Because it takes a while to get you food here, I'm not completely sure the place should be classified as fast food. Having said that the chicken is decent, and I like their BRC burritos. The macaroni and cheese is actually quite good for this type of place. I will not go through the drive thru here, as it can seem painfully slow at times when compared to others. The staff has always been friendly here, and the place is usually pretty clean. I would most likely eat here a little more often if it didn't take so long to get your food. read more

1st time ever going got chicken tacos, chicken was very delicious good seasoning and cook. We were given all the different sauces without having to ask so that was nice. Different salsa's were good. Visited Pollo loco in Turlock California today Pollo Loco is now advertising curbside pick up When I arrived at the location the curbside pick up sign stated to use their website for curbside pick up yet I could not find anywhere on the website that it indicated the use of the curbside pick up When I asked Inside for help with the app I was told by the manager that she doesn't know how to use the app and I would just have to pick up the food inside I am partially handicapped and it was very inconvenient for me to get out of the car and come inside to pick up my food They should not advertise curbside pick up if they are not able to provide that service read more

Today 07/12/2020 I threw my back out but still needed to feed my family so I placed an order to El Pollo Loco for delivery. When I got my food tell me why my sides were missing? I called them to say food from my order was missing. The girl who answered said oh I'm sorry you can come pick your sides up". Ummm I'm not sure why the reviews are so bad on this place. Maybe they were on their game the day I tried it. I had a chicken burrito that had black beans, rice, chicken, onions, bell peppers, sour cream and cheese. It was DELISH!! So I have had issues with this El Pollo Loco before, but today took the cake. I was in a line that was wrapped around the building due to how slow they are, but I was expecting that. When I ordered I specifically asked the guy taking the order to validate that they had brewed tea available. He looked at me like I was crazy, but used his headset to get confirmation that they had it. Now I am not crazy at all. Just the week before I ordered two brewed teas only to be told they were out once I got to the window. Since I don't drink soda and I hate flavored teas this was a big problem for me. I ended up taking the teas, but wanted to make sure I wouldn't have the same issue today. So I get to the window and the clerk, Amy R, was rude and dismissive when she told me they didn't have any brewed tea. I was upset and said I had specifically verified you had it and she just shrugged and said they ran out since confirmation, which means they lied about checking the tea level. When I said I don't drink anything else and she shrugged, asked if I wanted anything else and gave me my receipt and nachos with a rude have a nice night. I am very upset at this point. You could have asked me to wait while you brewed more tea, given me a discount or offered up something else in its place, but instead you took my money without giving me the value for what I paid for. The food is consistent across most locations. Our visit was during a busy dinner/holiday rush. The restaurant was not clean, no bussed tables, napkin dispensers were all empty, salsa bar was messy and when I looked onto the back bar it was also a mess-lettuce everywhere. This is an interesting place to eat. You can see dozens of chicken drum sticks, thighs & breasts cooking on a very large grill with flames searing the meat to perfection. You can order chicken or chicken with sides to go. We each opted to eat in & both had the 3 piece with 2 sides & a drink. They have a variety of sides. Some are a bit extra spicy. As a person that has both worked in the fast food industry and also suffers from food allergies, I was shocked by the attitude of El Pollo Loco tonight. We ordered food through Door Dash and were told via the app that no special instructions would be honored. What these people need to understand is that leaving certain items off a food product is not necessarily personal preference. Often times it can be a matter of life and death or at the very least sickness. It truly takes someone who has experienced the frustration and fear of food allergies to understand the plait of those who do. El Poco Loco needs to include this in training for their employees if they plan to succeed in this highly competitive industry. There are plenty of other fast food restaurants who take food allergies seriously and honor the requests of their customers. In this case especially, the customer is right. What can I say, I love their carne asada tacos. I always get mine with only avocado and they are great. The menu is great and their chicken is sooo good. The noise level takes a little getting used to because you can hear the guy chopping the chicken. The prices are great and always service with a smile. I am definitely a fan.
