Honestly, this is THE most ridiculous establishment. Went there at 7:30pm and ALL THE DOORS were locked. I made it known that they were locked by pulling them several times, they're open until 10pm therefore they shouldn't be allowed to "lock up" at 730. Not going to bash the food, that was at least 1/2 way decent once they got my order correct. My review is simply bashing the intellectual level of the staff. If you go to this restaurant and want to substitute anything, make sure that you communicate that a substitute means "instead of" rather than "in addition to." I ordered the Chipotle Avocado Burrito, with sub avocado for the chicken, and omitted the cheese and sour cream. What received was a Chipotle Avocado Burrito with chicken and avocado, no cheese or sour cream. I bit into said burrito and much to my surprise, chicken. I thought maybe it was just one piece from cross contamination... nope, I opened up the burrito and found that the whole burrito was full of chicken. I went to the counter to ask for a replacement, and brought along my receipt which clearly stated sub Avocado, no sour cream & no cheese. The woman behind the counter said, "but it doesn't say no chicken" She proceeded to argue that it was my error, but they would remake it even though it was my fault for the misunderstanding. The team in this location is amazing ! Always friendly and nice and while it's so crazy pack! I always come here during my lunch and although it's so busy from 1pm-2pm my wait in the restaurant is 5 min. I've also done drive thru and they are pretty fast considering they have 20 plus cars in line. I really enjoy coming here. It's usually busy but they get your order out fast and right. And the fact that the employee are always nice and remain calm during a crazy peak time, I think is remarkable. Oh and the food is very delicious every time ! Especially the green salsa. Don't expect this place to get your order right and don't expect them to offer to replace it if they get it wrong. When I called on the phone to complain they told me that it's noisy and sometimes they can't hear very well. That was their excuse! I ordered double chicken and I didn't get it. It's clear that they grabbed someone else's meal and gave it to me but they wouldn't admit it and they wouldn't replace it. Today was the 2nd time I have been here, I do not think I will ever go back. The first time they forgot my chips with my Pollo Bowl. No big deal I went again and this time the crew was so bad. I asked the girl that took my order for some chipotle sauce and she looked at me like a deer in the headlight. She proceeded to give me the pico de gallo no I said the chipotle sauce. She went to the back then came back a said oh we ran out and proceeded again to give me pico de gallo. I will never set foot in El Pollo Loco again. They screwed up my order and refused to credit me because I was unable to bring the food back (since I live too far). I placed an order for a leg and thigh family meal and received a mixed piece meal. When I called back and spoke with the manager (Miguel) about what happened, all he said was "Well we repeated the order back to you and you said it was correct" no apology or anything. He was so rude, kept talking over me and I'm trying explain how they messed up the order, and would not give me my money back or replace the meal unless I brought back the original. When I mentioned that I would be contacting the corporate office regarding his behavior towards me, all he said was "OK, God bless you then", and then hung up the phone.
