We have been coming to this establishment for some time. The food and service have been good until today, unfortunately. :( After my husband placed a to-go order and came home, we realized that our orders were wrong. We called and explained the situation, and we were told to bring the burritos back and that new ones would be made for us. We brought the food back to the restaurant, but then we were told that our orders weren't wrong at all and that no new food would be made for us. Despite disagreeing with the claim that the orders were fine, we just decided to return the orders and get our money back. However, we were told that the restaurant's policy did not allow refunds. I was then told to give my personal number and that the owner would call me back to discuss the situation. Unfortunately, I never received a call, which is why I've decided to leave an honest and fair review of our family's experience. We will take our business elsewhere, as the customer service and professionalism have been well displayed here at El Ranchito Taco Shop in Old Town Temecula. :( read more

Review of recent dining experience: We are frequent customers and usually enjoy visiting your restaurant. The service has consistently been friendly and attentive. However, the food quality has been inconsistent lately, and I wanted to share our experience from today. We ordered a carne asada burrito and a carne asada fajitas burrito. Unfortunately, the fajitas burrito had so much fat in the meat that I lost my appetite. I ended up only eating some of the other burrito instead. It sometimes feels like there may be different chefs because the quality can be great one visit and disappointing the next. We really like your restaurant and want to keep coming back, which is why we thought it was important to let you know. My favorite taco shop ever my comfort food and they're popping up all over the place. We live here and more often go with my husband. Since I'm not comfortable going alone. We order the same items all the time. The young woman who works in the front has a very poor attitude towards me every single time she has taken my order. I am a grandmother and I asked my husband was it something that I have said or done. Final straw was when I brought my 35 year son in and when he sat down was appalled by her lack of respect and customer services and that's why I felt it to be imperative that she was recognized. I hope this improves and thank you the rest of the staff who knows this is wrong and take the time to make me feel welcome read more

We have been coming here for many years; the food is good and so are the prices. They are generous with portions as well. My only complaint is that the guac is a bit bland and they sometimes fry the tacos a bit too much. Otherwise, it's all good! I do agree they have gotten stingy with the salsa cups, but you can go refill them, so I don't see that as a big deal. The place is always clean and well stocked and the employees are always personable and pleasant. Overall, a very good taco shop. read more

Their food is generally quite good here, and the prices are reasonable. Once in a while they overcook the tacos, which annoys me. Otherwise their food is great! Love the taquitos and cheese enchiladas! They do though cheap out on giving you many of the very tiny salsa cups and napkins, but it is not a good enough reason not to go. We are regulars! The carnitas and beans were in the middle but the lettuce was still crunchy. Got a cheese enchilada plate and churros too. Hummm... The requested verde sauce? Not so good. It was described as med heat which we could not detect. The sauce was somewhat sweet and not good at all. Too bad. The beans were really good but the rice? Just ok. Prices? A bit more than a couple other Mexican restaurants I go to. That taco salad though? Really good. .
