their soup as well so I'll definitely be back for more!

Lomo Saltado $12.50 and Tallarin Verde $8 with medium rare steak +$4.50. Called for pick up and order was ready by the time we got there. This dinner was such a treat! They take credit card, which is a plus. They separate the dipping sauce so your food doesn't get soggy by the time you get home.

This is a Peruvian restaurant just down the street from the Kaiser Permanente Ontario. The…read morerestaurant is smaller but can accommodate larger groups. The dining area is a very clean and comfortable. Once seated, an aji verde salsa and cancha was brought to the table. The cancha is a nice touch, the corn is crispy and light. I ordered the Pollo Saltado with an extra portion of rice and a Chicha Morada. The beverage was very refreshing. The meal came out quickly. The chicken was tender and well seasoned with soy without being too salty. There was a fair amount of onions and tomatoes which were stir-fried along with the meat. The fries were freshly made with a light crispy exterior and creamy interior to soak up the saltado sauce. The aji verde salsa was on the spicy side but tasted good as an accompaniment to the dish. There was plenty of sauce from the stir fry for the extra portion of rice I ordered. I plan on ordering the Lomo Saltado next time. The staff were polite and efficient. Plenty of parking in their lot. Definitely on the list for the next time I am in the area.

It was our first time at Picante! It's very rare to have a good Peruvian restaurant in this area,…read moreand we were a bit hesitant, but definitely glad we swung by! Parking is very easy and ample. We walked into the restaurant and were greeted by their workers. There was a nice lady who seated the four of us towards the back. They had an AC machine blasting cold air in the back, and it was definitely needed on such a hot day. She was quick to give us waters, and after five minutes, she quickly came back to take our orders. Talk about efficient! She had also given us an appetizer to start our meal off: some nuts and a spicy green dip. It was a great start! We ordered the following: Yuca Fries - came out piping hot and crispy! They also paired it with a wonderful spice filled cheese dip. Platanos - also came out very hot with cripsy edges. Very sweet and ripe. Passion fruit Maracuya - tasted like passion fruit and was very refreshing! Tallarin Verde Con Lomo - The beef on top was to die for. It was juicy, savory, and tender. Absolutely fantastic! Their pesto and cheese on top of the pasta was fairly heavy. I was a bit disappointed with this dish. Tallarin Saltado De Pollo - Chicken was tender and well seasoned (though I preferred the beef). I actually liked the pasta on this dish more than the pesto - it was a bit salty, but kind of addicting to eat. You can taste the garlic and basil very well. Alfajores Box - I truly like these cookies more than the type of cookies I'd get at Porto's. These cookies are quite fragile, but absolutely fantastic. They're crumbly, sweet, and the center is perfection. For a box, you get 8 of them. Definitely worth the dime. My friends also ordered their seafood fried rice and another rice dish. I didn't taste theirs but I do have a photo! Their website states that this is the best Peruvian food in Ontario, and fortunately, I'd have to agree with them. When I come back, I'd definitely get their cookies and plantains again. Their Tallarin Saltado is also a must. Great atmosphere, clean restaurant, wonderful staff, and fantastic food!

Decently sized portions that left 2 hungry adults full and we had some left over to go as well. The restaurant is a bit small, but can fit lots of seats and tables inside. It can get cramped just by positioning of chairs, etc., but no biggie when we went, just keep this in mind for rush hour. Didn't take too long for our food to come out. For our visit, we got the classics: 1) Lomo Saltado: -Deliciously seasoned and moist pieces of lean beef with sauteed onions, tomatoes, with fries and rice. -I usually don't like sauteed veggies, but the slight char and the sweetness went so deliciously well with the umami of the beef and the double carbs of the rice and the fries are just so deliciously indulgent with the salty combo of the proteins. -Love, love, LOVE the Aji and Chimichurri sauces that they have here too. Truly the pinnacle of this type of cuisine and adds such a delicious burst of flavor to an already flavorful dish. 2) Chaufa de Pollo: -Simple chicken fried rice with onions and some scrambled eggs and bits of chicken. Some chicken bits were a tad dry and the rice was a little oily, but not too big of a deal since this was a very indulgent lunch for us. Would love to come back again to try more of their menu.

Review specific to waiter- Not food…read more Local place, for us at work, we often call and place orders for food, but there is 1 male waiter there that isn't friendly. So we deal with it and order and eat from there any way... Today, was a different story, we came in got greeted by the cook as we walked in, sat down, 10 mins later the waiter finally acknowledged us siting, after passing by us multiple times. We place our order, Thankfully the food came out, and was good (thanks Mr cook). 1 one of us at the table asked for the salsa, they normally give you with the food, He doesn't seemed to please and come back with 1 small salsa for 2 adults with large plates, non the less we didn't say anything we ate our food, and did not anything, at this whole time we finished out meal and our amazing waiter had yet to come see if we perhaps needed water or something, 10 mins later we stand up and go pay at the counter, with him because he was now cooking. . After terrible service from him we close the check, and he tells my brother "you don't know how to say thank you?" My brother hadn't really heard him so he softly said thank you and waived goodbye, he starts walking to the door and says "hey! " you don't know how to say thank you or what? For the second time... Again my brother just smiles and waives it off, no avoid any issues. We get in our car, and we see him walk outside, clearly hot and bothered, So now I get out the car to see what the deal is.... After watching my demeanor change... he changes his and with his attitude says ohh there's no problem here.... And we end it there... horrible horrible horrible service from that man.... IF YOU ARE HAVING A BAD day!! IF YOU HAVE the wrong attitude than your in the wrong business, don't be in the customer service area!! Most definitely not return... Food is great.... This particular waiter... not even close... Sorry higo.. this review is strictly for that.
