Is this location under new management? Used to be one of the best El Pollo locations, but lately it just seems to get worse and worse. I usually come here once a week and pick up food for dinner. I go into the store to get my order, because without a doubt, literally every time something is wrong. And it's an easy order! Literally the order is taped to the bag, and yet somehow it's always wrong. I never made a fuss about it because I would catch it before I left the restaurant and the employees were so nice and quick to fix the issues. Tonight was no exception. Wrong items. But tonight, I was the only one at the counter, and yet no one seemed too interested in helping me, let alone acknowledging me. One employee walked right past me and after me trying to get their attention, continued to ignore me. Finally an employee came up, looking annoyed, and asked what I needed. When I told her the order was wrong, she questioned me if I actually had ordered the item. I then pointed to the order taped to my bag and said, yes, it's right here! Finally got what I needed and left. This is what we get for $20 hour service?! People, if you hate your job, get a new one! Don't take it out on customers! I'll drive another 15 minutes now, to a location where I used to go. This location in particular has been going through a lot of changes the past 2 years. From understaffing to long waits I recently went by a few days ago and all I have to say is wow! They may not be the best but they are definitely trying and I can see significant improvements. I was used to waiting forever and my order was expedited much quicker than a few months back! Fast and friendly service. I can see the staff is definitely trying. One thing that really stood out to me was the cleanliness of their lobby. No matter how understaffed they were from all the times I've gone I have always seen their lobby clean but today it was beyond clean! Yesterday my son and I decided to stop by and get a bite to eat. We order the 5 dollar combo/ tacos carbon. The lady took our order was nice but, when we got to the window to pay there was no napkins, or my sauce that asked for that kind of irritated me because why do you ask what kind of sauce I want but they don't put it in the bag. That's the least of it. I got home took out my food too see that the taco barley had chicken on it and then it was plan. I have order it a few times so I know that cilantro and onions come on it. So get it together. I called back. Spoke to a manager. I asked if I can get them remade the correct way. She said yes come in. I'll take down your name I go in. I tell them what happen that I spoke with a manager yesterday on duty but apparently she didn't write my information down so they couldn't do anything about it, so basically, I wasted my time talking to the manager for like 5 to 6 minutes explaining to her what happened to my food and then have to go down there to get it remade and still they can't help me out. Worst El Pollo Loco I've ever been to, the previous reviews can't be any more true. There is no integrity starting with management trickling down to the staff. I am amazed that no actions have been taken at this location, I will be calling corporate as well due to lack of communication regarding my experience. I waited 30-45 minutes on Friday night in the drive thru which was long but understandable being in the times we live in now, once I was able to place my order I asked the person to repeat it due to the fact he made me repeat myself several times as he was laughing/joking in the background. The workers response was "seriously" and I replied yes.. he then said we have your order right, we'll let you know when you get to the window. Being that he was probably frustrated with people and being behind in work I have him the benefit of the doubt, I waited another 10 minutes to get to the window and was told it'll be a while before my order was ready, I asked if I could add a couple crunchy tacos to my order and the worker at the window said no, they're only ordered online..you can order online and then knock on the door and we'll give them to you. I thought that was odd but again, the times we live in these days don't make much sense. I ordered the tacos and received confirmation that they'd be ready in 10 minutes, no big deal at this point I'm already over a hour in.. I received my food at the drive thru window and of course I checked the bag and of course my order was wrong. I pulled around the front to let them know my order was wrong and was greeted with attitude. I also let them know I had placed the order for the tacos which the young man said "it's going to be a while, we're working on other orders". I let him know it's all good, I'd wait. After waiting another 10 minutes the young man came to the counter and said we're out of tacos, I started to get frustrated at that point and I said it was fine, I'll just take a refund. The employee said because it was paid online he cannot give me a refund, I asked how I'd go about getting my money back and he said "just go online and press refund" which made no sense at all being that there is no refund option on El Pollo Locos website. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and he said "we don't have one". I asked for a shift lead or someone in charge and he said "you're talking to him". I asked for a managers name of phone number so I'd be able to contact them during the week, he refused to give me the managers name and walked away. I waited at the register for a few minutes until another young kid came up, I asked for the managers name and the young man's name who I was speaking to first, this kid said "I don't know my managers name or anyones name, I just started two days ago". I let him know that I seen them all wearing name tags, I'm asking for his name..he refused again and walked away. At this point I was over the top frustrated, I was then greeted by Sean who was as helpful as he could be. He took my info down and said his manager Whitney would be in contact with me. It's been two weeks and I still have not heard from her after leaving two messages and constant phone ringing. Sean also gave me the co workers names that were there that night; Omar, Raul and Joel. Not sure if those are 100% their names but those are what Sean gave. $15-$16 taken, not a big loss..this is more about customer service and righting the wrongs. This location is horrible, no accountability, no integrity..if you had this much time to read this novel, you have a few extra minutes to find a better place to eat. I'm bummed that this location hasn't bounced back from 2020. My daughter (6 yr old) loves the BRC burritos and every now and then, a chicken leg. In the last few months every time we go we have a issues. The BRC burritos are now reduced to the size of my thumb and middle figure fitting comfortably around the burrito. It's all tortilla! The chicken has been so over cooked that it's chewy and almost disintegrated on the bone. A few times our food was served so cold the cheese didn't melt, burnt rice, tortilla shell so crisp on the edges it was like a chip. Tonight, they didn't have tortillas . That shouldn't surprise me, they even don't have chicken at times to serve. I'm sad this is was has happened to El Pollo Loco.... This has to be the worst Pollo Loco I've ever had. I stopped by after work and the line was super long. I waited about 30 minutes for a Double Chicken Tostada Salad and one Crunchy Taco. I used to love those tacos before they discontinued them. I got my food and because I was so hungry I began to look for my taco. The first thing that got me was it felt like I was picking up empty foil. It was so light. So that prompted me to pull into a parking spot and check the taco. The bottom of the taco was broke, the shell was greasy and dark and there was a drop of meat, a few shreds of lettuce and cheese. It looked like a child's quesadilla it was so flat. I was so irritated! So I got out of my car and knocked on the window until someone opened the door. I wished I checked my tostada because that shell was disgusting as well. I realize there were 3 workers in there, all very young. I told a worker that this was unacceptable. She had me wait inside and they gave me two tacos for the inconvenience. Well, both of those were exactly the same as the one I took back to them. I will not be going to this El Pollo Loco anymore. The food quality at this one is horrible. I understand that some branches may have bad days but this one is consistently bad. Went Sunday night, 9/29/18, with my family. We went inside to eat and I was completely disgusted. Salsa bar was filthy, covered with anything and everything. Half of the salsa was gone and zero napkins. The tables inside were dirty and hadn't been cleaned all day. Food and liquids were all over the floor. Even the trays our food was served to us on had old food on them and were still wet from being "cleaned". Honestly could say I was in complete shock and disgust. While eating, I observed an employee exit the restroom and physically dig in the back of his mouth with his fingers, then proceed to the drink machine and salsa bar to refill items etc. This place is notorious for getting orders completely wrong and/or forgetting items in your To Go bag. It sad because it's our new shopping center and a a local place we want to support. But this place needs to step it up. Need to work on cleanliness and training. read more
