This location is the worse. I spend at least $50 a month there and I normally get the same thing. You would think it wouldn't be so hard to get some dang beans in the tostado salad especially after I specifically ask for them after removing the meat. They don't give a discount for the sale after you remove the meat, however they still charge almost $10 for nothing but lettuce and some rice and 5 beans. The nerve. So I started asking for the meat to be replaced with extra beans and rice. You would think after requesting this to replace the protein they could oblige since chicken is more expensive that beans and rice . Tonight I told the cashier that they never give me extra beans and rice when asked, could he just make sure to tell them for me bcus I'm really hungry. Nope he didn't, per the picture you see the shit is empty again with only lettuce and a few sprinkles of rice and 5 beans. I hate that this is the location that's closest to me. I wish I can input a zero rating. It seems that this restaurant either needs to be restaffed or it is the corporate policy to give horrible service to certain customers. I had issues with this restaurant previously and I was assured that something would be done...is why I returned to this location. Alas...that is not true. I went there tonight. Used the drive through. I ordered chicken tortilla soup, a regular order of guacamole and chips, and two orders of churros. The soup was lukewarm...almost room temp by the time I drove the literal five minutes home. They gave me 1/2 bag of chips with my regular order of chips and guacamole. That order usually comes with two bags of chips. Churros were warm. The server placed the soup on its side in the bag and it spilled. The lid for the cilantro and cheese was not on tight so it spilled into the bag. I am now convinced that it must be corporate policy to treat certain customers badly. If so, that is simply unacceptable. But, because of how comfortable these inept employees give poor service, they must believe that it is condoned by their managers, and corporate office. Well...I will no longer use this restaurant. And I will tell whomever will listen how poorly I was treated now for the third time. We decided to do drive thru El Pollo Loco. There was about a 5 minute wait since we had arrived at the El Pollo Loco on Wednesday around 1:30 P.M. After reviewing the menu, we had decided on the following 1 Chicken Avocado bowl 1 Double Chicken bowl, no avocado. 2 Burritos (Beans, Cheese, and Chicken) After we had arrived to the window, the total came out to be approximately $25.00 for the order. It was slightly expensive considering what we had ordered. The burritos were relatively small and barely had any chicken in it. By the time we had arrived at our residence, the two bowls were slightly cold and the cheese had hardened. Overall the mix of ingredients was good and the chicken was well spiced. I enjoyed the double chicken bowl. There was a fair amount of rice, beans, sour cream, cheese, and chicken. If you're looking for a quick meal that is relatively healthy depending on the options selected, El Pollo Loco is a decent alternative. read more

Purchased a meal from El Polo Loco on Craig and Simmons on 7/14/2024 at approximately 1 pm through drive through window. When I arrived home about 1 mile from my home, the tacos were cold and old. I returned to the restaurant and spoke to Roberto the manager at approximately 1:38 pm. Roberto argued with me explaining there was nothing wrong with the tacos. He refused to even look at them. They were basically inedible. I explained that I recently had knee surgery and could not come in to the store. He refused to assist me, did not refund my money and closed the window. The first bite was ok too spicy though so i wrapped it up and waited to get to my destination which was 5mins away. Diane and I had to eat quickly on the run before a personal grooming appointment, and so we shot in here. We hadn't been to an El Pollo Loco in several years. I found the changes since my last visit to be favorable. I unwittingly overdid it by ordering a Chicken Avocado Burrito in addition to a 2-piece Chicken Meal. For, the flame-grilled chicken with Pinto Beans, Mashed Potatoes with Brown Gravy, and flour tortillas turned out to be a more than adequate amount of food for lunch, all washed down by a diet soda. The hot meat of the moist, citrus-marinated chicken leg and thigh easily slid off the bone and quickly warmed the gut. Though unnecessary, the Chicken Avocado Burrito was extremely thick and filling, with deboned chicken meat and a generous amount of avocado tossed inside a large flour tortilla. Complimentary Tortilla Chips were also unnecessary on this occasion, and remained uneaten. Diane's small side of Mac & Cheese was rather cheesy and tasty as well. Upon reflection, I just felt that Mexican Rice would have better suited this type of chicken than the side of Mashed Potatoes I had selected. Me and my mom went into the location on Tuesday they have a special for taco Tuesday and when