Thought I'd grab a bite while I was out shopping. I ended up waiting around 10 minutes for some tacos that came out luke-warm. Manager had come around and I told him about and then he cooked up 2 more, to replace the other ones. That's customer service. Will definitely come back when I'm around there again. I tried their double chicken bowl. The beans tasted like they came from a can, undercooked. The flavorings, such as they were, tended toward smokey, and the chicken itself was as dry as balsa wood and harder to chew. I'm guessing the stuff was last night's leftovers. Oh, I should mention that all the stuff put together smelled like a dog turd. The website is badly set up. I went there to look at their menu and it would not let me do that, and instead tried to funnel me into placing an order, like it or not. The chicken football is absolutely the best it's very healthy with good fresh lettuce cauliflower rice and avocado. I always look for a Pollo Loco when I'm out of town as we don't have one in our hometown. It seems like a much healthier option than most other places. read more

Four stars for delicious food! Husband & I were skeptical to try another fast food grilled chicken joint after eating at Pollo Tropical, but this place is a complete 180. Chicken was very juicy and not dry at all, the skin was moist and flavorful - it was all grilled very well. Sides were okay, also flavorful. We also got chips & guac - the chips were a little stale, but the guac was delicious and mixed very well, just maybe a hint of too much lime. Will definitely be back! I am so excited El Pollo Loco is finally open! I'm originally from SoCal and we have El Pollo Loco everywhere. I love it! I ate at this location for the first time today and was fully expecting there to be something wrong with my order only because it just newly opened. Service was amazing and the food was fabulous! This place already seems like it's running like a well oiled machine! I also place this in the same category as Chipotle. It's high end fast food. Everything is super fresh and nothing is fried! Pollo loco has really good food and since I don't have one where I live, this is the location that I most frequently go to. I only have one complaint, and that is that they don't double check their orders and often times I will have something missing (the bag of chips that comes with the combo, the extra cilantro that I like to put on top of my food, one time I even got one churro instead of two). My last two visits I ordered chicken nachos. Last week they were the bomb! This week they just weren't as good. The presentation was sloppier than the time before, and The Taste was just bland. But the people are always friendly and the food is almost always hot and fresh, and I can get in and out of the drive-thru in a reasonable amount of time. I do have one second complaint, they need to bring the arroz con leche dessert back! That's really good. They also have really delicious churros. Always soft and crispy, never greasy. read more

Wanted to try this place as a different place to eat. I read reviews and was willing to try it. I had the fajita burrito and a classic taco. The taco was delicious, but that was the end of enjoyment. The chicken in the burrito seemed fatty and had a weird rubbery texture. I asked for no sour cream but there was a ton of sour cream in the burrito. Wasn't very impressed. After getting a response from El Pollo a couple days later, I returned for lunch and tried the Double Chicken Avocado salad and a crunchy chicken taco. I was much more pleased. The chicken was not rubbery this time, but had a nice texture. I could have eaten just the salad but the taco was good again this time. Today I had one for buy 1 get one free! Buy a meal with one leg and 1 thigh, 2 sides, and 2 tortillas and get a second free! Well when I opened it there was 2 legs and 1 thigh in each not one and by the following pictures I am sure you can figure out why! The cook gave me chicken so well done it was hard and stuck to the bone on every piece! Guess he felt bad as I am sure he knew he was giving me burnt, hard as a rock pieces of chicken with the meat stuck to the skin and bone and basically no good. Guess they have to account for every piece so put it in the to go orders as you know that if you got something like this when eating there it would be returned at the counter pronto! Either that or they think seniors are not worth it and will not complain! I got news for them. Today, I wasted my money here as I had to throw all the chIckes in the trash. This restaurant needs some management attention. We had lunch at the El Pollo Loco on Pipeline, in Hurst yesterday. I have eaten at several El Pollo Locos in several states; this location is an exception to the others. The food we purchased was very good; as expected. However, the counter service was cold and unfriendly. The cleanliness of the store was unacceptable when measured against my previous experiences at other El Pollo Locos. The condiment bar (sauces, pico, etc.) was an absolute mess. There were several areas throughout the store where the floor was wet from spillage. The trash receptacles were full. The time of day for our visit was around 1:30pm. There were not many customers in the store. The counter had one couple in front of us for ordering. Point here, the store was not busy and all of the issues I have pointed out could have been addressed with a few minutes of attention by any one employee. read more

One thing that really got me is the plastic eating utensils. GROSS!! Everyone knows you don't just put big tubs of unwrapped stuff for everyone in the world to put their grubby little hands in to. I went with the Mexican Cobb Salad, which I'm going to admit was a pretty boring salad (and the chicken was cut into such small pieces I could not taste them). One of my companions got a quesadilla and the other got the burrito, which they swore were both delicious and very cheesy. They were also both grilled, which is a bonus. I was so disappointed in the tortilla soup my husband brought home to me today. And after I had told my friends at work that it was THE BEST! It was yummy the first two times I had it, but not today. Broth was a strange color and reeked of celery. (Yes, I know celery is in the soup, but it was overpowering.) The chicken was sparse and was in big hunks of dark meat.
