I don't eat fast food normally, but when I do I try choose options that are somewhat healthy. El Pollo Loco is easy to order online and by the time I drive there from my job, it's ready to go. I like how they detail the nutritional facts and have lower calorie or low carb meals. I've had the taco lunch platters, but really love the double chicken avocado salad and the shrimp avocado salad - both only 380 calories. The Under 500 calorie menu is my favorite, but Lindora's "Lean for Life" menu is also great for selecting low calorie options. Since I'm watching my calories, these options and the others that they have - make eating out reasonable, when normally it's not. Not everything is healthy here, they have several items that are high in calories, fat or sodium - but at least you are aware of it and can get what you want. This place has pretty decent parking. The drive-thru is also good. Every time I've been here it's always consistent. They also send coupons in the mail. I love El Pollo Loco, it's my favorite fast food. However, this restaurant brings tears to my eyes. We sat down, there were only a couple other people there. Every single table was dirty. All 15 or so of them. There were about 6 employees. One was hiding in the bathroom texting. I know because I went in to wash my hands and she was startled. I came out and she was just outside the door behind hiding from the front counter, texting. While all the tables, sadly were dirty. All Pollo Loco's I've had the chance to visit taste just as great and that's usually something they don't seem to lack. Customer service is usually top notch and this one didn't disappoint at all! I hate when you take something Togo you assume they will give you plastic utensils and sometimes I still hesitate to assume but this one gave me everything I needed. Besides their awesome customer service their cleanliness stood out above all the locations I've ever visited even my hometown one. We've been customers since we moved here (which was four months ago) and their chicken nachos were always our favorites but we've recently noticed that in the weekends, the service isn't on par with the service on the weekdays. We usually use the driveway option and it's always 3-5 minutes till we get our food but today, it took so long and they even forgot some of our sauce sidings AND gave us a broken bag by covering up the hole with their hand! The birria tacos (I only heard my aunt say what it is) almost fell off! Then when we got home, the nachos didn't look like how it's always made in the weekdays; it looks like they were scarce on supplies and put a little bit of everything compared to the nachos in the weekdays. Most times in the weekdays, their service and everything is top notch. At times they'd forget to hear us though? But, at that time, they don't charge us for it since even if they forgot, at least we weren't charged for the missing items in the bag (today we were charged but there was nothing in the bag). El Poco Loko!..El Lorro Poko!....Chris Tucker couldn't say it right in Rush Hour which was hilarious, but speaking for myself, after a few drinks with some friends and getting ready to hit the town with your "Entourage" I know some food was needed and what better than some of your not "Typical" Fast Food "Pollo" and of you don't know what "Pollo" means it means, "Chicken" and this review is about The Crazy Chicken that's "El Pollo Loco" in "Spanish" 3/19/16 Flame Grilled Marinated Chicken sounded so good before going clubbing with the fellas. This location was the first location I ever visited and what better location to come visit when wanting to rekindle your love affair with the star of the show....the Crazy Chicken! I think it's rather crazy to call El Pollo Loco "Fast Food" as you see the workers preparing the chicken from scratch, and making all the ingredients..well at least most of them in a mannor you would see at places that aren't considered "Fast Food" establishments. On this visit I went for the 3 piece white combo $8.99, which consisted of 2 Chicken Breast and 1 wing. If you're familiar with El Pollo Loco, they flame grill the chicken which seems to seal in that great citrus marinade which not only compliments the skin of the chicken, but also gets into the meat which seems to retain it's juiciness making it a delight in every bite. I choose Pinto Beans and Mac and Cheese as my sides.....to be honest, nither was anything to rave about, lightweight wished I would have opted for the chicken only, or that I would of gotteb different sides. The included flour tortillas were prefect for wrapping pieces of meat and skin in with some of the spicy green salsa from the salsa bar. This place was kinda busy this night no lie and that may have been what contributed to the not super tidy state the restaurant was in upon my arrival. But I didn't let that effect my mind too much, the girl at the counter seemed like she had no clue what the menu was, guess she was new. I had to literally point to what I wanted on the various menus....No bueno yo! But at the end of the day I was pretty pleased with my meal. Cleanliness - 3/5 Service - 4/5 Food - 4/5 Will I visit again? I will say yes, because its nice to think outside the bun. Also to not have your food deep fried to oblivion and then sat in warmers. The chicken here is pretty darn tasty, and it would leave you feeling....not as guilty for eating out, as some may feel after eating at a fast food joint. In Conclusion, this place sits off the Summersville exit, in the little strip that is still considered "Pittsburg" across from the Century Shopping Strip Mall. In N Out, Del Taco, In Shape, Outback Steakhouse also share a home in this little strip oh and Chilli's does as well. I went to the Pittsburg CA El pollo loco for lunch, had the double chicken tostada, towards the middle of the meal, I found several hairs in the meal, I went to the counter and asked for a manager, pointed out the hair, they took the tray and tostada, didn't even apologize or offer a replacement, this is a honest warning, before the service and quality of the food was in question, now you need to check your food carefully to make sure it doesn't have hair or any other unsavory items included. 