A coupon sheet finally came in the mail for their fairly new Burrito Bowls, so Lunch was on the horizon at EPL Hanford. The $3.00 coupon was applied to only one of two Street Corn Bowls ordered. I thought that was a bit chinsey, but.... And, I think, with a base price of the bowls at $12.99 and $14.99, the price was still over the value even with the coupon. We both ordered the Street Corn Bowl because we really like Mexican street corn. There was very little corn in the bowl named for it. Mostly rice and beans. Flavor was uhh... O K, but only okay. The service was friendly, if not too helpful, and the ambiance left a bit to be desired. The dining area really needs an overhaul. The price, even with one coupon applied was, I believe high for the quality of the dish as served, although the portions of beans and rice were plenty. Actually, too plenty. My mind was refreshed why I hadn't been to El Pollo Loco in a few years. I'm sure I won't be back nearby. read more

I'm not sure if the lack of maintenance and stock on hand falls on the manager or the owner. But this place is looking shabby. The urinal is out of order, the tables are grossly sticky and the dining room smells like it was cleaned with a dirty mop and dirty bucket water. Since there was no cheese for my burrito, I asked if the price could reflect the lack of cheese. The cashier said no. Sadly this El Pollo Loco is just like the one in Visalia. I wonder if they have the same owners? I've said it before about the Visalia store, and now I will say it about this one. You guys could learn alot from the Bakersfield El Pollo Loco on California Ave, off of highway 99! I've been coming to eat at El Pollo Loco for years. This is probably my worst experience. I have lived in Hanford my whole life and this has been our go to for a healthier option. For a long time me and my parents never had any issues and they were a restaurant I would recommend. But as of recently this has changed. The last couple of times I have been, there has been something wrong with my order. They have failed to take the right order and have forgot or gotten it wrong multiple times. This is so frustrating because sometimes you notice when its too late and your lunch is ruined. read more

They never have 12-16 piece mixed chicken available. Always a 30-45 minute wait. Customer service was not helpful and had attitude.

This has got to be the absolute worst El Pollo Loco ever. The prices keep steadily going up, the service is terrible and they have always almost got my orders wrong. Missing items, not filled requests, rude and uncaring personnel and switch-n-bait or a straight up messing up what is delivered, but design or malice. When you order a family meal and you are getting the more expensive mixed combo, you expect breast and wings, not leg and thigh. The later would be the alternative. It frustrates to no end as how can be so consistently awful. I wish some one would contact associated to this store. I have had to go in the store to get things right multiple times, I need to find a similar alternative as I don't think they care to get it right. read more

