Came here because I was doing laundry in the plaza it's located in. I believe it's South American styled cooking/baking? I saw stuff from Argentina I think. Got a Milanesa sandwich and it was really tasty! It had milanesa tomato and lettuce I think, maybe it can use some sort of sauce as it was a little dry but I enjoyed it. I see they have fun coffee drinks but I didn't see a menu for that. Your thoughts overall? 1/2 Tried their beef empanadas and thought they were decent. They are baked here. Bit lacking in flavor for my taste. Also a bit dry. Empanada crust was on the flakier side. I personally prefer a firmer, crisper exterior. Unfortunately they were sold out of the mixed variety of sandwiches that I wanted but they did have the ham and cheese sandiwches de miga and they were good! I usually prefer the variety pack because often times for the ham and cheese ones they will use a ham I don't like. It'll either be too thick or have a gross piece of gristle but I've already decimated several of these sandwiches and they all had good pieces of ham. Would definitely come back for these! Expenses. Wow wow wow where to start... that's the real question ! First time here we are gifted a mango green tea correct me if I'm wrong but it was delicious and a free desert for me and my wife ! The sandwiches are always amazing and my go to is now the steak and cheese . They have many options for you to choose from come and give them a try they will not disappoint unless they are closed and yes I've showed up many times when they are closed sadly. This is primarily a to-go establishment, so not big on ambiance. But there are a few tables if you want to eat there. They have AMAZING Argentine pastries. But they came under new management and they don't make the same range they used to, which makes me sad (and the main reason I rated it 4 and not 5 stars). Some of my favorites are 'not available on a regular basis. They also don't make a lot so honestly, shortly after opening, for the best variety. The sandwich de miga are also excellent. I really wanted to like the place. I think the owner was having a bad day when I asked her a question she ignored me and then answered with a matter of fact answer and left. All around the place they have signs that you can't stay in and even outside it says "don't even ask to use the bathroom " it seems that they mistrust all customers lol. Made it right they closed & they didnt mind taking our order at all it was our first time so we took awhile looking at the menu and around their dessert display but they were very kind and patient with us! They even left us sample a dessert we were unsure of but it was so delicious we bought a whole box of them! Warning: owner tows vehicles quickly even if you were a customer. After eating here I left for an hour to grab a tea drink and was towed by the restaurant. Food was decent. The staff was deplorable and unwelcoming. On top of that they towed my vehicle after my friend and I ate there. I was looking forward to trying this location with a friend we both weren't so familiar with the area but she was familiar with the items on their menu because of her travels and wanted to share the good eats that she had found listed here. She arrived there and while waiting for me she was given dirty looks by the employees there, the restaurant / store was empty. When I arrived we ordered and ate, tipped. I parked my vehicle right on front of the parking spot directly in front of the entrance. (It was obvious my vehicle belonged to her patron). My friend and I found a place a block or two away to walk to and grab a tea. By the time we returned the car and we gone. When I asked the woman who had served us what had happened she claimed she didn't know. I called the towing company listed. The tow company said it was the Sanguchetto Bakery. The second time I asked the lady she said it was them and proceeded to yell at me for parking there then leaving. It was less than an hour I had been away. There were several other parking spots open in the lot while we ate at the store and when we returned to the lot. It took $308 to get my vehicle back. Horrible way to treat your customers. read more

El Sanguchetto is a small Argentine bakery in a plain-looking plaza. I don't frequent this area, nor would I stop by if I were hungry for a sandwhich, but my husband and his friends like this place and they rave about the food here. They have a small section with bakery items. Grab a tray and pay per piece (80 cents). They also sell pasta, sandwiches and other items like empanadas. You can order at the front and eat there, but people mainly get the food to-go (prob because there is no A/C and it gets hot). Their milanesa is huge! No joke it is like a foot long. The breaded meat comes with mashed potatoes, but you also get complimentary bread with chimichurri sauce. I liked their spinach empanadas and they tasted way better than El Gaucho's, but their chicken one was dry. Overall, it was a good meal though nothing I'd urgently drive to Paramount for. Note that there are parking spots marked for the bakery. The others are for the salon next door. read more

