I have never thought to do a review on a fast food restaurant. I was out Christmas shopping and found myself starving so here I sit. Pollo loco is really the only fast food place I would ever go. Anyway... I was sitting at my table watching the busy place and waiting for my food to be delivered. Much to my surprise this well dressed young man named Jason came and politely brought my tray of food and asked if there was anything else he could bring. Since I was eating alone I watched him serve others with this same politeness. He even brought a tray of condiments around with hand wipes toothpicks salt pepper and offered them to the people sitting at their tables. Equally gracious to all patrons. When he wasn't serving he was wiping tables and making polite comments to customers. My compliments to this Pollo loco for hiring such a pleasant professional employee. I literally just had my lunch right now and I can say that this is the nicest fast food establishment that I've ever been to! Point being due to their great staff. They were so friendly and super fast service. I was greeted when I came in, asked how my day was during ordering and and was wished a nice day on my way out! Very 1st time eating here food was good and service was amazing the location was in a bit of a awkward place you can almost past it by. We got a lot of food for our vacation money budget and it wasn't that crowded the hours for weekday was great food served hot we tried a variety of dinners. The only thing that wasn't to Appling was the salad with guacamole in it I wanted to try for the 1st time not something I can get use too. Besides the accent that everybody had out on the West Coast the customer service was good and the bathrooms clean and the tables were as well so I would say maybe few of the California locations are good and some are just in the plane down rights back of the ghetto to be careful which one you choose read more

Wow, who knew that El Pollo Loco was a hidden gem in the Sepulveda Place Plaza? I got some great service from Jose yesterday. He was cordial, helped me with my order, reminded me to try some of their salsas, and took my name so they wouldn't call out a number (I love it when they actually call customers by name). Then when I got the order, the lady opened up the box to make sure I got the correct items. That's a detail that not many other places care about, but definitely adds to the service level. I never thought about El Pollo Loco much and I was unexpectedly surprised with the pleasant experience I got. I figured it'd be just another fast food experience. Good vibe going on here and unlike most of the shops in the plaza, they actually have ample seating. Parking can get tight during the lunch rush, so try to go during off-peak hours or walk if you work nearby. Oh, and the chicken was nice and juicy. I love having tortillas to make a makeshift burrito and their salsas are a great addition to top off the meal. read more

This is one of the most busy EPL's at lunch time that I've ever been to due to all of the businesses in the area. If you come during peak hours, be prepared to stand in a long line. I usually come between 11:00 - 11:30 to avoid the traffic. The chicken itself is not as juicy as other loctions like the one on Century by the 405. The service is probably the best aspect of this place. Very friendly workers that will attend to your every need and request. read more

It's just fast food, but love the chicken, and the salsa is addicting. The line can be long during weekday lunch hour, but it moves fast because they add cashiers as the line gets longer. This particular location seems more efficient than others I've been to. Friendly service and usually a warm greeting with a smile. Salsa containers are refilled promptly. There is indoor seating, plus new outdoor seating in front for all restaurants in the minimall, not just EPL. New flowers and shrubs in planting areas are nice, too. Be careful because the shape of the sidewalk drops off suddenly near the handicapped space. Parking here was always a mess, but it seems better now that the construction of the In-n-Out on the other side of the lot appears to be complete. Just watch for the cars, they are crazy. read more

