Wow! What an amazing experience for our first time dining at El Pollo Loco! We were running errands close to the mall and our tummies were rumbling. We looked across the street and El Pollo Loco caught our eye. We'd been meaning to stop in. Shane welcomed us warmly and was patient while we figured out what we wanted to order. My wife decided on the guacamole burrito and I opted for the three taco combo which included chips and a drink. What a great deal! Talk about being excited when I saw the drink station. Aguas Frescas and Horchata and free refills. I am a very happy camper. The horchata was so delicious and refreshing. After a short wait our meal was ready. My wife's guacamole burrito was huge but so delicious. Next time we may share one. My 3 chicken tacos were wonderful. The grilled chicken had an awesome flavor and was so moist. We started eating at El Pollo Loco a little more often lately. I never went before because the place never has many cars out front. I was worried the chicken may be cold or dried out. I was wrong the dark meat grilled chicken has been very fresh and juicy. The Charro beans as a side are great. I add the Pico and the green salsa to my beans it makes them even better. I use the flour tortilla to eat with the beans. I had a chicken burrito once it was also good. Down load the app to get deals. Like I said they are not very busy but the service is good at this location. They do have a few people coming inside when we are there. I hope they get busier the grilled chicken is good. They need to fix the air condition at this store. It has been warm/hot in this restaurant. This issue should be fixed soon I hope. read more

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and everyone working was very pleasant. The double chicken and avocado salad was packed with protein and a great low carb option. The ingredients tasted fresh. I also ordered the small guac and chips. The guac is made fresh each day. My husband had the chicken bowl. He said it was very tasty and was surprised at how good the Mexican rice was (he's kind of picky with rice lol). I had tried to eat at one in California abut 30 years ago but they would not serve me walking through the drive thru, I was driving an 18 wheeler and could not fit. We finally stopped in and were pleasantly surprised. There were no cars in the lot so we were afraid that the food would not be fresh but we were wrong. Ive always liked their chicken avocado burritos. So I went in and ordered a chicken avocado burrito There were only three customers in the dining room and they were not very busy at all When I got my burrito it was wrapped loosely and ready to fall apart. It did not have any avocados in it at all. So I took it back and asked for some avocados. The lady brought me back, some wrapped up in paper, and when I opened it, ithere was only two small pieces of avocado. Maybe enough for two bites I was very disappointed, as there really was no excuse for this, especially when the place was so dead This seems like a company that feels entitled to get business just by being there and can afford to lose customers. There are 50 other places to get a burrito around here. I even called them about the issue and never heard back I really would have rather written a good review. As the Executive Director of a Texas Non Profit, I know first hand the importance of Customer Service. Mr. Washington and staff were excellent. The food was good. Service was excellent. Store was clean. It was also great for Mr. Washington to check in on us to make sure everything was ok. Rare for a manager to be walking around like that. Walked in with 3 other people and all had to wait a few minutes before being acknowledged. They were no where near being "slammed". The place is average size and clean but all lights in dining room were turned off, and it was dark. The food itself was good, chicken was juicy and rice and beans were on point. The corn tortillas were chilly cold, don't know if they had them in a cooler or not. I opted for the Shrimp Mango Plate with a side of Chicken Noodle Soup (I LOVE the different kinds of plates and food you can get here, it's so overwhelming sometimes though)! I will say right now, I am NOT a fan of Cilantro, like at all. Or fresh Onions. I'm pretty sure I had ordered this without Cilantro though in my experience a lot of places don't consider this means also the garnish. The Shrimp Mango Taco's were really good. There's so much color going on that it's just exciting (please tell me I'm not the only one who feels like this) and everything tasted so amazingly fresh! I'm a huge big fan of the beans and rice too, this is probably the one part of all these plates that I look forward to the most ironically lol. Went here yesterday for dinner and enjoyed my experience. I was craving some tacos and I was able to get three of their taco el carbons and a chips and guac for just $8!! I love that El Pollo Loco still has their amazing self serve salsa bar with a variety of salsas. I absolutely love their pico de gallo and avocado salsas because they are full of flavor and really made the tacos pop! Their tacos are still so yummy and their chips are super crispy. Seriously, from all of the pieces of chicken I received, I barely had enough meat to fill a small can of tuna.
