The workers here are the absolute nicest and are so attentive. Love that they start you off with complimentary chips and salsa when you dine in. The portions are large and reasonable pricing. There are many very good Mexican food restaurants in the South Bay. But we continue to return to El Tarasco for the consistent quality and flavors, and the people. Went there to have food and watch the game at the restaurant. The service was slow to place my order because they were watching the game too. I finally put my order and got my food. The server never check back to see if I needed anything else. I got my check for my meal I waited almost 30 minutes for someone to get my check. I just put the money on the table and left. Been going here for years and I have to say it's the best of all the different El Tarascos in the area that I have tried. They give you complimentary chips and salsa as soon as you sit down. I love their Taco Tuesday special which is 3 Tacos (I get shredded chicken) and a drink. They have good Horchata! On Wednesdays, I get their Tostada and ask for extra Taco Sauce (the red sauce on top); it's the perfect topping and always hits the spot. I just went again today and got their #17 Daily Special. It includes one Taco (I got Ground Beef) with an Enchilada (I usually get Cheese), Beans, Rice, and a drink. So good! Parking is easy and service is quick. Great people and great food! read more

Wife and I decided to try El Terasco after not going there for many years. Lately we have have been going to Don Chuy's in Culver City for taco Tuesday and Torrance El Terasco for their 4 item macho combo. My experience at El Terasco today was totally amazing. Luckily we arrived in time for Happy Hour, which is M-F from 2 to 5. The happy hour includes $1.00 chicken or beef street tacos. Wife had 3 chicken and I had 3 beef. OMG !!!!!!!!!!! The tacos had a generous amount of meat and tasted totally delicious. Chips and salsa are free. Wife had a $3.00+ diet coke and I had two $4.00 happy hour Coronas. My street tacos were so damn good I ordered 2 more for a grand total of 8. Our server, John, was so friendly and very professional. El Terasco will now be our number one Mexican food destination. We have been dining here for quite a few times and the place never ceases to amaze me. The place was well decorated with Tiffany lamps overhead and the food was not only good but priced just right. Three of us went there for a late lunch but even though the place was very busy. Jonathan,the owner, greeted us himself and led us to a wonderful table from carved hardwood. I had the Monday special deluxe wet chicken burrito and Glen had some tacos plus a bottle of Modello cerveza he drunk with a straw. Walking in, the atmosphere reminds me of a Mexican home meets bar. It reminds me of a relaxing Sunday evening, but with a buzz of excitement. Once seated, my waiter provided me their chips and salsa. The salsa is wonderful; sweet, tangy with a light kick. Their chips are small tortilla shells, and have a super satisfying crunch when you crack them to dip into the salsa. I almost finished the whole tray before my entree. I got the junior super deluxe burrito w/ carne asada; their Monday special. It is a huge burrito that has so many ingredients as you eat it; steak, rice, beans, guac, sour cream, etc. While normally difficult to balance, their mole sauce brings everything together. It melds together for this perfect bite. My only problem is that it's too much food: never a real problem. I can only imagine how big their regular super deluxe burrito would be. This is a Mexican place located on the Main Street in El Segundo. The service is a bit on the slower side and the ambiance is pretty casual, but it has a homey feel with reasonable prices. I tried the Jr. Super Deluxe Burrito ($12.50), which is a wet burrito with ground beef, melted cheese, lettuce, rice, beans, guac, and sour cream. The ground beef made the burrito taste pretty salty and oily. I wish there had been more lettuce, guac, and sour cream to help balance it. My friend got the 1 Chile Relleno 1 Tamale special ($10.75) -- the Chile Relleno was solid but the tamale was a bit dry. My favorite part about the food was actually the free chips and salsa since both of them tasted super fresh. As a non-meat eater, the potato tacos are amazing and delicious at El Tarasco. They cube real potatoes and skillet fry them. Add cheese and lettuce and these are some of the best potato tacos around. A must stop in Manhattan Beach. The food is cooked on the spot in this cozy (no more than 700 sq foot) restaurant. The burritos are enormous portion. The ambiance is authentic. Within the hour we were there, there were numerous locals that came in for their "usual." You can sense why this place has been there for over fifty years and the decor unchanged. Swear I've written a review for this El Tarasco. Guess not? I picked my Brother up at the airport and we decided to come down here for some tacos. Both of us hadn't been here in years, and it seemed like a good time to come back. We walked in the place, and the same dude is still there. Don't know his name, but he's been there since I was in High School (that was a loooooong time ago) and he still looks the same. Like one of those people that don't age. Anyways.....we sat down, they brought out the chips and salsa and I went to town! I had 3 beef tacos for dinner, and my Brother went with one beef and one potato taco. The ground beef was just a tad different than I had remembered. Still really good, but I think they were slightly better back in the day. Still the same red sauce on top. Really, really good fried shell ground beef tacos. Had a Pepsi to drink, my Brother went with a Horchata. Service was great as always. Our waitress was cracking jokes with us and messing around with us. Super nice lady. Really enjoyed our dinner here and brought back some good memories from back in the day. Found a piece of hair. Called them. They said to come back tomorrow since they were closing. Next day I went back. The old man called the owner the owner mentioned to bring back the food. Never did the old man mentioned to bring back the food. He responded well when you go to Costco you always bring back the food with the receipt. I told him this isnt Costco it's a restaurant. You never mentioned me on the phone to bring back the food. The area they are in makes a lot of money and it wouldn't even cost just give me one on the house. Coming to El Tarasco, I really had low expectations for this place. However, I will say it isn't bad. It gets your taco craving fix in with easy parking and an authentic vibe from the restaurant. I went in for a taco Tuesday and the service was very quick. I would recommend and I would rate it more of a 3.5. Every time I come up to LA I have to go to this fabulous taco shop. It's pretty small but cute and clean. Their chips are so fresh and crunch and their house salsa is delicious. Service is friendly and quick and prices are very reasonable. They even have a small parking lot in the back. We ordered the shredded chicken taco, the carne asada plate and the carnitas taco. Old time favorite here. It's a little bit divey with an old skool Hispanic vibe. Food Service is quick but customer service is little lacking. Our drinks weren't replenished until I asked. We barely had a chance to look over the menu when the lady server came to take our orders. She was a bit impatient so we told her we weren't ready. After a minute, she came back to take our order. The restaurant wasn't busy so we couldn't understand why she was so impatient. After that we didn't see her again and a male server took our order. He was super nice and patient. Food is 4 stars. Chips were fresh & crunchy. Salsa was good with a teeny kick to it. Anyone not liking spicy would like the salsa. Guacamole is creamy, plain & simple. There are no tomatoes, onions & cilantro in it either. It was all avocado, lime and some seasoning. Enchilada plate was delicious and filled well. Rice is fluffy. I don't eat beans but my friends loved it. Taco is hardshell but the the shell is thin and not thick & crunchy. Therefore don't let it sit. It will get soggy. We will be back again soon. Decent Mexican at a decent price in El Segundo. I was attending the Cinecon Film Festival at the Old Town Music Hall, and we had a lunch break, so my companions and I went in search of a quick, not too expensive lunch in the area, since we'd already gone to the place across the street a couple times. El Tarasco had room on the patio outside and it was a gorgeous day, so we sat there. I had the Shrimp Enchiladas, which is always my go to Mexican. I honestly didn't pay attention to what the guys ordered, since my face was in my plate! I inhaled it. The chips and salsa were also really good. I would have ordered a margarita, but didn't want to risk falling asleep for the afternoon films (I'm a lightweight. LOL) I'm deducting a point for the abysmal shape of the restrooms.