I had a really crummy experience at this place today. Although they are the tiniest pieces of chicken out of any fast food place, I love the flavor of the chicken here, so I get some every now and then even though I grit my teeth at what I have to pay for it. However, since I saw an ad for the Brillio beef tacos, I had never heard of that and decided I would try it. Big mistake. I ordered two tacos with no cheese and no onions, and received two tacos WITH cheese and onions. STRIKE ONE. I also ordered a small pinto beans and a small rice. They came in cups holding maybe 3 tablespoons, and were $4.95 apiece! STRIKE TWO. AND..... for two Brillio tacos and a few tablespoons of rice and beans, it cost me over $19!! The beef was dry and tough and barely seasoned, and the tortillas were fried so hard when I tried to bite into the taco it shattered and everything fell out of it onto my lap (I was in my car). STRIKE THREE!!! Their advertising about this new product is false, and the amount of of food they give is minimal, at an exorbitant price. Sorry El Pollo Loco, three strikes and you're out. My wife ordered dinner for me, her and our son. This will be the last time we be getting *anything* from El Pollo Loco. My three piece chicken was burnt, inedible and resembled shoe leather. Tl,dr: Never go to the Hanford location, period. I rarely, almost never leave a bad review for a restaurant. This is the exception. I ordered nearly $60 worth of food for curbside on the app, it said to check in when I arrived and it would be done at 8:34pm. I checked in and waited until 8:40pm, thinking they must be busy or shortstaffed (covid) then I went inside. The food was sitting on the counter, obviously having been done for a while, and it was all cold. I'm not sure if they didn't see when I Checked in on the app, but the fact that the food was done and was a Curbside order should have clued them in to maaaaybe looking in the curbside parking to see if someone was waiting for their food? I took it home because at this point I was mad and just wanted to leave. When I got home I see none of the sauces I had ordered (seriously how do you give someone a bunch of birria and no consume?) And salsa on everything when each item was ordered specifically without it. So I go back, I tell them my name when they ask for the name on the order, and they try to hand me the little bag that comes with every meal, no consume again, and not even 1/4 of the cilantro sauce I had ordered. It was on the receipt they printed out, they decided not to give it to me thinking I wouldn't come back to complain. After telling them, no this isn't what I ordered and showing them the receipt, oh and another 20 minute wait, I got my sauces and left. We had to clean our own table and I noticed another couple doing the same . Not many customers inside and every empty table was dirty. This is my first Yelp review. I just wanted to state how disappointed I am at this particular location. The WORST (cannot exaggerate anymore) customer service I've every experienced and the food quality has gone down significantly. Went there a couple of weeks ago during normal business hours. Waited in line, then someone just yells out (in a rude and highly unprofessional tone "we're not serving the lobby anymore!!" Zero explanation from anyone. I walked up to the counter anyways and spoke to someone else to try and get an answer, still nothing. I leave fuming at the fact that the person who yelled out was so damn rude (ive never experienced anything like that tbh.) I decide to give them another shot a couple of days ago. Placed a mobile order. Despite having placed the mobile order for pick up, my wife ends up waiting an additional 45 mins to pick up the food from the scheduled time regardless. What a horrible experience. You would think when you order using their app and give them half hour aheads up that you're on your way that your food would be ready when you got there. But that's not the case. Not only that, but they don't follow the covet hygiene practices. Masks worn below the nose so if you're looking for covid definitely eat here. When I asked for my money back they refused. I told them that I would post my horrible review on all over social media, and employee of the month Valerie said that was just fine. Previously had a day where I ordered a double chicken bowl and they didn't put chicken in it, super annoying but whatever mistakes happen. Girl #1 at counter was obviously new, didn't know how to take off avocado from my first order. Second girl came over to help. So I order a second item off the $5 combo, and I make it clear "I want your chicken nachos off your $5 combo, no avocado." Girl goes oh it doesn't come with avocado, and I'm like oh ok as long as there's no avocado on it cool. I ask for the drink that comes with the combo. Get my receipt, girl #1 rang me up for a drink. Yes it's only $2, it's also equally annoying after already fixing her mistake for charging me $2 more the chicken bowl. So I'm like hey you charged me for a drink, but I ordered a combo and it comes with it. Girl #1 is like no you said you didn't want a combo when I asked. I'm like that's correct, because the second item I ordered is a combo. I point at their board which shows "drink and chips included." Girl #3 comes over and is like "we would have charged you more for the combo" without looking at anything. I point to their board again and go "it's a $5 combo. It comes with a drink." Point at my receipt showing the $4.99 for the combo. Girl #3 "well it's like a dollar anyways" with a tone like I should just accept Girl #1's incompetence and donate to the Pollo Loco corporation fund. I point at the receipt again showing a charge for $2.19 for the drink. Girl #1 says well that's after tax here I'll give you back $1.75. I get home, I'm like self analyzing why I was annoyed, $2 isn't much but it was annoying to have to keep correcting girl #1 and then she kept screwing up and girl #3 coming over and acting like she was doing me a favor giving me any money back. This place is really run down and filthily. We went about 7pm at night and it was really dark outside they had no lights on outside and the dining area was also closed and dark. The outside parking lot was dirty as if no one cleans. The drive through was taking orders but even going through the line it was no lights . This is a business ready to get robbed.
