So many Mexican restaurants for such a small town. I stopped overnight and was craving a big messy plate of food and found it at El Rodeo. I placed my order to-go and it was ready in less than 10 minutes. When I got back to my motel room, I was surprised at how much food they gave me. I ordered the enchilada relleno combination w/rice & beans. They filled the plate with yummy beans, rice, enchilada, and relleno + lots of chips, salsa, and two fresh tortillas! There was enough food to feed two adults. Needless to say, I couldn't eat it all and had leftovers for breakfast. Now the reason I am not giving this 5-stars is the relleno. It was the omelet style and seemed a little rubbery. I prefer the stuffed pepper and wished their online menu had specified the type of relleno. Still, I would visit El Rodeo often if I lived in Moses Lake. I can't comment on the service because I ordered to-go. The restaurant and parking lot appeared clean. read more

3 of us had lunch here on a business trip to Spokane. It had been a very long day made worse by bad traffic so it was a much needed break. The service was outstanding: greeted by friendly people, seated promptly and served delicious food very very quickly. I had a light lunch of the small taco salad as I have to watch my carbs and it was very good although I hated having to not eat the tasty taco shell LOL. Our super friendly and I might add beautiful waitress(who was also super helpful in making menu recommendations) brought us a wonderful churro snack and then we split the fried ice cream, which was also wonderful. Just the kind of mid day meal needed on a long, hot drive through Eastern Washington. I have to also have to say that the refried beans were excellent and I especially enjoyed the warm chips/salsa and cabbage slaw which I rarely see at restaurants. read more

Best Mexican food I've had in a long time. I had the El Rodeo Special: carne asada was amazing; the chicken was good; the tortillas tasted home-made. The only complaint was that the prawns were a little fishy and overlooked, but nothing major. This place seems to specialize in steak, and it is definitely the thing to order...char-broiled to perfection. There is an unusual lack of slow-cooked pork options (i.e. pork carnitas), but they made me a believer in carne asada. The rest of the table also greatly enjoyed their meals. A good Mexican food joint. I had good friendly service and my booth was clean. Good start. They brought a big basket of chips and salsa and a pickled cabbage salad. I was hungry and ate it all. It went great with my cold Negra Modelo. Next up was the carne asada. A large plate arrived with very nicely grilled skirt steak, some whole beans and rice. A lot of everything. Steak was very tasty and grilled perfectly. Beans and rice were beans and rice. A very local clientele as people were coming and going and knew each other. I gotta say. It was pretty good. They make a great pico and salsa. The salsa has just the right amount of kick and the pico has a nice, almost dry consistency. Hubby had huevos rancheros. He said the sauce was kind of perfect. He wasn't very descriptive...it was just perfect and the plate was spotless so it must have been good. I had nachos. They were good but truthfully nachos are a bad indicator since they are kind of hard to mess up. We also had flan which was killer! My one ding is for the couple of vegetarian options. As a vegetarian I find it really frustrating that things are called vegetarian when they aren't. Both the rice and beans have lard in them so beware. Otherwise, solid good food. read more

Id go back, but I did not think it was anything fantastic. My salad was on a bed of iceberg lettuce, the chicken very tasty. My husbands meal was OK. The steak in his tacos were obviously marinated in A1 sauce, not sure how authentic that is, but it did taste good. The rice was a little dry and I had to send my sangria back. The service was great and very friendly, the portions gigantic. I'm sure there is something on the menu that you will like as it had many options. read more

Outstanding Mexican Food and large portions. I can safely advise sharing unless your dining partner or you have an exceptionally large appetite or would like leftovers. I had the Camarones Monterey the first time and Chili Relleno the second time. Both were freshly prepared and served up piping hot. Next time I will do the lunch special. Two people can dine for under $15 which would include a tortilla dessert, a nice tip and a soft drink to share. Avoid the Chili Colorado. It's tough. Great service. We were hungry after a long day at the Grant County Fair (too many hours since the last Space Burger), so we looked up the closest Mexican place with the best reviews, and voila: El Rodeo. The minute we stepped foot inside the doors, we were greeted by the host, who led us to our table immediately. We were only seated for a moment before our waitress brought us water and chips and salsa with surprisingly (in a good way) spicy pico de gallo. My boyfriend and I were tempted by the margaritas--he chose the blackberry and I went with the kiwi. Although neither tasted anything like the fruit it was named after, they were cold and delicious, which was all right by us. The food came quickly--they mean business here! The portions were huge, much too big to finish, but delicious. Our waitress gave us a small complimentary dessert: a sugar-coated tortilla chip for each of us with whipped cream and a berry drizzle. Overall we were impressed with the place, especially with the speediness of the service. If we're ever in Moses Lake again, which we most likely will be, we know where to stop for Mexican food. Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Moses Lake. They really know what they are doing and the food is delicious. It's normally pretty busy so you might have to wait to get a table but you won't wait long. Portions are over the top gigantic. The rice is always fresh and the chicken is savory, not tough. This is the absolute worst Mexican restaurant in town. I generally love the hospitality and atmosphere of our local restaurants, especially our Mexican restaurants, but I am absolutely disgusted by the customer service I've received. We ordered two chimichangas, but only received one. No biggy! We just asked if we could get the second one or get a partial refund since we were charged for both. They claimed that we didn't order two, despite the fact that our receipt even stated that we did and proceeded to call me a liar and stupid, white blank.... Needless to say, we won't be returning and will definitely stick to Inca's who always treats us as if they actually care about their customers. I'm very disappointed. read more

