I had a very disappointing experience at this location. I was the only customer in the drive-thru, but I still felt rushed through my order. When I got back to work, I realized my tortillas were missing, and then I found a hair in one of my tacos. I immediately called the restaurant but no one answered, so I left a voicemail. Since I was already about 30 minutes away, returning wasn't a practical option. I understand that mistakes happen, but having missing items, finding a hair in my food, and being unable to reach anyone afterward made this a very frustrating experience. I hope management takes order accuracy, food quality, and customer service more seriously. It's a small hair (had to brighten exposure to see in photo) but unsanitary. read more

I was heading home from work and had to be somewhere to dog sit so didn't have time to cook dinner. On the way was trying to think of somewhere to stop and grab dinner. Then I saw El Pollo Loco on Stanley Blvd in Livermore. I thought to myself it's been a long time since I've had El Pollo Loco so I decided to stop by and grab dinner to go. It's a combination of factors and I suppose routine that draws us back frequently to this neighborhood El Pollo conveniently near Trader Joe's. There are the mailer coupons, the casual dining space vibe which is roomy and you can sit without feeling rushed to leave. That I can find a bowl or salad or burrito I feel has mostly healthy ingredients. Sometimes it's the music and, interestingly, not always the chicken which in the cubed chunk form can vary from good to dry to too salty. I haven't had the chicken off the bone in a while. I'm told it's usually hot and moist. The menu specials change every few weeks. We order chips instead of the tortillas. I do miss the pre-COVID salsa bar. Now you just have to ask for the extras and if you want more than the one cilantro dressing container that already comes with a salad, there's a small charge. The staff behind the counter are very nice. There can be a wait to take orders when it gets busy. This place meets our needs on a Trader Joe's run. read more

Very seldom that I walk inside an El Pollo Loco restaurant. However, we just wanted a quick lunch and decided to have fast food. They have a drive-thru but decided to have a dine-in. Just like any fast food joint. you walk to the counter and order the food you want. I'm not that hungry and had their 2 pieces of chicken with corn and cole slaw. The wait was not long and we picked up the food on the counter. The chicken tasted bland and lacked sauce. It's dry and the portions are small. I expected this since I just wanted a quick lunch. El pollo loco was pretty dang good. I got some kind of chicken avacado burrito and it was good. There was a little too much cheap shredded lettuce in it but besides that, loved it. The shredded chicken nachos were really good too! 3 stars is because of the price, we did do DoorDash keep in mind but it was $80 for 3 entrees and the nachos. Insane pricing. We had a great experience with Jasmine! We had placed an online order for a 16pc mixed family chicken meal, but after we got home and began eating, we realized we had received the wrong family chicken pack (12pc Leg & Thigh vs 16pc Mixed). We called the restaurant that evening, and we're asked to come back the next day, as it was close to their closing time, but said they'd make it right. When we arrived at the store the next day, Jasmine was there to help. She was already aware of the situation and quickly replaced the entire 16pc Mixed chicken for us. What a joke. This used to the best of the fast food joints. I got an 8 piece meal for $34. When I got it home I could not believe how scrawny the pieces were so I picked all the meat off of the bones and weighed it. A whopping 6.21 oz of meat. That's $5.45 per ounce. What happened here? I got my favorite double chicken tostada with an extra cilantro dressing. Got home, tostada intact, but no dressing. When I called in to ask if the coupon code was valid before placing my order the woman who answered the phone said something garbled that I couldn't understand and then waited 5 seconds and hung up on me. I called back and she picked up the phone and said nothing and waited for 5 seconds and then hung up on me again. I could hear the background noise. My rating is mainly base on the total lack of customer service. I got there at noon and there was no one in line. As I walked up to the counter the workers did not look very busy. I stood at the counter for over one minute without ever being acknowledged by any of the employees. A young women who was obviously in charge was barking orders at the other employees. Finally after two more minutes she finally took my order. The chicken seemed a bit over cooked, but over all the meal was fine. I went up to ask for a lid to take the rest of my meal home. Again I stood at the counter and was not acknowledged by any of the employees. I attempted several times to ask for a lid,but was totally ignored. I was able to ask the women for a lid,but it took several minutes before she retrieved the lid. The eyesore that was an abandoned Burger King is now a shiny El Pollo Loco! It's great to have a new option on this side of town, and even better that it has a drive-thru (because I don't want to leave my car and you can't make me). I went with the Avocado Quesadilla and it was muy delicioso. It cost somewhere in the $5 or $6 range. The drive-thru line was long but it went fairly quickly and the employee was polite.