So im like??? Whatever.. I've been wanting to try this bakery for a while. Because I work so late, I never get here in time. They seem to close earlier then the posted time of 8pm. Today I finally got to try the chicken empanadas. While I was in the store, I also noticed the Argentinian sandwiches in the refrigerator. They are white bread with no crust. They either ham or a vegetarian. They are sold in a stack of 8 and are wrapped in plastic. I knew this place, because I consumed there sweet bread from a Latin market in Chino. I was around last Monday, then I decided to make them a visit. I got sweet bread, very good, like always. Got also a tray of "sandwiches de miga", not the best, but were fresh and not far from what they suppose to be. The problem came with the empanadas. I didn't like them at all, nor did anyone else at home. The chicken empanadas were spicy, not an argentinian standard, and acidic. I've had a provoleta that seemed to be a chunk of cheap provolone cheese with lots of red pepper and oregano, a tasteless and oily milanesa sandwich with tough beef with frozen tasting fries. This was my first time trying Argentinian food. I've had an Argentinian empanada before, in fact, that's why I'm here, but never had actual Argentinian dishes. It didn't help that I was starving when I walked in since I hadn't eaten all day because I felt daring and ordered what felt like EVERYTHING! Not literally, but it felt like I did. I walked out with dinner, side orders, AND dessert! Lol! This woman don't play when she hungray! I asked the lady who took my order to recommend a popular Argentinian dish. I went with one of her recommendations and ordered the milanesa a la napolitana. It's a lightly breaded thinly sliced steak topped with ham, a chunky tomato sauce, and mozzarella. I personally don't think the ham is needed. It was delicious without it! It also comes with your choice of a side: potato salad, fries, or mashed potatoes. She recommended the potato salad and it was great with the flavorful breaded meat! I'll probably try the mashed potatoes next time. This dish rocked! I loved the chicken and beef empanadas! They were baked and fresh! If you have to pick one, go with the beef empanadas. The sauce that comes with the empanadas worked so well with the meat. I also ordered their bakery goods which you can pick out yourself using a tray and tongs. I highly recommend trying their bakery goods when they are fresh. I'm not sure when they bring out the baked goods, but I would find out and get the pastries then. Don't wait until late in the day because you might end up with not so fresh pastries. I got mine in the evening and some were tough to chew, but they tasted good. Just not fresh. You can get a dozen of your choice for $8 or they're less than a $1 each. I have to give this place props because I literally came at 6:52pm. I don't think they knew I only wanted to buy the loose matè but when the last person there was about to close the door, I told him I just needed matè and he sold it to me! I think they do try to get out of there a few min before closing but who goes into a place right before it closes anyway?! I've had my share of the MILANESA Sandwich.... and then there's El Sanguchetto's MILANESA SANDWICH - leading the pack! I had a craving for a breakfast-into-lunch type sandwich that would fill my appetite until a big dinner later on that night. Fast-food and chain restaurants were not on the menu this late morning. I thought of the many choices I had between Downey and Paramount, where I had to run an errand. Deli after deli, cafe shops after cafe shops...Until finally, I was in the direct vicinity of El Sanguchetto; and I locked in. Their menu is pretty diverse in the different foods you could munch on throughout the day. But one particular section that was calling my name were the sandwiches. Particularly the MILANESA Sandwich. They had regular and large. But let me say their regular is not your typical Subway 6-inch sub v. the 'footlong'....oh nooo....the regular is more of a footlong and the Large is basically a loaf baguette. ahhh Baguette...they back their own bread in this place, so you get it just right. The milanesa is a nice slab of steak...thin enough to digest it as a lunch item, but breaded enough to fill you and not make you stuffed. It comes with lettuce, tomato, provolone cheese, and a light mayo spread that doesn't drown the bread. How could you, the bread is probably the second best part of it, next to the Milanesa, itself. All for either $5 (for Reg) and $7 (for Large). Add to the mix a 42 inch screen plasma showing the morning futbol games, and a 'PASTELERIA' / pastry display that allows you the reach of adding freshly baked sweets, if need be.
