I ordered the super fries with al pastor. I sat down and in about 5 minutes my order was ready. I was surprised to say the least and no wonder my food tasted bland. First of all it was a huge portion and for the price it would have been worth it. The fries underneath were too white like they needed another minute or two in the frier and the meat just didn't stand out it was drowned out by the watery guac and glob of sour cream they threw on top. WHERE'S THE BEEF? Hubby ordered a beef burrito, no rice and extra cheese for my at $14.25 + $.95. When he got home with our food and after several bites, I discovered there was no beef in the burrito. I ate it because I only had a bagel early in the morning and it was now 3:00. I called at 3:21 and spoke with Anna. After being put on hold several times so Anna could confer with co-workers. I was told I should check my order before leaving (which means my husband is supposed to unwrap the burrito to see if there is beef in it), I should bring back the burrito to show there is no beef, or I should take a picture of the burrito to show there is no beef. We paid $15.20 for a bean and cheese burrito. We generally eat here twice each week. We will not longer eat at this location. read more

Went here because I was trying to find a place open for tacos, stumbled on them. The restaurant was PACKED; no seating, cleared slowly. Placed my order, waited about 10mins. The young lady at the cashier was super friendly. The meat on the tacos (carne asada) WAS BOMB!!! But the actual shell the meat was in, the taco shell, WAS TERRIBLE. It was hard, and not cooked well at all. We ended up eating the meat out the tacos with a spoon. You can tell in the photo them shells HARD and dried out. read more

Food is always 10 out 10! BUT strongly do not recommend going after 8 PM when they close at 9 PM. Staff starts cleaning and putting away the salsa bar at 8 and at 8:30 sharp, they start mopping the floors hinting for you to leave. Food keeps us coming back but not the staff. read more

It's been a long time since I've been here and I remember how amazing the food was. It's just okay now. The ambiance in the restaurant is great! It really does feel like you're eating in someone's home or kitchen. The service is also great and they were very quick with the order. The food was meh. The tacos were super dry and I was surprised at how dry they were. Not even cheese, lettuce and tomato could save it. The refried beans were just okay. The rice did taste fresh. Amazing!!! Being from San Diego, it's hard to ever find a taco shop that delivers the same quality Mexican food while out of town...but let me tellllll yoooouuuuu, this place hit the spot! We came for a breakfast burrito and you could already smell the delicious food from outside prior to entering. Customer service was excellent, the lady at the counter was very helpful and patient with our many questions. Now the food was so good! Their burritos are huge and tasty. I'm pretty sure anything else on their menu tastes just as good. I had to write this review because of the awful experience here. First off the lady taking my husband's order today (4/13) started the conversation saying "WHAT DO YOU WANT" so rude. We could not believe it. She watched him like a hawk at the salsa bar with a face of disgust like she had a personal issue with him even though he was so nice and polite. -100/10 for service, the worst customer experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Finally the food was disgusting. We only ordered a carne asada burrito and it was All beans and nasty dry meat. Never will I waste my time by coming here again. I hope the person at the front counter gets talked to about this experience because my husband felt so disrespected that he insisted we write this review. Tried this spot driving by. I ordered the chicken Taco beans and rice combo with a Chicken Enchilada on the side. The Taco was very crispy. Everything was flavored very well and the serving was very filling. The wife ordered the Chicken Taquito rice and bean combo. She gave it a 10 outta 10. They had plenty of guacamole on the Taquitos I'm more of a ground beef kinda guy and they only serve shredded beef along with chicken and Carne Asada. I Highly recommend this place. Amazing. Came here Saturday morning after a rough night for their burritos. I also got locals to vouch for this place, they recommended this place as the best near where I was staying. They're a minimally sized shop but enough to have 3-4 parties to dine in. SUPER fast service. I think I only waited about 5 minutes before my order was ready. Got their Al pastor, huevos rancheros, breakfast, and California burritos. All had massive volume and super flavorful. Their spicy salsa is great too! I cut each burrito into quarters and split among 4 and we still had leftovers. Would definitely come back! They do celebrate holidays so call ahead if you're not sure if they're open. read more

Went there and paid $15 for a Carne Asada torta. If you like a torta with very little meat then this is the place for you went back there to let them know the small portion of meat that I got on my torta. They showed me a salsa size cup and said it's weighed out and this is how much meat was on your torta what a joke I paid $15 for a lettuce and bean sandwich with a extra thin layer of meat. Although I was hesitant at first, I'm glad I tried it out! I got their lengua torta and it was really good!! The size and portion are big, and they have self served sauce on the side as well. After a long hot day on the golf course I had a hankering for a good burrito for dinner with some chips to fill up my belly. I have been to the one in rancho mirage so I decided to try this branch because it was on the way back to the hotel. The place was empty but it was takeout out delivery only. I ordered a carne asada burrito with no beans (don't ask) and some chips with 4 oz guacamole. The price was very reasonable. I got out back to the room and started to chow down on the burrito. Normally it would be wrapped in foil but they wrap it is paper which was interesting. The rice has a sour taste from the lime juice they put in it which made out interesting without being overpowering. The guacamole was very good and the free salsa and chips was nice too. We had a great lunch here before checking in to nearby Marriott Shadow Ridge. We drove in from LA, stopped at the Cabazon outlets and were looking for a casual sit down option for lunch for our big group. First impression was a good one as the place was busy and we were greeted nicely by the ladies behind the counter. I went with the 2 taquito & enchilada plate. I went with beef for the taquitos and chicken for the enchiladas. This plate also comes with rice and refried beans. The taquitos were great. They were covered in guac and shredded cheese and that hit the spot. Glad I ordered that. The chicken enchilada was good too. The rice and beans were on point. Also ordered were steak tacos and chicken hard shell tacos. The chicken taco was tasty with a good smoke flavor on the chicken. Good stuff! Customer service at El Ranchito was great. It was our first time there and the ladies that work there were kind enough to let us figure out what we were going to order. There were a lot of us. We took up about 4 of the 8 tables/booths they had on one side of the restaurant. There were about 3-4 more chair/table types right by the door. Restaurant is clean, food was very good, workers were constantly cleaning up after people, restrooms were clean and plenty of parking in the shared lot out front. Cant ask for more. read more

I began patronizing El Ranchito the first week they opened and they were fantastic. Unfortunately, as with many things, quality began to decline. After today's visit, I shall not return. The first thing I noticed when I walked in the door was that is was empty at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday evening. I recall when the line was out the door. I ordered one of my favorites from El Ranchito, the Carne Asada plate. To go. Maybe that was the problem. If I had stayed to eat, I would have sent it back. Although it's been two years and multiple times of trying to satisfy my craving, with a El Ranchito product, I continue to be let down by the lack of service quality of food among other things when I come to this location. The fries were over cooked my order was wrong and the beans were dry. I don't know why I continue to do this to myself. The palm desert location opens at nine I must be more patient.
