Today Monday may 9th 2022 was the first time I've tried pollo loco so I asked my wife to go grab the birria tacos and the 8 piece chicken. 1st of all they took probably 30 minutes if not longer to get our order which they apologized for and gave us a free order of nachos and when she came home and I took one look at the birria tacos I knew it wasn't going to be good, it looked like it had been cooked a few days prior the meat looked absolutely disgusting and all burned probably by the many times it gets reheated. The chicken tasted like plastic even my 11 year old daughter tasted their nachos and said the same thing. Absolutely horrible experience and NEVER in my life will I eat that garbage again. And for those of you who doubt go try it and then go to chicken pulla on 183 and mac Arthur rd and try it night and day difference. From now on even if it takes longer to go else where that's what we're going to do. read more

Had a salad from this establishment a few weeks ago, and it was quite tasty! I had a bowl 2 days ago for the 1st time, and the chicken was like jerky. Also ordered 1 birria taco with dipping jus. I was putting off reviewing until I had a grilled leg and thigh since I am not a huge fan of white meat. But, I have been 3 times now using coupons for $5.00 and had to chime in since it is such a good deal for somewhat healthy meal (they have an under 500 calorie option with nutrition values). The bowls and tostadas are all made with breast meat and only once was it dry. The double chicken bowl is enough for two meals! The black bean and chicken is on the under 500 menu and perfect size meal with a side of perfectly steamed broccoli. Today's meal was a double chicken tostada and it was half the amount of meat for same price as a bowl and it was a bit dry for my taste - I will stick with the bowl. My next coupon is 5.00 for chicken leg and thigh, two sides and a small soda. I will update after I try the dark meat that I prefer. They accommodate changes with no extra charge. I do not like rice so twice they asked if I wanted double beans - Yes! And today I asked to sub black beans for the pintos which are good I just prefer the black beans. Nice decor for fast food! Let me begin by saying that I'm a huge fan of el pollo loco! I grew up in Southern California eating it and make it a point to have some every time I come back, so I'm thrilled that they're opening several locations in Fort Worth. I only order the flame grilled chicken when I come here, I've had something else once before and it was okay, but it's the chicken that really stands out! I got the 3 piece combo with rice and Cole slaw. Since they always have chicken on the grill, it came out super fast and was hot. The is chicken not quite on par with the ones in California, but still really good! It had the right flavors and is tender. The skin is amazing, goes great in a wrap with the chicken, cole slaw and rice. The tortilla does need work though. All in all, I'm very happy with the quality and hope that it only gets better! read more

This was my first time having el pollo loco. I came to this location during there first week. Which can have their hiccups from time to time. The inside of the restaurant is really nice and the major plus that you can see them actually cooking your chicken on the massive grill. So it helps put you mind at ease that the food is actually fresh. The ordering process was okay, the cashier I had forgot to give me a few items but I am sure he was just nervous. I do think the order pick up process needs A LOT of improvement. If you place a order to go then you should get a to go bag right? Well I had to repeatedly ask the guy handing to go to please put my food in a to go bag. He was not the nicest person but his manager came up immediately and handled everything. Food quality at this location is very poor. Chicken in the salad was like hard croutons. Avocados were spotted. Creamy Dressing was so runny it was like water. The other entree 2 piece White meat I ordered and paid for ended up being a scrawny leg and thigh. Of course when you call them they just want to replace it. Why would I want that? Just give me my money back. Not the first time that order was wrong and quality was poor. I suggest trying a different location than Bedford. read more