4:15pm on a Sunday & doors are locked tight. Tried several times to get in the eat (during open hours) and no one would open the doors. Had to wait until another customer was leaving to get in. Ten friends in my group, decided to try and find a quick place to eat after a movie. We wanted to dine inside and their website said open until 11:00.....DROVE OVER 14 miles to this place, only to find out that the indoor part of the restaurant closes at 10:00 pm. The pinto beans, mashed potatoes/gravy and salad tasted strange, AND OLD the chicken pieces are usually dried out, burned, leathery, and very small pieces. We order legs, thighs and breasts, and all of those pieces are always dried out and burned. We've put up with this terrible cooking quality for the last time,and will never visit this location ever again. They need new management and new cooks! Rude unprofessional cashiers. NO language barriers to blame- Im a native speaker so thats NOT the problem. Also, half the time the servers get the order wrong, and we have to return the meals to get the order right! They will give us the wrong side dishes, the wrong kind of tortillas , or will give us the wrong chicken pieces we did not order. Had a really nasty experience there a week ago. I ended up going around 8:50 PM on a Friday night and going inside the store. The El Pollo Loco app had let me know I had a deal or two that was expiring soon. I wanted to use the $5 deal - which stated in the app can use with the chicken bowl, classic tostada salad or the double chicken tostada salad. I opted for the later and ordered it and clicked redeem on the deal and asked the woman at the counter to please scan the deal. Curiously she refused. She explained, I don't see "double chicken" on the coupon redemption claim. I looked, she was right, it wasn't printed there but I told her I had read the deal carefully and before redeem was clicked, it was part of the deal. This seemed to agitate her and she snapped back that she knew what she read and didn't read double chicken salad. I asked if she was refusing to help me and refusing to scan the deal. She said she didn't see it so she wouldn't be helping me. Utterly confused, I ended up finally asking for her name, she said, why do you need my name? I told her so I could talk to her manager about her lack of customer service and she said, "I'm not giving you my name." So I whipped out my phone and took her picture while she tried to hide. She said, "you can't do that!!!" and I just shook my head. She disappeared in the back of the restaurant, another cashier took over and eventually I was able to have the app deal correctly scanned. Meanwhile, waiting for the food, rude cashier #1 comes out and tells me to move, I can't stand and wait for my food where I'm standing. I move to where she directs me and mention, the deal did scan, all you had to do was just scan it. She yells back I didn't have to take her picture...and basically keeps up a running barrage of talking back and never apologizing for her crap service and outright refusal to support the El Pollo Loco app. Her manager is just shaking her head as I explain my frustration. No apology, no concern and rude employee yelling at me on the way out the business...but finally I get my food...only it food poisons me that evening and I had stomach pains the rest of the evening. Left a report with corporate customer service, but have not heard back from anyone affiliated with El Pollo Loco within the week. Crap service, that gives you the craps big time. I'm probably never returning, and apparently neither is that employee - as I saw her a few days later at Del Taco now, as a "new" employee. read more

Went to the drive-through at night on 7/17/18. The lady in the drive-through window messed my order up a record four times. At first she gave me a soda that was out of syrup. Then she gave me the wrong order, twice. Then she argued with me about the wrong order, I showed her the receipt and she apologized. It wasn't the end of the world but then she forgot my tortillas a fork and knife and napkins. I'm trying to eat clean and I like this place because it has healthier food with the bowls. On 7/18 I went in and the young lady whose name I will leave out at the register skipped me. She was waiting for some kid to bring change back from his car to complete the transaction. Always a solid place for a burrito! Just purchased a chicken Avocado and it was good. Everything was cooked well and seasoned to perfection. Just disappointed they aren't open for inside seating. It's June 11th and most places are all open. This Covid deal is so frustrating - I still have yet to know anyone who has gotten the virus. Oh well we shall look back and see what this really caused. The food is good, the only thing I'm complaining about are the 3 tables they have outside. They are dirty and sticky, and one table has ants crawling all over it.