Yes, this is the one Mexican restaurant in Moses lake I am recommending. Tried some of the others in town, they were good, but not El Rodeo great. Excellent service from start to end. It should be pointed out as in other reviews, this is a popular restaurant, and timing might be a factor on your visit. They make a moist, flavorful burrito, the nachos were done by some well seasoned sorcery in the kitchen. The meat used in all the dishes tested, made me say, yes, this is 5 star worthy. So stop reading this review, the fresh guacamole isn't going to serve itself! read more

This restaurant use to be ok but it steadily decreased in flavour and service. A server kept rushing us and got mad at us because he kept on getting our order wrong. The girl waitresses were really nice checking up on us unlike the guy waiters. The restaurant servers are giving off bad vibes about this restaurant. The enchiladas were very greasy. The fajitas were way to sweet and dry and the guacamole was very chunky and slimy. I only recommends his restaurant if all the other restaurants downtown and in the area are filled. We've been to every Mexican restaurant in Moses Lake, and El Rodeo has been the best as far as providing a consistent, pleasant dining experience. The food is very good, with large portions and a varied menu. Service has always been very fast. We seldom wait more than 15 minutes from the time we're served to the food being at our table. We go through salsa like crazy and they're always willing to refill our bowl. Consistency is important. I've been to other restaurants where the food is good some days, but when it isn't, it's really awful. One tip--don't let them sit you in the newer section over to the right of the kitchen. It has magical acoustic properties and you will hear every word of the conversation going on three tables away. It puts a damper on the evening. Update: Bad experience last time--still seated in the newer section with the too-live acoustics. Music from kitchen was too loud--a different song than was playing in the dining room. Asked waiter to have it turned down and he said they would, but it never got turned down. You need to think about the customers first!! Still a fan of the food. read more

The choices in this town are pretty limited. This was the first time I ordered a Campechana and it was served hot. We asked the server if this was suppose to be served hot and he said yes.. O_O wow. The husband said his burrito was very salty and he couldnt even finish half. Considering the food was pretty awful I was surprised to see this place packed on a Monday night. This place is not cheap either but I wouldnt mind paying that much if the food was good but it was not. Please someone go out to Moses Lake and open something better. The family and I were in middle of a long road trip and had a desire for Mexican food. We made the decision to go to El Rodeo based on the Yelp reviews. Overall, I would say the food was fair but would not go out of my way to return again. I had the Chicken Burrito, which was highlighted on the menu as a El Rodeo specialty. It ended up as a cheese covered tortilla filled with shredded chicken. The chicken was tender but not real flavorful. The rice and beans were fair. My wife had a taco - enchilada combo plate and said she was not impressed. She didn't eat all her food, which rarely happens when Mexican food is put in front of her. She also had a Strawberry Margarita which she said was very weak, not worth the $8 price tag. Lastly as an aside, I sometimes get the feeling at some restaurants that they know you are a tourist and you get treated differently than the locals. I got that feeling from our waiter from the very beginning. He just wanted to turn and burn our table with as little interaction as possible. I ordered a second beer and after ten minutes, I had to get up and find our waiter standing behind the back counter to remind him that I ordered a second beer. Really? I wanted to update my review for El Rodeo since the last time I left one. The last time I gave 4 stars due to not particularly enjoying several things off the menu when I was trying new dishes. But their menu is quite extensive and I kept trying different entrees and since then, I enjoy their food with abandon! I ordered a fajita burrito last night and it was amazing!! I started out my dinner with their complimentary chips and salsa, as well as cabbage pico, and regular pico de gallo. That in itself is enough to make me swoon with delight! Then, when my entree arrived, as I was eating it I kept thinking, "I hope they have this kind of food in heaven!" Granted, I was extremely hungry when I went there last night, and they say hunger makes for the best ingredient, but that only added to the deliciousness of my experience. I took most of my dinner home and am looking forward to experiencing the same goodness later. I have enjoyed other entrees there if not just as much, then almost to the same degree. So if you're looking for a good place to enjoy fine Mexican cuisine, give this restaurant a try. I do not, however, recommend their nachos. read more

Excellent, classic American Mexican food. We had the Nachos Picadillo to start, and several excellent combo platters with enchiladas, tamales, chimichangas, and tostadas. All three of us ate like kings and queens and drank three great Margaritas for $80! Very prompt service, great tasting clean food, good prices, and just a few minutes off the freeway. We will definitely be stopping by the next time we're near Moses Lake! read more
