She suggested sweet plantains to go with it and white rice with beans which is traditional Cuban (instead of yellow rice). IT WAS FABULOUS! It was crispy on the outside and juicy. The mole was flavorful but not spicy and i appreciated that the meat was not dripping in sauce. My dinner date ordered chicken tamales which were seasoned in a Cuban style with yellow rice. She is used to Mexican tamales but said these really hit the spot! The only blemish on the nice was her second margarita which was the cucumber one which she didn't like at all. We ordered a second round of drinks and they were horrible. The manager came over and apologized and comped us the round. The last time we were here we had the same issue with the drinks. The last time we also had service issues. We were a large party (10) and the food came out so that half the table was almost done eating by the time the other half got their food. I miss the old Pio Pio. This is just a lackluster restaurant and there are better options for Mexican food in Boynton Beach. We will not be back.