When I first heard El Pollo Loco was coming to North Texas I was excited and enthusiastic, and it triggered a certain degree of nostalgia. With Inn-N-Out burger and El Pollo Loco nearby, it's almost like being back in Southern California. These feelings quickly dissipated. The chicken seemed somehow bland, not bad at all, but the seasoning was not quite how I remembered it. The salsa bar was a bit unkempt, and there were only two serrano peppers for the taking. Jalapeno sauce packets aren't bad (they seem to be ideal for breakfast items), and the family meal isn't a terrible value. The skin was nice and crispy, but you have to pay a $2.99 upcharge to get breast. I guess upcharges are a common occurrence when dealing with breast tissue. The sides are not striking, and the inclusion of macaroni and cheese is slightly strange. The side salad was more like pre-mixed Iceberg for use in burgers with some red cabbage strands added. Their creamy cilantro dressing is decent, but they applied it quite gingerly and there just wasn't enough. Charro beans are again non-exemplary, but passable. I will probably come here on occasion, but with other more authentic Latin chicken places, such as Pollo Regio, already established, I find it somewhat difficult to justify a trip here with any degree of regularity. Also, it seems as if there was a bandwagon to open Latin Chicken places as of late, Pollo Campero, Pollo Tropical, and now El Pollo Loco. In a very short stretch of time, Pollo Tropical is already out of the North Texas market, and I somehow think El Pollo Loco might struggle to remain relevant. read more

I've been going to this location since it opened and 9 times out of 10 they get my order wrong. I'm not exaggerating, I literally started counting. Now I know some may wonder why I still eat here? Well because when the food is prepared or RE-PREPARED it's good food. I'm from California and I love El Pollo Loco, but I HATE this location, it's just the closest one to my house. How is it that you can go through different management and different staff and still manage to never get an order right? And it doesn't matter if I go through the drive-through or come into the restaurant I can literally tell someone my order and there will either be something wrong or something missing. One time I came in, and they were literally OUT OF CHICKEN; let me clarify COOKED CHICKEN. I needed a 10pc I was taking it home to a full house I waited a whole hour for them to make it, and when I got home with it there were only 8 pieces of chicken in there. The receipt said 10 PC, I paid for 10. Today tho, made me want to actually write a review, I went inside to order the new street tacos that they have advertised and I asked for the Taco Platter w/one chicken avocado and one chicken street corn The platter comes with rice and beans. Then I wanted 1 separate Street Taco w/ Baja Shrimp. I asked the young lady cashier to substitute the Chipotle Sauce on the tacos w/ creamy cilantro sauce. THAT'S IT. The only change. First she only rang the Taco Platter And told me that my total was 7.78 which I knew was incorrect because the tacos are 3.19 each, and the 2 Taco Platter that comes with rice and beans is 7.19+tax, and I asked for a whole 3rd Taco. So I just made a puzzled look and asked "for the platter and the 3rd Taco?" All of a sudden, she was confused or frustrated and she had to re-ring my whole order, beating the register buttons. So I re-told her my order again, and was charged correctly. I waited for my food and then my name was called. Since I am so used to my order being wrong of course I checked it at the counter, and of course it was wrong. The Chipotle sauce that I asked to not be on my tacos, were on my tacos. So I brought this to her attention, she stared at me in annoyance. I then asked instead if the tacos could just be made with no sauce and may I have a cup of the CREAMY CILANTRO RANCH so that I can put it on the tacos myself. So, the 3 tacos were remade and this time they took a longer to prepare than the 1st time. When my name was called again the tacos were prepared (but I didn't check) and there was a cup of CHIPOTLE SAUCE sitting with my food. I again, asked for the Creamy Cilantro cup, she snatched the Chipotle cup and gave me 2 Cilantro Ranch Cups (I really just needed 1) and she stormed off the floor. I couldn't tell you where she went. MY THING IS: I have worked customer service my whole work life (15 years) and it wasn't busy in there; not in the drive-through and not in the restaurant. I don't have any type of speech impairments, I spoke my order clearly and only asked to substitute one thing. Why does my substitution bother you? And WHY are you mad at ME when you or your team messed up MY order. She was staring at me like I asked for the shirt off her back. I pay good money here, with or without coupons. I should get what I asked for and it should be done right the first time. And I should receive service with a smile because I did not come in with an attitude nor did I leave with one. When I got home I got thru my chicken tacos to find that my Shrimp taco HAD A BITE IN IT and only 2 Shrimp. I can't make this up!!(I mean I can, but I swear I didn't). If you ever want to know what heaven tastes like, grab yourself a leg and get your grub on. While living in So Cal for six years we ate El Pollo Chicken almost weekly as there was a location just a few blocks from our apartment. Sometimes we would get chicken and sides and sometimes just chicken and made our own sides at home. This is some Slap Yo Momma Good chicken. They offer salads as well. They have a good selection of various combos and their prices are reasonable. Their sides are good but their chicken is hard to beat when it comes to flavor. I love chicken legs and thighs. I don't like breast, well chicken breast that is. I do love wings as well but from here, legs and thighs is the way to go. They offer flour or corn tortillas and you can get various salsas, jalapeños and other items from the self serve bar. This place was clean and the young lady who helped me was very friendly. I love this place, the chicken is always most, the portions are good for the price, which is why I was disappointed with my last visit. I had been craving this for some time and finally got a chance to stop by. I went through the drive through and the food quality has really gone done. Unfortunately this will be my last visit. I ordered a three piece meal and the chicken was so hard I couldn't even cut it with a knife. It had obviously been sitting underneath a heat lamp for hours. The mashed potatoes were made from a box and they hadn't bothered to mix it correctly because I needed to drink water to wash them down. The only thing edible was the corn, it was delicious. Of course, it would be very difficult to mess up corn. I really feel as if I got ripped off paying almost $8.00 for a meal I had to throw in the trash. In fairness, I could have called the store and complained and given them a chance to fix it. But, I felt the manager should know what's going on in his own restaurant. Went to this location two weeks ago, they did not make the bowl with the items listed, called manager. He said come by we will replace, I go back they fix the bowl and right in front of the manager they bring the bowl and it did not have the corn listed for this bowl. He told them go back and add corn. I went today (true story) I ordered the avocado chicken grande bowl again. I glanced at the bowl, see the corn, beans, and think okay they got it right. I get home open to eat the bowl.. no chicken. I will not go back to this location they have no quality control and do not know what should be in the bowls listed. Horrible experience. read more

