The venue already had a rustic charm, meaning we did not have to do a lot in terms of decorating and there were great spots for sunset photos. Ceremony and reception areas are right next to each other, so our guests did not have to go all over the place. Tracey was so amazing and provided us with other vendors we needed, information, and made sure the day ran smoothly. I was not stressed or worried about any details at all! Her and the staff also worked with us to include important traditions to our reception, which made the day that much more special. If we had an idea, we were able to talk it out and get advice from Tracey and the staff, as opposed to more restrictive or closed off venues. We felt so taken care of and I would 10/10 recommend this venue if you are looking to get married.

He explained everything without making me feel clueless, and somehow made it feel like we were just hanging out instead of being on my first trail ride. The ride through the vineyards was SO pretty and peaceful. It honestly felt like I was in a movie. David also stopped to take a ton of photos for us, which I appreciated because I could actually stay in the moment without worrying about getting the perfect picture. If you've been debating booking this, just do it. It's such a fun experience whether you've ridden before or not, and I'd 100% go back.

Our tour guide, Julie was great at going over the do's and don't of being around them. Also, she shared beautiful stories of how this all started and information about Alpacas. They were all so cute and well behaved (didn't get spit on) haha. I apologize that I can not recall the name of the great woman who showed us how their coats are handled. I think I was so intrigued with what she was sharing that I didn't catch her name. With that said, it actually was my favorite part! If in the area, I would recommend booking this! Great for all ages :)

Started with a short presentation about the facility and alpacas, then on to the visits. We had a blast getting to feed them and petting them occasionally. Apparently they aren't real fond of it, but you can get a head rub in while they eat. They have such great personalities and are fun to be around. We also got to spend some time getting a lesson on the process of spinning alpacas fur from Nancy. Such a great job showing us how it is done. They also have a small gift shop you can visit after for some really cool alpaca products, post cards, and such. This was an unbelievable experience that I would highly recommend. We are already planning to go back with other family members. Please, give this place a visit!!!

The important thing to note here is that they do a lot of weddings! Towards the beginning they were undergoing a lot of changes within staff and it was difficult initially to contact them or get a response which was extremely frustrating. Once it got closer to our wedding day we got a new coordinator named Tessa and she basically saved my sanity because from that moment on I had no issues and felt so prioritized. Be patient with them in the beginning because you're one of many brides they speak to on a daily basis. Once you're wedding day is actually there, it will be worth every single penny. The food was amazing, the DJ is so good and attentive, our day of coordinator Hayley was also really nice and Victoria made sure to ask me if I needed anything she was there to make it happen. I can't stress enough how incredibly beautiful our wedding was and every single guest told us the pictures of the venue we sent did not do it justice. Also, get the horse carriage it's such a beautiful moment I shared with my dad then with my husband. We saw Tessa the next day when I went to pick up some things we left behind and she asked where we were going for our honeymoon and literally within the hour of us leaving she emailed us so many great ideas and recommendations. Lake Oak Meadows is lucky to have someone like her that is so kind, reassuring, goes above and beyond expectations, and genuinely you can tell she loves what she does. Thank you to everyone who helped create our magical day sorry if I was a stressed wreck initially but you guys definitely delivered and made me look good because like I said I can't plan anything accordingly. To see how great it turned out you guys definitely know how to make everything feel perfect. 12.2.21

Grab a bottle of their Grand Cuvée Reserve if you want something bubbly or my personal favorite the 17 Dolcetto Reserve (an 88point). MMM baked fruit and toasted oak. The property itself feels peaceful the second you arrive. The lake, the oak trees, the open sky -- it all comes together in a way that feels natural and romantic without trying too hard. There's something about being surrounded by rolling hills and water that just makes the moment feel bigger and more meaningful. One of the BEST parts about Lake Oak Meadows is how many perfect little spots there are. You can walk along the lake at sunset, find a quiet corner under the trees, or use the rustic barn and open fields as your backdrop. The light in the evening is especially stunning -- soft, golden, and perfect for photos you'll look back on forever. It doesn't feel crowded or overly formal. It feels calm. Intimate. Like you can take your time and really be in the moment. That's what makes it such a special place to ask such an important question. Everyone was really friendly, and they helped us feel at ease with the horses. I even learned how to tie a lose knot and how to brush my horse. When you get here, the ranch is huge but the directions are really clear about where to go and what to do. When you sign up for the ride they ask you questions about your experience with horses and use that to pair you with the best horse. For those who have none and have never been on a horse this is a great place to start. The staff are really knowledgeable about horses and are great at teaching you how to ride and control the horse. Also, the horses are highly trained for years and years so riding them is very easy and safe. The ranch itself is gorgeous with amazing views!! At the beginning of the lesson the horse they gave me to ride was taken to the round pen to exercise out some of his energy, which I thought was kind of odd. Then I was told to get on the horse. As soon as I swung my leg over the saddle to mount the horse, he started bucking. I ended up behind the saddle sitting on the horse's rump struggling to stay seated but then finally went flying off. I was really surprised that I was given a horse like that because this was the first time I had ever been there. I tried to get on again and the horse tried to buck again. Someone grabbed his head and I was finally able to get on the horse. After that he was fine but I had some massive bruises the next day. I think Green Acres needs to have better trained horses.

To know especially that these are rescued animals and are being taken care of so carefully, giving us the privilege of being able to give them our love as well, it was a heartwarming experience. Plenty of free parking available right infront of the sanctuary. There is a cute little shop attached to the sanctuary, where you can buy their handmade truffle chocolates which are so delicious (coming from someone who isn't a fan of truffle chocolates), fresh farm eggs, honey, and other delicacies. With your zoo "ticket" you get 2 free samples of their chocolates and a hefty bag of feed for the animals. The animals are mostly in their own pens, with some together. There's even a couple of the pigs you'll find out of pens, just hanging out on the property, laying beside the building. You're able to go into the tortoise pen and feed/pet him as well, 2 people at a time inside the pen, as he does get anxious. You're not able to feed all of the animals, but for the most part you can. Each pen has a sign for which animals are ok to feed/pet and which are not. They are very calm and friendly, as long as you are too. They take the feed very gently and don't bite your fingers. On the weekends they offer pizza made fresh for the visitors, and have plenty of covered outdoor seating options to enjoy. They also offer wine tasting, but we did not partake, as we had just left a winery, but I'm sure it is quite enjoyable as well. Definitely a must stop if you're in the area and it's a 5 minute drive from the wineries!

It's probably better in the fall/winter since there's no shade and the sun was hot. We couldn't see the tortoise since he was in his house and no one was around to let us in the pen. The chocolate truffles are great; we bought some of those.
