This has to be the SLOWEST DRIVE-THRU out of the dozen or so fast food places on this hil l. I always order the same thing - a chicken tostada bowl - and it takes them anywhere from 10-20 minutes. But anyway, I love those tostada bowls so I guess they're worth the wait. So delicious, especially with the creamy cilantro dressing (which they sometimes skimp on). I probably go to this el Pollo Loco 3 times a month coming from up North and literally it is my fave of all times. They can never hear me over the intercom and I have to repeat my order 59 million times but boy do they always give me good, hot, fresh food EVERYTIME I GO. Now I know its just fast food and not much to rave about but there cook their pinto beans with so much flavor and grace! The chicken is always crisp and moist and the tortillas warm and fresh. Love El Pollo Loco, but this location consistently makes you wait 20-25 minutes for any menu items with Chicken. It's a CHICKEN restaurant, and they are always out of CHICKEN. Cierra has to be the sweetest girl to work here. It seems to me she works very hard and puts meals together as accurately as possible. She's fast but patient and always shoots me suggestions if I don't know what to get, shes always smiling, and she's the main reason I even still come here. I think she deserved some type of credit. I ussuall drive through they are fast and ussually very accurate with the order. The also honor the 25score card with a discount which helps us go more often. Good choice for that I don't feel like cooking but want to eat healthy night. read more

Decided to return after my good experience....but I should have left it at that. got the chicken strips again and they were bad burnt and stringing chicken my side of fries was cold as could be..I talked to the manager and was told the strips are not burnt they had been left out on the counter since the AM to defrost and they were in the fryer an extra 3 minutes! and that they are fine ..I said if I am at the counter complaining they are not fine...end of story I got a piece of chicken in its place...no side etc..I felt ripped off on my $7 purchase a cold side and a piece of chicken. I was in the drive thru waiting for my turn reading all of the awful reviews on Yelp and I thought "Why, I never had a problem at the Magic Mountain Pkwy location". Ooohhh boy was a wrong. The girl who took my order sounded nice and on top of it. She read my order back and it was correct, got my receipt and everything was correct. One rule that I will never forget again...ALWAYS check your order before you leave. They forgot two tacos I had ordered, I asked for no pico on my salad or on my other tacos and it was smothered all over everything. I came in even though I read bad reviews. Staff here is very friendly, that's the only thing nice here. Unfortunately their system has many problems and caused a 10 minute delay where no orders could go through. I was the one who was at the register when this happened and was on my way to work. They only gave me a weak apology but didn't offer me 1/2 off my food or a free meal for the inconvenience. In fact they almost charged me extra since the guy was confused. Won't be coming here again. The food was good so I won't say anything on that. The location is very confusing with no signs on the street to tell you where to turn and has a run down parking lot behind an ihop. Normally I really like El Pollo Loco but this location was not up to par. I ordered a double chicken superfood bowl without sauce and without chicken and I added corn. So me and my family stopped by here for dinner After going to magic mountain. I ordered a cool ranch burrito in which I got a spicy steak burrito... I also ordered all large drinks and we got small drinks ... also forgetting creamy cilantro dressing .... when I went to go ask Shelby who was working the window she said she charged us for smalls we explained that we would pay the difference for the large. This location never ceases to disappoint. They either get your order wrong, forget to put salsas in your bag, or offer absolutely horribly slow service in the drive through. They NEVER apologies when there is an error. And any manager worth anything will recognize volume trends of the busiest times and account for it!!! Just this evening in the drive through (after waiting 20 mins) the person comes on the speaker to say that there is a 20 minute wait for chicken!!! Customer service is very bad . The guy taking orders in drive thru doesn't communicate properly. He does not confirm orders a bit rude.His reason was because he was also talking to another customer while taking my orders. On top of that he forgot our drinks ! So we went back inside to get it that took longer than it should've been. They ran out of it . Some of my friends decided to come over last night uninvited, and I didn't have anything in the fridge so I thought I could just stop by El Pollo Loco and get a family meal to take home. Worst mistake ever, when I got in there was only 2 people ahead of me, but by the time I got to order there was a huge line behind me. I ordered the largest size family meal that they have with all the side orders and went of to the side to wait for my food. I saw the people that were in front of me get the food that they ordered, so I thought it wont be long until I get mine. For about 10 min I didn't see any one get any orders out to customers, but once they started filling them again, it seems that they skipped me and started serving the people that were in line behind me, so I asked what happened to my order. After an additional 10 minutes they finally got my food ready and I was out of there. This was the longest that I have ever waited in any place to get my food. I was also disappointed that they changed the black beans, I used to love the BBQ black beans they were so yummy, now they have the new flavored black beans and all you can taste is cumin. When I got back home most of my friends were ready to go back home and I had to beg them to stay so I don't end up with left overs. read more