Delicious food, Great service, reasonable prices and a $5 good value menu I took my Mother for lunch at our neighborhood El Pollo Loco, something we do about once a week. As usual, we were not disappointed. Maxine - a familiar face to us there - was working the counter and greeted us, as usual, with a warm greeting and friendly smile. I ordered the $5 Pollo Bowl Combo and my Mom ordered a burrito combo and she used a coupon for free guacamole and chips. Maxine efficiently took our order, offered us the option of adding churros to our order - everything was smooth and seamless. our order came in about 3 minutes. It was delicious as always! The menu is wide and varied. From burritos to chicken meals to salads, El Pollo Loco is always trying introducing new items and offering weekly coupons by mail. And their $5 value menu (including drink) is the best value in the fast food/casual food industry. What I love about EPL (other than the delicious citrus marinated chicken, great service and well-priced value meals) is the clean, well-maintained salsa bar with fresh avocado salsa as well as a house salsa and pico de gallo. They also have chopped cilantro and onion which I use amply! And their beverage choices are better than most casual food restaurants - Coke and Dr. Pepper products, and Brisk Raspberry Ice Tea. They also have sweet tea and - my favorite - horchata. I'm a transplant from Southern California where El Pollo Locos are everywhere. I liked them there; I love them even more here in Bedford! If I could give them a 0 star rating I would. We arrived at 130, too a moment to review the menu. I ordered the double chicken avocado salad with ranch and a side of chips and queso . My husband got the quesadilla (chicken and avocado) combo. Our order was officially placed at 1:34 PM and we didn't receive our food until 1:52 PM. The order was wrong, I got the double tostada instead of my salad. The girl at the counter argued with me and refused to fix the issue. The food was cold, my husbands quesadilla was barely cooked.
