Went here yesterday for dinner and enjoyed my experience. I was craving some tacos and I was able to get three of their taco el carbons and a chips and guac for just $8!! I love that El Pollo Loco still has their amazing self serve salsa bar with a variety of salsas. I absolutely love their pico de gallo and avocado salsas because they are full of flavor and really made the tacos pop! Their tacos are still so yummy and their chips are super crispy. I didn't know the name of the dressing I wanted I only knew it was green and the guy acted like I knew the whole menu like sorry bro I don't know the name of it. He acted like someone petty would if they where in an argument or something. I have stopped by this location several times after work and can say this is one of the better locations in the DFW area. While I can't speak for the inside, the drive thru staff is always nice and patient through the ordering process. Service can be slow sometimes, but they definitely make it up with quality food. They always add extra sauces on the side, which is nice as well. This place is solid if you want freshly cooked chicken with a Mexican twist. It's not an authentic Mexican restaurant so don't expect anything spectacular/traditional. I signed up for their app and get rewards/coupons all the time. You can get pretty cheap meals here for around $5.00! The wife and I came the other day with a buy one get one free entree. We had dinner for two for under $7! If that's not winning, I don't know what is. The classic chicken salad bowl is very refreshing and fulfilling. The chicken here is very flavorful/juicy, but sometimes small. I can't get full off of a two piece meal. I eat a lot! Overall, I love coming here with the rewards/coupons they send me. I've twice ordered their double chicken tostada bowl. The first time I didn't get any chicken at all. The second time it was good. Serendipitously this exact same issue happened at the Central Dr. location in Bedford. It depends on how you tell them your order whether or not you'll get the thing they're actually known for; Chicken. I asked for no onions in my tacos so they decided to covered it in cilantro... fine. They have really good menu options on the "Under 500 Calories" section of the menu. The food is good, and fresh. Flavor-wise it trails a bit behind Pollo Regio, the other "Pollo" roasted meat this side of Hurst. I like that they have coupons that come in the mail frequently and that I use shamelessly. Good white/Jack queso, too. We also enjoy the chicken tortilla soup on especially cold nights. This place was really hopping when it initially opened, but the excitement has since died down. It doesn't seem to get crowded anymore, and the love in the service has equally waned; ie., drive-thru getting orders wrong more frequently; leaving out sauce when you get a salad, wrong drinks, that kind of thing. I also dined in around closing and noticed that their unsweet tea tasted uhhh old. They had a food service sticker on the container that explained it: It was made at 0900. The salsa bar also went to Hell and there were more than enough employees standing idly to replenish it. But it's late on a Wednesday... I'll give them three stars because I still believe in them! I have only been to El Pollo Loco once before, when they first arrived in the mid-cities. It was a different location, but it was very bland. Today I thought I would give them another try. I shouldn't have. I had the chicken street taco platter, and the chicken was very dry. Ack! I had a hard time chewing and the flavor was so bland. I had a hard time not choking on it.