This isn't a review of this specific restaurant though to please my wife, I take her here every month or so and the food and restaurant are ok. Rather, it's an indictment of the corporate entity. What don't I like? The prices for what you get. Every time I walk into an El Pollo Loco, I always think, OVERPRICED...POOR VALUE. Almost $10 for a 3 piece dark meal with two side and beverage. $8 burritos????? Instead of going the route of Del Taco...where every time I enter I think, GOOD VALUE, EPL decided to try to go upscale and charge upscale prices for mediocre fast food. Value menu? Doesn't exist. They got rid of the BBQ flavored black beans which were delicious. They got rid of the potato salad which was ok but gave my mouth an american and cooler flavor to my meal. They started an employee bringing you food to your table. Don't need that. I hate going but I have to keep the wife happy. If you are in the Hawthorne, CA area, you might want to consider Inka Express on Hawthorne Blvd where you get delicious fresh food including rotisserie chicken at a fail price. Very fair value. The employees are very nice. They gave us a free cup to use for any drink we might like to try. This pollo loco is clean which is nice. That said that we would have to pay $3 more for mixed on the special family meal vs $2 more for mixed on the regular family meal mixed. I love this location! The staff are very friendly and always pleasant and kind. I've never had a bad experience here. Also, they have some amazing deals on the $5 menu that I choose for lunch often. I visited this store on 3/29/19, I had just got back from 18-hour flight and had been traveling for almost three days to get home and I was starting to get sick, I was very disheveled. I had not been to this location in a while and was very disappointed in the quality of the food. The chicken was extremely dry and the salad was wilted and appeared to have been sitting for awhile. Great Service! I come here frequently and have come had to very impressive interactions. 1. I always order a very specific pollo bowl. Black Beans instead of pinto beans and no rice. Isabel at the registered made a pleasing comment as to my delicate order and smiled and said that is a great way to make a pollo bowl. She didnt make me feel like i was bothering her or that it was an annoying order to take. As I walked back to my office, i realized my order was not as requested. I called pollo loco and I expressed my concern. They were extremely apologetic and said " we will make it right". I walked back and the manager was there to greet me, and I showed him the bowl and the receipt. He apologized and requested to make me a fresh pollo bowl on the spot (one was seating out and he told the cook : " I will not give her this one, she needs a fresh one and next time please cover it so its not exposed" all this was in spanish) I was pleased! This has always been my favorite fast food restaurant. I remember friends who would travel quite far to get to the original El Pollo Loco on Alvarado in Silver Lake. Luckily for the rest of us, El Pollo Loco is now a chain and can be found almost everywhere. It's still the best fast food around, with the same great chicken at every one I've been to. The El Segundo restaurant in particular has extremely nice employees. We've lived in the area for 20 years now, and have been coming here forever, and have always had a warm reception. The menu is good and there is plenty to choose from from the dollar menu, but I love the side salad with my 2 piece dark meal. The BBQ Black Beans are back (they were not available for a while after Katrina) and we're thrilled about that! And they are very generous with handing out coupons and there's always the $1 off coupon for calling the number on the back of your receipt and giving them feedback. read more

I got a fantastic meal for 2 coupon which expired Monday, so I had to go on Monday since I didn't want to waste it. I got 2 legs, 2 thighs, 3 small sides (I picked the rice, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes), 2 small salads which were very fresh, 2 churros, 2 small drinks and tortillas - all for $10. The worker packing up my stuff said they're out of the flour tortillas but are making them. I could either get corn tortillas or wait. She didn't know how long it was going to take, but I decided to wait. It pretty much only took a couple of extra minutes. I think in total, I waited about 7 minutes. I've been to this location before. This place is still pretty busy. I went around 630p. The workers are really nice. There seems to be enough parking spots. The chicken might have been a little salty. However, I am still a returning customer for here and other locations. read more

my work wanted lunch at this place so luckily they were able to handle lunch for 75. the online ordering wasn't working so i called in my order. my order was ready on time and they had everything i needed plus they helped me put it in my car. the food was tasty and enough to feed an army. staff was super friendly. will be back. read more

This was my first visit to an El Pollo Loco and I thought it was good. The restaurant was clean and seemed well-managed. Staff was friendly and patient when I didn't know what the hell I wanted. The food was great, the chicken is probably the tastiest thing you can get on the fast food market. Sides of corn on the cob and mac & cheese were good too. The tortillas served on the side were fresh and tasted great with some of the chicken or by themselves. read more

The food is average for el pollo loco. Any location would taste the same. I stopped by on my way home and parking was a nightmare. There are a lot of little restaurants right near so u almost got something else but my husband really wanted to try this he's new to the area so I did. Love Love Love this location. The only bad thing about this place is the parking lot. It is very small with no drive thru. It is a mad house during lunch to try and park but it is worth it. The food is always fresh and the employees are the nicest. We cater from them quite a bit for work which is wonderful. We have had a bad experience once with catering but the GM listened when i called to let him know what happened and he gave us a discount on our next order. This is by far the best pollo loco I've been too!!! As soon as u walk in everybody says "welcome to pollo loco" which for some people may not seem like nothing but already makes u feel invited and that they truly appreciate ur visit! The employees here are very friendly and attentive to ur order and everything u tell them. They have a wide selection of seating areas that would beat suit u, each table has a nice little vase with colored flowers (plastic). As soon as ur order is ready there's a person that delivers ur hot, fresh food to ur table! I've never had any complaints or problems with any of the employees in this EPL location as I usually do with on other locations! Right when u leave they have a bell that's next to the door that's their service bell, meaning if were satisfied with their service to ring the bell!
