The food was great. My husband is a Pollo Campero stalker, going to every one he passes by! When we happened to come across this one, we had to stop and try out their menu. We were greet right away as we came through the door. Made us feel so welcome. We got the 4 pieces to share and it was really good. Cost came to $16.58 for 2 people. The breast meat was not dried out, like a lot of fried chicken we've had. The portions were good. They served us with real plates and silverware. And they picked up our dirty dishes afterward without us having to bus ourselves. The staff was very friendly, professional, and patient. The managers came out to greet us. A Mixed Bag, But Juan Is a Star! Went to Pollo Campero and it was sweltering inside--easily 90 degrees. The A/C was a no-show, which is the reason it only gets 3 Stars. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, and while the flavor was good, the "spicy" part was a total bust. The heat level was basically zero, but the sandwich was still pretty delicious. The mac and cheese, however, was a tasty and solid side dish. The absolute best part of my visit was the fantastic service from Juan at the counter. He was humorous, friendly, and professional--a true delight. He made the experience much better. Just as the T-1000 once said, "I'll be bach." Hopefully, the A/C will be, too. read more

Pollo Campero is a very casual fast-food-ish but nicer type of restaurant that offers delicious marinated chicken in a variety of ways. They offer bowls, 2,3,4, pc. platters, sandwiches, empanadas, nuggets, family meals, sides., and more. Soft beverages are served here. It's nicer than regular fast food because someone brings out your meal to you on real plates with real silverware. We both tried 4 piece 1/2 grilled and 1/2 fried chicken platters. WOW! I have to give 5 stars because that chicken was delicious and perfect. Juicy and delicious! This sure doesn't seem like fast food. This chicken is actually better than from many restaurants. I like getting 1/2 grilled and half fried. Chicken thighs are really outstanding. The macaroni and cheese is southern style (soft pasta) but good. The plantains were nicely caramelized and didn't seem oily and were very delicious. They were like dessert to me. The people working there were extra nice and helpful. Pollo Campero is a chain that was started in Guatemala that is in over 15 countries with around 400 locations. Based on my first experience Pollo Campero is one of the very good chains. Been craving chicken from here, inside was clean, bathroom was clean and stocked with all toiletries. Cashier cleaned and swept after each table left. It was well maintained, only thing that threw every person dinning in off was where to place the dirty dishes and garbage. There wasn't any trash bin to place your things after eating. Guess you just leave it at the table and a worker will buss it when you leave. Customer service was great especially you can tell the cashier was in training. Placed our order all items were freshly prepared and brought to our table on actual plates. I had asked for grilled chicken but ended up getting fried chicken instead. Sandwiches spicy and original with pickles they were delicious. The fries were freshly made nice crisp to each fry and paired with their camper sauce just fantastic. Empanadas weren't that great this time maybe the recipe changed slightly. You can get 2 for $5 or trio meal 3 empanadas and 1 side (we chose fries) that seems to be a better deal. They were out of salads, their salads are great too. The Mango drink is our favorite very refreshing. This visit was better than my last. It's been awhile since we have been here. Quick errands on lunch and I needed food and it was taco Tuesday. I assumed I could find tacos here but I was mistaken. I am new to the area, I work over here so I do t know a lot of spots but I've driven by here and just assumed tacos were sold here. Silly me! Tonight, we decided to try this quick serve chicken restaurant. It exceeded all expectations. The service was friendly and the food came out quickly. When you dine in, your food comes on plates instead of disposable packaging. I tried the Camperitos meal which had white meat nuggets and a side, which I chose fries. I also chose the option of bread, rather than a tortilla. Additionally, I got empanadas. The Camperitos and fries were tasty and they had yummy bbq sauce for dipping. I thought the empanadas were decent, but not amazing. I feel like this place is a tad on the pricey side for what you get, but it was an overall good experience. We stopped in here on our ongoing quest to find good fried chicken in Las Vegas. This place does have that. Some good fried chicken in white and dark meat. I got the 3 piece meal with a breast and 2 wings. The chicken was meaty enough and overall tasted good. The Breast seemed a little dry (probably because they make up a big batch of chicken and keep it under a warmer.) The mashed potatoes were very good. I did not like the coleslaw at all. I'm used to a sweet or vinegary slaw, but this was neither. It was very creamy and bland. Almost like they forgot to put the sugar in it. I came to Pollo Campero excited to eat because I've always loved their food, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was flavorful, the sides were fresh, and everything tasted great. The staff was also really friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. But honestly, the heat inside the restaurant completely ruined the experience. It felt like eating inside an oven no exaggeration. The air was so hot and stuffy that we were sweating just sitting there, and it became impossible to enjoy the meal. We actually had to leave while still eating because it was just too uncomfortable to stay. It's such a shame because the food and service were great, but the temperature inside was