Food is good but the lady at the drive through speaks incredibly fast and with a thick Latin accent. It took 4 tries before she understood my order and it still was not correct at the window. There aren't too many fast food options around the University that are fast, fresh and healthy but El Pollo Loco is one of them! I come here at least 1-2 times a week during the semester. They have a large variety of mexican dishes to choose from. The main thing I love about them is the way their grilled chicken tastes. It isn't the most flavorful chicken, but it is cooked to perfection!! I fix the flavor of the chicken by always dipping it into their cilantro dressing, yumm!! read more

I went through the drive thru and it was very fast. The workers were friendly and actually looked like they wanted to be there. I got in line today was very busy and what was attended pretty fast while I was in line I noticed that the manager had just been standing there and all the sudden she decided to help and she dropped the first item on the ground picked it up and tossed it in the garbage which was okay but the first impression leads off to the last impression and my point of view I got my burrito and it happened to be smaller than it usually is with one slice of avocado and this is after ordering an avocado chicken burrito I usually get about two slices minimum but this time there wasn't that's why I'm reading it at 2 * which is what it deserves for me going there every day sometimes doesn't pay off read more

I love Pollo loco but this is not the first time I've received my order wrong. I ordered a Shrimp Mango Avocado Salad and asked for no mango salsa. This time I was inside when I told them they got it wrong and asked if they could correct it. All they did to fix it was dump out the top half of my salad to take out the salsa, put a lid on it and walked it back to me. Come on, I know some people can be rude about wrong orders but I was no where near being mad about it, friendly advice Pollo Loco, if you're going to do that at least clean the bowl so it's not noticeable that you dumped out the mistake. read more

4 Stars for Fast-food. I really enjoy Pollo Loco, it's my go to place when I'm on the road or at work and want a quick, convenient meal without the typical fast foodiness . I really like the 2 piece combo, with grilled chicken and choice of 2 sides ( my favs are the black beans and the Loco salad, tortillas and drink. No matter where I am, the food is always hot and fresh, the salsa bar is a plus along with their creamy cilantro salad dressing. Their Chicken Tortilla Soup, is really satisfying on a cold day or on a day when you have a cold. I've always found the staff to be friendly and the restaurants to be clean and fresh. Regarding price, on average my combo is $7.99 - $8.99 everywhere, except in Turlock Ca location where it was a solid $3.00 more $10.99 - $11.99, (no this is no resort area) which I didn't appreciate but I certainly was not about to go next door to McDonalds. Overall El Pollo Loco remains my go to for food, staff, convenience and cleanliness. read more

For fast food, el Pollo Loco is great. I love that their food tastes fresh and has a lot of flavor than it. I especially like that they have options for people who want to live healthy lifestyles. There is a great under 500 cal menu that I order off of quite frequently. Everything that I've tried on that menu has been really good so far. I also use this restaurant for catering, which is really affordable and they go out of their way to make sure that you have everything that you need. There credit card machine was down but owner only had sign in order board. There was a long slow line that I had to wait in the drive through!!!! And I had no cash!!! Horrible, we tried this place out for the first time with high hopes, got a 8 piece family meal, no drinks included over 30$ . Food was okay . Edible but not great . The restaurant is dirty , workers walked the area with brooms n mop n never picked up the trash . Wasnt a little bit of trash on floor it was alot all over . Our first visit to El Pollo Loco on Countryside Drive, or anywhere. The drive thru wasn't busy on a Saturday at 5:30 pm. I placed my order with no problem. Upon arriving at the pay/pick up window the cashier read off a completely wrong order. Upon clarifying, I paid and the correct order was received. Got home and the food was just as I expected, fresh and delicious. I shall return. read more

I went to El Pollo Loco in Turlock this morning 06/14/2017 and ordered their new over stuffed grilled chicken , bacon and cheddar cheese quesadilla. When I received my food I was in a hurry so I got it to go and planned on eating while I drove back to my job. When I opened it . I noticed didn't seem overly hot. When I took my first bite . It was gross! It was cold in side . The cheese was not even slightly melted . I started to go back inside when I met a manager at the doorway. I explained the situation to her . She apologized and said that they have been having trouble with their grill and they have requested a new grill , but haven't gotten one. That's it , no let me give you your money or possibly something else . I would not suggest eating at this El Polo Loco they obviously don't know or don't care about safe serve food temp or how the treat employees. read more

Chicken is great, whether in burritos, tacos, or by itself. Restaurant is really clean. I have been eating at Turlock location for a few years. My main issue is that this location is not well stocked. They often run out of serrano peppers, which I love to eat with my meal. They also run run out of things like chicken tortilla soup and salad dressing early in the evening. They recently changed their menus. Before, on combos, you would get entre, a side (fries, beans, vegetables, etc), and a drink. Now you get entre, a small bag of "homemade" tortilla chips (6-7 chips), and a drink. Times are hard, but cut the lame gimmicks with the combo/chips move. Just raise your prices at leave it at that-it is still worth the price. If they kept up stock they would get a higher rating from me. read more

This is a fast food restaurant chain and as such, I usually don't rveiew them. Nothing snobbish in that statement, I just think pretty much everyone knows what is good and bad with the fast food chains. That being said, this place is an exception. I can eat at El Pollo Loco nearly every day and never get tired of it. In fact, I have never tasted anything bad in this place. Their fire grilled chicken becomes quite addictive after a while and nothing else can compare. This is true about all the locations I've visited (Modesto, Turlock and Stockton). The tortilla soup is about the best I've ever tasted.There is however one drawback you needt o be aware of. About 70% of the time, soemthing will be left out of the order. For that reason, I've never used the drive thru. I suspect this is a result of the fact the menu is so large and varied for a fast food type establishment, it lends itself to mistakes. Whatever the reason, check your order to make sure it's all there. When it's not, you can usually expect a smiling face and apology from the staff who are never less than helpful and friendly. Whatever minor flaws they may have, if this place doesn't deserve 5 stars, no one does. read more

Rude Mexican Manager!!!!! Usually have a great experience at El Pollo Loco but after today was feeling iffy.. It was my birthday this month so I recieved a free coupon for a chicken tostada that expires in 30 days from the day I received it! They totally forgot my order , had me waiting there for 25minutes untill I finally told them I have been waiting for so long and if my order was done. Well the girl who took my order didn't even give me a receipt so the order didn't go to the back for them to prepare... She apologized so wasn't too mad about her! The manager gave me a drink for waiting so long and his reply pissed me off he said " here, I guess since it's your birthday " just the way he said it and was acting made me feel like he thought I was lying!!!
