I was on my way to find the Burger King in Moses Lake, but ended up taking the wrong restaurant and found El Rodeo. Being a big fan of Mexican food, I decided why not check out the Rodeo. We were promptly served chips and salsa and something that looked like a spicy salad. I don't know what it was, but it was tasty. The corn chips tasted freshly made cause they were still warm/hot when we were munching on them. I ended up going with their lunch special of chimichanga and tomales. The plate came out with a good portion of mexican rice and beans, and both of the entrees were covered in cheese, but it was really tasty. How could you pass up flavorful food with cheese. The service & food is excellent. We love the decorations, some are very unique & artwork is so much fun to look at while waiting for the food. It is ALWAYS busy here, the parking & restaurant are consistently packed. One of our favorite places to eat & less than 5min away from home, so easy as well as convenient to get take out. I even laughed with our waitress and told her this was THEEE most Americanized-GringoEsqe- Mexican food order we'd ever placed... But we just wanted something kinda small, and simple and fast. Boy did they deliver! It's safe to say, next time I go, I could try one of the more traditional dishes and I know it would be yummy. I also had a Cadillac margarita. Service was awesome, the food was expertly prepared, and Flash lightning fast ! We sat down and ordered, and I swear it probably only took a mere 7 minutes for our 3 platters to arrive. Everything was super piping-hot... Which is exactly how we like it. Our server was attentive, and so warm and friendly. Pretty good restaurant. The portions were nice but I couldn't finish! I had 2 meals out of this dish. The meat could've been seasoned a little better. The chicken seemed slightly bland. However, the veggies were grilled well! The rice and beans were great too. Next time I would ask for more rice. The plate was very bean heavy! My meal also came with a full bag of chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and the salsa was chilled! I'd come back and maybe try the enchiladas or tacos next time. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. We ordered Camrones Apretalados at $20.50 a plate, when our food was delivered she said the plates are hot be careful, it was the only thing hot, our beans and rice were cold our shrimp was either very old or very overcooked and also cold. I will say our tortillas were warm but other than that it was the worst Mexican food we have ever started to eat. I hope we don't get sick!! We did have a nice waitress who seemed to give good service but even after I told her my beans were cold and she knew we weren't eating our food we got stuck paying full price. Won't recommend this place to anyone and won't eat there again when I visit Moses Lake, give me Taco Bell. read more

Great home style Mexican family style food! The restaurant has a warm, friendly ambience.

Before being seated we asked if they accept mobile pay. The guy who seated us said "yes, like Apple Pay" I said yes. We ate mediocre "authentic Mexican" food. The food was hard and bland which was not the worst part. We felt very rushed. Once I needed to pay the person said they actually did not accept Apple Pay and that the chip from my card wasn't working. I had to drive to the bank and take cash out in order to pay. I used the chip to take out the money from the bank. Therefore, I knew it worked. Would not recommend. read more

Ordered the Fajita combo. Food was good; however.......Beef and chicken we not proportional.....we were NEVER asked if we needed anything else or a refill on our drinks! Don't order the "Gold" margaritas, as they taste like a regular one. If you're going to splurge, This is not the restaurant to do it at. The food was edible & the service was okay. Our waiter threw the menus onto the table & expected us to be ready to order at the same time we ordered our drinks. I ordered the "Molcajete" if you are familiar with this dish you know it comes in an actual Molcajete at every restaurant EXCEPT El Rodeo apparently. Instead they brought out a tiny dish full of bell peppers a few pieces of steak, chicken & if I remember correctly 4 shrimp. My sibling ordered a quesadillas probably the least presentable quesadilla I have seen. My mother ordered steak fajitas that were dry. I added a picture of the dish they brought me & a picture of a past restaurant I've gone to that served the proper Molcajete dish. Enjoy! read more

I was a little skeptical of other reviews pegging this as a good Mexican restaurant with four stars, but occasionally the reviewers get it right. I mean, sometimes reviewers give 4 or five stars to Taco Bell and McDonald's, right? While El Rodeo isn't world-class cuisine, it's a very good family Mexican restaurant serving tasty food. We both ordered the chicken carnitas and margaritas. The margaritas wer probably from a machine or a jug, but still good. The carnitas, however,, delivered flavor without excessive seasonings or salt. You can taste the food! You'll get plenty of tortillas to go with the meal and they're served nice and hot! The service is friendly, efficient and fast. You can often tell if a place is good by the number of locals dining. El Rodeo has earned its stars! (Don't bother eating the little, soggy tortilla chip smothered in whipped cream and syrup they bring with the check. But extra points for the amusing, kitschy decor and cleanliness.) read more

This is about the only place we go when passing through Moses Lake. Solid Mexican food with decent prices and large portions. This is very much a locals restaurant, which is always a good sign! It can get very busy, but service is always top notch and very speedy. When we were there last week, we fed our family of four on (I think it was called this) the El Rodeo platter for under $18!! It came with carne asada, chicken, sauteed mushrooms and prawns (delish), choice of beans, tortillas and rice. We saved the extra money for their MONDO margarita to share, which was quite good. This little place serves big meals. We stopped in for a look around Moses Lake because we spent some time here 15 years ago on the chuckwagon racing circuit. It's a neat little town and we enjoyed ourselves but we were getting hungry. The whole family loves Mexican food although in different varieties of heat. We sat down, ate the warm corn chips and enjoyed what seemed to be Mexican coleslaw. Then came the tough part, the menu. It was a big menu and eventually we all gravitated towards the Carne Asada. I loved the retried beans, the pico de gallo was fresh and tasty, the beef was flavorful and juicy and the guacamole passed the test. The meal was great. A great little stopping point on our way along I-90. The food was filling, the service friendly, and the ambience... well, everything you'd expect in a Mexican restaurant catering to Americans. Service was prompt. The chips are store bought, and the salsa a little too much tomato paste for my taste. They did have this interesting pickled vegetable thing with a little jalapeno heat which elevated the chips and salsa a notch. Hubby had the chicken super burrito which was big and filling (enough for lunch the next day.) I had the steak something or other which was advertised as a "prime rib" cooked on the grill with beans and rice. I think it was actually a ribeye equivalent dipped in A1 sauce and seared on the grill. However, it was cooked perfectly and was very tender with very little fat on it. I judge Mexican restaurants by their rice: whichever is closest to my Aunt's famous rice gets good marks by me, and this one had very good rice. The beans were good, hot and covered in cheese. I enjoyed the guacamole which was probably freshly made (although kinda unnaturally bright green). The margarita was nothing to write home about (more mix than tequila) but still refreshing. They give you this cinnamon chip with strawberry and whipped cream topping as a finish to your meal along with the check; just a little sweetness to cleanse the palate as you end the meal. If you're on I-90 and looking for a filling meal, I would suggest you stop here. Good price, good food, and a nice relaxing stop off the highway. read more

This is our favorite Mexican Restaurant in Moses Lake. The food is great and they have very quick service.

First off, their prices are absolutely ridiculous. This review is mostly reflected from the price of the food for the quality. Their service was great. I kept wondering why the food was so expensive. I paid $18 for a burrito fajitas after tip. It looked appealing, but the burrito was mostly beans and rice with maybe 6 cubes of steak. The best things on the plate were the bell peppers and onions. Just very underwhelming and if I'm going to pay that much I expect a higher quality and more meat. read more

Hands down the best rice and beans I have had at ANY restaurant. They were able to seat our party of 5 in a timely fashion. We all order different things and got our food within 10 minutes of ordering. It was small and intimate. The staff was kind and the service was prompt. It was crazy to see that tiny place fill up in a matter of 20 minutes during the dinner rush. Yum! read more
