Dirty, filthy, poor service and a black mark on all other El Pollo Locos. Customers beware, if you value your health avoid this place. While waiting to order, I noticed the drive through was getting the majority of the service, which isn't that abnormal but it gave me time to look around. Food was spilled all other the dining area tables/floors, most tables were dirty/unbussed, and the salsa bar looked like a blast zone. Just before it was my time to order, an off duty EPL worker came up from the side of the ordering line, cut in front of paying customers and asked to get her 3 pieces of chicken. I watched her walk back to the dining area where she and 3 other co-workers sat eating. When I received my order it was wrong, missing a piece of chicken in my 3 piece meal. As they were getting the 3rd piece I noticed one of teh workers spill sides on the counter and then wiped it back into the serving container. OMG. The chicken was overcooked, dry, and tasteless. My chicken was undercooked and bloody. I immediately threw up seeing this. This place rushes it's food and doesn't not cook it well. I ceased going to this location about 6 months ago. These guys are the model of inefficiency. Many times I pulled up to the drive through and found a huge long wait in spite of there only being 4 cars in line. I started going inside to order and it was not much better. There was a long wait for everything. Then I saw one of the managers (the lady in the yellow shirt) handling money and then food. I was grossed out. I wrote many complaint e-mails and made many complaint phone calls to EPL. They really do seem to care, but are not capable of solving the problems. They sent me tons of gift certificates. At one point, their family meal deal was $5 off and with the gift certificates I kept getting, I was brining home a whole chicken and sides weekly for free. In the end, I got tired of complaining and went somewhere else or to another EPL location. I like their food, a healthy option to burgers. It's a strange location that you can't see from the street, but there's a sign next to the IHOP sign. Even the exit seems strange too. Anyway, I had the double chicken avocado tostada and it was pretty tasty. The girl at the counter wanted to give me some green dressing and I asked what other type and she said ranch. She said she was out but would be right back. So she decided to call out the next two numbers and didn't get my ranch dressing so I decided to get some mild salsa instead. I had the worst experience I have ever had at a fast food place ever. The person at the register appeared to be barely awake (we arrived around 8pm on a Saturday). I asked for no pico de gallo. When we received our order what do I see but pico de gallo. I was going to let it go because I've worked fast food and I have a lot more patience for people behind the counter. HOWEVER, when I noticed there was also no avocado on a dish with avocado in the name I had to take it up to the counter to let them know. I told the guy at the register that I had asked for no pico de gallo and I had no avocado and he took the plastic container with the food and went to talk to Carmen, they both looked at me like I was a criminal. Did they think I ate the avocado and was trying to scam them for more avocado?? Really??? I was told it would be remade (basically the guy was telling me to go sit down). After the looks they gave me I thought it best I stood there and watched them make my food. The 2 people I was with had been at the counter trying to get sauce from the worker named Carmen who had the worse attitude. She was being rude to every single person who came up to pick up their food and deigned to ask her for something. If you hate your job or hate the customers maybe you need to get another job. The restaurant and/or drive thru weren't busy enough to blame her bad attitude on being busy. Carmen was just plain rude and should be fired if you want to keep customers. I will never return to this location. Next time I am in the area visiting family I will go out of my way to find another location. I found out after the fact that my family members have had constant problems with this location. They have never had a correct order from this location. The problem with this location is the online ordering system. 6 months ago we ordered online for an event, with a time to pick up. When we arrived at time of pick up we had to wait about 15 more minutes. Ok, not a big deal things happen. Yesterday we went to pick up food for an online ordered placed the day before. We had to wait 15 minutes before anyone had a fucking clue what was going on behind the counter. 35 more minutes after the manager pulled his head from ass and realized they dropped the ball and misplaced or forgot the order and time. Not a sorry for the immense delay or let us try to make it right. For a catering order over $140 to be missed by 45 fucking minutes is inexcusable and they lost a customer for life. I really like El Pollo Loco but almost every time I have gone in the past 6 months-year it has made me sad. They are always understaffed and rushing, which isn't their fault but I have tried contacting corporate a few times because it affects their service, and nothing has been done. They get my order wrong over half the time regardless of whether it driver thru or pickup, and its really frustrating. I was once overcharged $13 for two bowls I didn't want because they didn't repeat my order back to me and I didn't know until it was too late. read more

We could see employees but they would not let us make eye contact with us. As we were pulling out of the parking lot we saw someone in the drivethru. So we got all excited and went tru to order. This is among the worst El Pollo Locos I've ever visited. The food is mostly okay, so that's not at issue. It's just not the place to be if you want to feel safe, or if you appreciate reasonable quiet or your personal space. That's not entirely the fault of the restaurant itself, other than the failure to manage interactions between customers (which is WAY easier said than done). Still, there are 20+ restaurants in he immediate vicinity. Why would I choose to spend money at a place that on repeated occasions has encouraged me to leave well prior to finishing my meal? We had to call twice for them to answer and when they finally did they were extremely rude. They didn't believe us and asked several questions. They were giving away free FRESH chicken to which I believe were friends and family of the workers and serving old dried chicken to all the other paying customers.
