The service here was amazing. They checked on us often they made our waters were filled major. Food was OK. They're amazing here for service. They have a happy hour with some pretty good deals on there The birria tacos and plate was it really flavorful. A Carne Asada quesadilla wasn't cheesy. I like that. They add a lot of meat, but I would love if they also added a lot of cheese. My favorite was the shrimp quesadilla that blew my mind. It was amazing. I also was a little disappointed that they had no Horchata, but overall experience it was great It's a nice restaurant I would come back again for that shrimp quesadilla for sure and for the service. Our family has enjoyed La Paz many times over the years, so when a recent order didn't meet the quality we've come to expect, I reached out to the manager, Josie. I really appreciated the way Josie handled the situation. She was professional, took ownership of the mistake, explained that they were going through a transition with some new hires, and offered to make it right by comping a meal on our next visit. That meant a lot to me, especially as a local teacher and longtime member of the El Segundo community who genuinely values having great local restaurants where families can feel welcomed and appreciated. We returned yesterday, and I'm happy to say that we had a wonderful experience. Our carnitas burritos, tamales, fresh guacamole, and salsas were all delicious, and the service was great. More importantly, it felt good to regain our trust in a restaurant that our family has enjoyed for so long. Mistakes can happen in any business, but what really matters is how you respond to them. Loooove this place. I had to cater lunch for a work event and the food and the service was so great. It was very easy to order over the phone and they prepared the food so well, and even helped me carry it to my car. The tacos were great but the real star was the rice, beans and salsa. My daughters come here all the time since their school is nearby, and they absolutely love it--especially the guacamole! But today really stood out because of the exceptional customer service. My daughter's debit card wasn't working, and the staff handled it with so much patience and kindness. Cutting to the Chase: you are looking for a burrito, excellent salsa and a pleasant atmosphere, this is the place. From my understanding it has been around for over 40 years, and I can understand why. A truly good Asada burrito, surprisingly excellent salsa (just the right amount of heat). The ambience is storefront order up Mexican restaurant but it's elevated by the spacious booths and large tables. There is a larger dining room to the rear. Service behind the counter was very friendly which really made a nice experience. Though I did not have any, they did have Mexican beer on tap so I'm looking forward to a return visit. Portions are on a larger size and the burrito was easily shared with my dining partner. The Horchata was also very good, not too sweet which is the crutch of mediocre preparation. Very grateful La Paz has reopened after a few months of being closed due to a car driving into their restaurant. Any review left between September 2025 and December 2025 is strange, given that the restaurant was not open. We are so glad everyone was safe in the accident, and so glad to have them back. Takeout is ready so fast, 10 minutes after the order, and everyone is so lovely at pickup. The food is as good as always, very glad to enjoy it again. read more

A wonderful family run authentic dining restaurant I call my second kitchen. Josie and her team have been serving delicious Mexican food for the 30 years I have been dining here! The shrimp enchiladas are my go to favorites. I also love the carnitas tostada as the meat is always perfectly moist. Their salsas are freshly made and the verde is unique to the area. Plenty of seating with tvs and a chill vibe. Their service is always great (btw the November reviewer must have waited months to post since they were unfortunately closed during that month). my go to spot for the best carnitas. I love the best! I frequented La Paz every few weeks throughout the 90's up to 2004 when they moved from the Main street location to this location. I lost track of them after they moved. I thought they closed. I left the state in 2008 and recently while staying at a hotel nearby I saw them online. I was so happy, I had to go. when I walked in they were all the same employees even the cook. I ordered my go to dish Carnitas Guadalajara. its served with rice, beans and a side of corn tortilas. The best I have eaten anywhere in my travels. it was as good as the last time I had this great dish at the old location. so good I came the next day for Lunch and ordered the same dish just to make sure I wasnt dreaming. My wife and I ordered from them and a half an hour later they told me oh we can't deal with your order right now... Such a ridiculous offhand, unprofessionally experience... I ordered a horchata and the fish taco combo. The horchata tasted very watered down. The fish tacos were super disappointing. The fish looked and tasted like it was frozen and thawed and placed on top of the tortilla. There was an over abundance of lettuce and the smallest amount of sauce for the taco. The rice and beans were the best part of the meal. The service was okay as well. There was a male employee who was super kind and attentive however our main waitress was a bit condescending towards us. Overall though, I wouldn't return back. read more

Located in El segundo on center street la Paz is a couple of miles from LAX. I've been eating take out from here for years. I phone in my orders for pick up and they are always ready at the register when I arrive. Then I rush back to my office to eat my food while it's still hot. I've honestly never had a bad meal from la Paz. My colleagues and I eat here about 5 times a year and everyone enjoys their orders. The chips are awesome and pair well with the salsa and Guacamole. The only danger is that of filling up with chips and not being able to finish your meal. Nice portion sizes of tasty Mexican food for reasonable prices, what more is there to say. Food was neither good nor bad. However, I do have to say that the food was "clean", meaning it wasn't oily and fatty. The carne asada and super burritos were solid, and the enchiladas were on par as well. We ordered to go but the ambiance of the restaurant looked inviting and may have included another star in my review. It's surrounded by homes so parking is plentiful and easy.
