Yelp won't allow me to give zero stars so I guess this'll do. My family and I ordered from this establishment on Bear Valley and the 15fwy. It was a long day at work and we got home way too late to cook. EVERYTHING was prepared sloppy and disgusting. We ordered 4 tostada salads and the lettuce was old and wilted. The chicken was ice cold and the rice was hard. On top of that the tostada was soggy and disgusting like it had been sitting for several hours. It had not crunch to it whatsoever. We also ordered 4 of their crunchy chicken tacos. The tacos were so filled with lettuce they had literally ZERO chicken inside them. After I finished pulling out the almost fully cup of lettuce out of the tacos I was left with an empty overcooked burned tasting taco shell. When we picked up the food we were told they were still working on our order but we sat for 30 more minutes without being addressed so the service is terrible as well. We absolutely will NOT be back to this el pollo loco. They will take your money and DO NOT care about the customer by any means. Please please PLEASE do not go here if you want any form of quality food. You will be disappointed and will have wasted your money. Go ANYWHERE else but here. So disappointed with my order today. I've been to this location and few times and everytime it seems to get worse. Today I order taco salads and the crispy chicken tacos and both were disappointing. The tacos had more lettuce than anything else. The taco salad was also filled with more lettuce, hardly any cheese, beans or rice. The avocados looked brown. Not to mention I placed the order and sent my son to pick it up. When he walked in he asked for the order and was told they were working on it. After 20 minutes he was finally given his food, after 5 other people walked in and ordered and got their food first. This was really disappointing, especially since we paid almost $100 for food. What really bothered us was how many basic ingredients are considered "extras." I ordered a torta and found out that beans, avocado, and cheese all cost extra. At most Mexican restaurants, those are pretty standard ingredients that are already included, especially in something like a torta. The same thing applies to the burritos. Cheese is extra, sour cream is extra -- it feels like almost everything beyond the meat and tortilla comes with an added charge. By the time you add the ingredients that most places normally include, the price goes up quite a bit. We understand restaurants have rising costs, but this felt more like nickel-and-diming customers than simply adjusting menu prices. It's unfortunate because the food was actually good, but the constant add-ons took away from the experience. Sadly, because of that, we probably won't be coming back. One star because we actually like the food. But if it is too expensive to come back, sorry but we can't leave a better review.
