The breakfast burritos were cold, dry, and poorly prepared. The spinach was completely raw and bulky, making the burrito feel like a handheld salad, and the pico de gallo was so chunky that the texture didn't blend at all with the eggs. Furthermore, the "house-made" salsa didn't taste fresh. To make matters worse, my daughter's breakfast quesadillas had no egg in them at all, despite being ordered with it. I also noticed the cucumbers in my salad looked old, even for an early morning order. A salad is typically more than a hamburger, but here, this is not the case. It is even more affordable than the ones in the store...and better quality. The service is okay. You do not get the red carpet treatment like other places, but they do have a great product. It is not as poor as say Tropical Smoothie, so I can't really complain. The restaurant appeared clean, with the parking lot well lit and the surrounding establishments were still open. The salads were full, fresh, flavorful and delicious. However, there have been a few times I was disappointed for example once I had a piece of plastic in my Greek salad I ordered and when I tried to reach out to the business by calling there is no one to answer the phones. Today they offer around 8 kinds of salads that you can customize to your liking. (or pay $6.40 and get off menu). They also offer wraps, soup, breakfast, lemonades, kids meal, and more. Again this is a drive threw without seating to keep their cost low. I've been going to Salad and Go since 2016 at one of the original locations in Phoenix. It changed a little over the years.....but in the end you always got a large salad for a low price that usually is especially good. Today I went with the autumn salad with chicken ($6.40 romaine, Brussels sprouts, sweet potato, parmesan cheese, cranberries, pecans, and balsamic dressing). I got a very large salad. I thought everything was fresh except for the Brussels sprouts....because they were unusually bitter.....Today the chicken tasted good but was on the spongy side. But it was still a great salad and I just had to skip over the Brussels sprouts. Craig Ranch Park is basically a little bit across the street. This was my favorite spot to come before this encounter today. So we got there I ordered my favorite order the "Buffalo Chicken" salad with JUST romaine lettuce and croutons, I confirmed that it was just romaine lettuce and extra croutons she said "yes it comes with just romaine lettuce " I said okay I thought we understood each other. I loooove the Salad and Go chain, but this location is my least favorite. Unfortunately it's also closest to my work. I've been twice now and had issues both times - first with the timing and then with the actual food quality. First visit, drive thru had two cars waiting at the window. I must have been in line ten minutes, which is super unusual. Thankfully I had time to spare because this place is usually super fast so it was unexpected. They did also apologize for the wait time. Second visit, I ordered online to avoid the wait and portions were smaller than usual. The Mediterranean breakfast burrito in particular was smashed together to be significantly smaller than the same order I've received at two other locations - I've been known to only eat half the burrito at a time and this one was like gone in four bites. It's kind of what I expected at this price point, but I'm happy to report that it is NOT the case) The steak, i was not impressed with, though. I wouldn't order it again. Almost every piece I got was gristle, and it had no flavor at all. The creamy Greek dressing, it wasn't what I was expecting. It was not bad, personally, I prefer a Greek vinegarette on a Greek salad. I think it would have been way better with a vinegarette style dressing. Everything was fresh and good, the price was great.
