OMGosh this place is so unorganized and the food is so over cooked. I've been spoiled by other El Pollo's, so much, that I will not return.

It surprised me that there are many negative reviews for this location but it kind of opposite for me. I found its staff very friendly, and helpful. I've been there several times and I am never disappointed with my orders. The food always cooked right, clean and fast. Only one thing I would suggest to improve is the salsa bar which needs to be clean more often. Believe me in terms of food quality and service, this place is way better than its closest El Pollo Loco in Newberry Park, which I would never come to that place again. read more

I like El Pollo Loco's, but rarely go to the Camarillo location as they just CANNOT get my order right. They always leave out at least one thing in my order. It is just this location. But tonight, I was in a hurry and needed a semi-healthy fast food dinner. And I figured, what could go wrong with the Avocado Chicken Wrap?? Wait.... No avocado??? That's right. I like the chicken and it is pretty convenient, it is a little out of the way but the drive thru service is pretty good.

I've never walked out of a restaurant so unbelievably unset more so than I did today. I've gone to el pollo loco 3-4 times a week for the past 6-7 years. Food is always good, and I go there for their salads. Yesterday I ordered my usual salad and found a crumbled up piece of paper at the Bottom of my salad. I attempted to call the restaurant and tell them about the paper, but line was busy for entire lunch hour. I called later on in the evening and was able to get through and spoke with Maria. Who took information down about what I paid and asked for either the salad or the receipt. I said that it occurred hours ago and both had been exposed of. She then said its fine she could look up the order and replace it tomorrow. As I agreed to go in and get replacement salad next day at lunch. I went through the drive through and ordered the salad that was to be replaced. Maria came to the window and said she needed the receipt. I said Maria we spoke last night and you said you were going to look up the order last night. Long story short Maria made me go inside the restaurant and still refused to give me replacement meal even though I showed her the picture I had taken of the salad with the paper. She said no restaurant will give replacement meal without a receipt. This is the worse display of customer service I've ever encountered. Maria you get a big fat thumbs down. I remember loving the chicken at El Pollo Loco when we lived in Los Angeles, so was happy to find one nearby when we moved here. Unfortunately the two times we have come to this restaurant the chicken was dry. The service and guacamole are OK, but not the dry chicken. read more

Worst El Pollo Loco Ever! Would give this place a negative star rating if possible. Normally we love El Pollo Loco but not the one in Camarillo. They constantly run out of Chicken and Tortillas; what kind of chicken restaurant runs out of chicken at 6pm??? How do you sell a meal to a family when you don't even have the items to complete the purchased meal??? Then they offer you a substitution for the missing item but never actually give you that item. This happens way to often and this is our family's last time attempting to get a dinner from this location. From now on, I will stop at the Thousand Oaks location and bring it home; I eat lunch there at least twice a week and/or bring home meals from the TO location and not once have they ever run out of something. read more

Worst customer service ever here. People working here suck. Got our order to go and they gave us our salads then turned they turned there back on us. We looked in the bag and noticed they didn't give us any forks or salad dressing. We stood there for several minutes while employees just made eye contact and went about their business. I finally had to shout "Excuse me..?!" To an employee & said "We didn't get any dressing.." She looked irritated, sighed & walked to the fridge and informed me they only had 3 dressings left! We had ordered 4 salads! When we got home and opened our salads we noticed the chicken was under cooked and PINK!!! Not just one but all of ours had pink chicken! So gross! We couldn't even enjoy our food! AND had to share dressing! This place SUCKS! read more

We visited the place before ordering catering online. The place looked clean. We visited again to confirm the order was enough for 40 people. Everything went well on delivery day and the food was excellent. I would definitely use them again for catering and also just for individual meals read more

I read the reviews but threw caution to the wind. I had been there before and I carelessly assumed it could not be any worse. Well we all know what happens when we assume; needless to say it was worse. I ordered the 12 piece family meal with three sides. They did not have Coleslaw as I ordered so they ask for a substitute item but from where I was standing I could are the Coleslaw but I was informed that was for eat in orders only. So after arriving home we found that the Pinto Beans that were ordered were Black Beans and the 12 pieces of mixed chicken was only 10 pieces and the one and only piece of white piece of chicken was a dried out crusty wing. The other chicken pieced were also bone dry and had absolutely no flavor. This was the last time I ignore the reviews and the last time I will be going here. read more

I normally go the Pollo Loco in Newbury Park, I eat there at least once a week and always appreciated the fast service and fresh food. However, today I stopped by the Camarillo location, I was in a bit of a hurry so I went though the Drive thru. I waited about 10 minutes to take an order for the one person that was in front of me, with other cars behind me wating.. I kept hearing him repeat himself. Finally he finished at which point I waited another 10 min for them to give him his food. I am now in line for about 20 miin. Very aggravated at this point, I told the cashier I was not happy for the long wait and she simply told me that they ran out of change...No apologies or feel of guilt I think what actually prompted me to write this review was that the store manager was standing right next to her and never bothered to turn or acknowledge my issues or for that matter even care. Based upon the many 1 one star reviews, many other people seem to feel the same....I can't see a business like this, in such a small community last that long. Our family once ate at this location at least once a week. The family meal I ordered tonight for take home was thrown into the trash uneaten as it was not edible. The quality was consistent with reheated chicken. The juicy interior from citrus marinade not detectable and the crispy skin was soggy. Although I was told at the register there would be wait because they were out of chicken, the chicken just didn't seem fresh. The meat was very very hot, dry, tough, rubbery and the skin soggy. The mild tomato salsa bin was empty. Most restaurants that make you wait 15-20 minutes will at least offer you a beverage while you wait. Not a lot of customers which may explain the new "nuke to order" concept. This whole chain appears to be on a downhill slide according to other posters. I got scammed out of $15 and would like to warn others to at least ask if their chicken will be fresh off the grill. If you go inside you can watch, but if you do drive thru you do not know what they are doing. read more