we get in this location we see that you really can only place your order through the machine at the counter is really nobody there to help you but when we came in it was a worker at the register helping another customer but we weren't paying attention to that cuz we're behind them once we got up to the kiosk my mom was having a problem placing her order she had a coupon on her app that was for the tacos that was for the three for five so I was trying to get some help and I did see a worker standing more off to the side but he was still in the front where I could see him so I said oh excuse me and he just kind of looked but he never came over to the register so we're just standing there and just still kind of waiting for somebody to come and so we were standing there for a few minutes and then I see another worker the guy who was initially helping the customer before us so I was like oh excuse me and I was telling him I was trying to get the other guys attention and he comes up to the register hollering and screaming saying oh well he doesn't speak English so he doesn't know what you're saying and blah blah blah blah blahand I'm looking like in excuse me I'm trying to get help I see a worker who has on a El Pollo loco uniform so I'm asking him for help and he just turned his head and never came to the register and the man is still yelling he's just being extremely rude saying well he doesn't speak English he's not even on the clock yet so he doesn't even know what you're saying he's not even here to help you get in all of this what if he doesn't speak English he sees customers standing in the front trying to get his attention and if he doesn't speak English when he seen another worker he could have tapped them to just let them know that it's a customer in the front that looks like they need help or something but to come hollering and screaming and yelling at a customer telling them that a worker does not speak English so they don't know what you're saying and they're not on the clock yet so they're not here to help you is totally out of line it was totally uncalled for just the way in the manner that he was speaking to a customer was ridiculoushe's yelling and his tone and just his whole attitude instead of him just apologizing and saying all that worker he doesn't speak English so he didn't know you know that you needed help he's yelling at me and chastising me about this worker not speaking English and I should have walked over and got somebody else to help me needless to say we ended up not getting any food but here's the kicker my mom had scanned her coupon for the three for $5 and it wiped off her phone but it wasn't showing in the kiosk so instead of him saying oh I can still give you the tacos for the three for five he was like oh no it just showed back up on your account next week my mom is a diabetic and was coming there so she can get something to eat and after all of the chaos that was going on my mom just didn't even want to get anything from there and then just for him to not even offer her the deal that he know was on her phone but it had wiped off actually me and my mom both had them on our phonesand to make all of this crazy he said that he was the manager of that location he refused to give me the district manager's name or telephone number he said that they are not to give that information now I'm asking for the district managers name and telephone number this is totally crazy this is not the first time that I've had an incident at El Pollo loco they treat African-American customers really in a type of way I have experienced it I just kind of sometimes just sit back and just check the scene and see if I'm the one that's really really tripping but to do that to a older person my mom gets a senior discount when she comes there or whatever so that's just to let you know how old she is and to refused to honor the coupon and you know that the system wiped her phone clear and wiped it off her phone and you're a manager was just really the topper on everything that was done I want to speak to the district manager not the manager of that location because the man that was their said that he was the manager and he had absolutely no customer service whatsoever and please pull the cameras from that day we were there on Tuesday November 5th about 5:00 or so maybe about 4:00 pull the cameras because you'll hear how your management is talking to your very very loyal customers read more

For a few months I visited this location every Monday. I went thru the drive thru and the lady who runs it is so nice. She would recognize me and my daughter and my dog every time :) this is the MAIN reason for the 4 stars. Food wise... I wanna say 2 out of 3 times when I order the chicken chipotle avocado burrito WITHOUT avocado (I'm allergic but the burrito is SOOO TASTY!) I get avocado on it and I can't have it. So that's sad. This last time was in they didn't have any grilled chicken available. Normally I get a 3 piece. The chicken is so juicy and the the skin is crispy and the flavor is BOSS.