unbearable. Until they fix the air conditioning or ventilation, I wouldn't recommend dining in. The food is pretty good but good lord, the service is awful. It's as if no one has been trained in any way, shape, or form. There is a swarm of employees but they're inefficient. Drive Thru line wrapped around the lot, went inside to see a line wrapped around the dining room as well. SERVICE: Apparently a half-hour wait is the norm here. It's unnecessary, given that you can see the food being freshly prepared and waiting to be bagged. The polite lady on register (only two) was not familiar with the menu or the POS system and kept repeatedly looking at a paper menu, the overhead menu, and her screen in confusion. My order was not complicated, but it took five minutes for her to call over the manager, and another five for the manager to figure it out. Both repeatedly tried to upsell me on their featured combo, which had an extra piece of chicken, finally stating they didn't know how to add on the side I wanted without charging full price and the "feature" had an extra side included. $10 and change, not bad. FOOD: Three piece dark (leg/thigh) combo with 2 grilled and one fried, sides of yucca and corn salad, plus an empanada and two sauces (guava and bbq). Sauces were forgotten, but chicken was flavorful enough not to need it. Grilled chicken is juicy and smothered in an herb marinade, but oddly rubbery as if it were steamed or not fully cooked. Fried was better than expected, cooked in a skillet rather than a fryer. Difficult to pick a favorite. Yucca side was generously portioned but could use a sauce. Corn salad tasted good but was room temperature, unclear whether it's supposed to be heated or cold. Buffalo empanada exterior was flaky but had an off-putting artificial butter flavor. I liked the filling though, wasn't too spicy. I realize they're fairly new (open three weeks), but management really needs to step in and train the staff. As they expand and open other locations, they need to learn from this location and make the space larger or at the least plan for a better way to manage the parking lot traffic, as people were unable to back out of their spaces to leave due to the cars in line. I really liked the food. The aroma of the grilled chicken was seductive and I just couldn't wait to get my hands all over those tender and juicy Latin...chicken goodness. It's the type of smell you won't mind lingering in your car. We got a box of grilled chicken, salad, fries, and dipping sauces: pesto, and cilantro. The chicken itself is super flavorful on its own but dipping it into the sauces takes it to another level. I keep switching back and forth between the sauces we got. "I think the pesto tastes better but let me dip in the cilantro sauce. Mmmmm...the cilantro sauce is better. What does the pesto taste again? Oh, man it's so good. Lemme try the cilantro sauce again." Next thing you know, both sauces are gone! Going back to the chicken...it's covered in herbs and there's a hint of citrus in there. The flesh is so juicy and tender. The Crazy Chicken should be shaking in its boots right now because this place is good. However, you have to have about an hour of free time and loads of patience. The drive-thru line is long and does not move. We waited 20 minutes in the drive-through before deciding to park and just order in. That took another 20 minutes + more time for the food to be ready. So much chaos and not enough order and organization. This place just needs to be managed better and could learn a thing or two about expediting the entire process. We came here after dinner rush (9pm) and I think they were still just dealing with dinner rush for the past 3 hours. Ordered the 12 piece mixed fried and grilled family meal with 3 sides(black beans, campero rice and coleslaw), a medium horchata and a chicken verde empanada to go. For all that we paid $35 and change. The fried chicken was good, not greasy. The grilled chicken was good too, a little too tangy for my taste. The pieces were small especially the teeny tiny wings. As for the sides, I liked the campero rice the most. It went well with the chicken. The two other sides weren't as successful. The black beans was watery and salty. The coleslaw was too tangy and had too much mayo. The chicken verrde empanada had barely any meat in it, a greasy, flat disappointment. The horchata was resfreshing though. The sauces were ok too. All in all, I don't think they lived up to the hype although the chicken was good. I don't think you get your money's worth for what you get either. Had a craving for chicken and it blew my expectations!!! I've never tried this place before until my bf brought me here after a long day and all of my cravings were satisfied. We went through their drive thru and got our food fast! We ordered the half fried/grilled chicken combo with the side of corn salad and sweet plantains. Now here me out, I'm not the biggest fan of grilled chicken or corn since the "best" I've had was the likes of El Pollo Loco for chicken and elotes for corn. But the moment I tried their chicken both grilled and fried? Instant favorite. The meat was so juicy and flavorful to the bone. Even the skin was nice and crisp for the fried chicken, light breading unlike most fried chicken that has a blanket of batter. The grilled chicken had a crust of seasoning that made each bite so delicious. This combo was the best of both worlds. Now paired with that corn salad? I was honestly skeptical at first but to be honest, I can eat their corn salad by itself and be so satisfied! It's such a unique salad I can't believe it's only a side dish. It has grilled corn, poblano peppers I believe, crumbled cheese all mixed with a vinaigrette and other ingredients I'm itching to find out. As much as I want to recreate this dish, I gotta hand it to Pollo Campero and keep going to them for it.
