Until I make way to Argentina, El Sanguchetto Bakery is plenty sufficient for me. FOOD Milanesa, empanadas y inca kola! Give me more!! I love their bread and their empanadas make me want to do the empanada dance. Don't ask. SERVICE I got here close to closing (sorry) but they didn't rush me and told me to take my time. The lady who took my order was very nice and didn't laugh when I slaughtered her language with my white girl accent. Great place to grab a quick bite and watch some Telemundo. First time trying Argentine empanadas and they are GOOD!!! The man who helped me at the counter was very nice and helpful in other words the service was great. Total mom and pop spot, nothing fancy about this place but thats what I love about it! I found this place on yelp and originally came to try the empanadas. They don't have a wide variety of them like other spots I've been to but thats because thats not what there specialty is.. I ended up ordering the Parillada for two and WOW! It's mostly to go pick up your stuff or eat something quick and go. Food is fresh and facturas are good. A little bakery in a strip mall. I came in because of the reviews but was disappointed. There is no bakery case, just 2 large refs to the side. The menu is in the wall with prices covered. There are boxes and tubs of bakery supplies in the eating area. On to the food, we ordered the empanadas, the price was good but the empanadas were little and the filling inside even less. I ordered a large mozarella pizza. Not entirely authentic compared to what I had in Buenos Aires but still very good. The sanguchittos I had were very good. The drinks could be cheaper. I'd hardly call this place authentic. Ordered every single empanada on the menu and they all came up below average! They were all bland and lacked the seasoning Argentinian cuisine is famous for! The dough was thick and inconsistent. Normally empanadas are folded differently to differentiate but not these they were all the same. Plus They're all thrown in a pizza box unmarked. My kids have made better empanadas - seriously! I also bought two trays of Sandwiches de Miga and one tray of facturas. These were okay but I quickly put together these get delivered and aren't fresh from the restaurant. Sadly, coming to realize something was wrong I asked waitress what part of Argentina the owners were from and she burst out laughing saying, they were from Michoacan (Mexico), but they got the recipes from an Argentinian - Not that this matters, But I must admit it added a little more to my disappointment. The service here is still average (dry, and not too friendly,) but the quality of the food has definitely worsened. We ordered a few lomito sandwiches and the meat was super tough and hard to chew. The bread was way too large for the amount of meat, lettuce, and tomato in there. We asked for chimichurri sauce with the dozen empanadas that we ordered to go, and were told they don't include sauce to go, it has to be purchased by the pound. What? The entraña is excellent and the chimichurri is spot on. The bread they give you with the meal is my favorite! As far as service its hit or miss but nothing bad enough to keep us from going. P.s. My homeboy who now lives in Paramount around the corner from here told me about this place. This is an Argentinian bakery. We know they value the quality of beef/steak in their cuisine. We all know that bread can make or break a sandwich. Here's what happens when I start thinking of a milanesa, or club, or chicken sandwich from Sanguchetto. Thinking to myself as a work up a serious hunger and craving for their delicious bread with cocaine and a tasty breaded piece of steak inside, "hmmm...wasn't even hungry a minute ago, but now my stomach is growling like crazy because of the mere thoughts of putting one of those sandwiches to my taste buds...hmmm, gotta go over there for lunch...." As a drive up to the place, "okay, okay, now control yourself and don't order the large, even though it's a super deal of goodness, it's too much food, Dean...don't order the large." I get out of my truck, walk in, walk up to the counter saying to myself, "don't order the large, don't order the large, get the small..." Me at the counter, "Hi, can I have the large milanesa...?" It's all over from there. You can't help but devour that goodness of freshly baked bread, then go to sleep after eating such a huge sandwich. You maybe asking what my problem is and why can't I control my appetite? Well, like I said above, it's like cocaine...you just want more and more. I was craving argentine empanadas and I saw them on yelp. I usually get empanadas from Puerto Madero in Santa ana because YUMMMM, but we moved to cypress and I didn't feel like driving to Santa ana on a Monday afternoon. It's a small storefront. The lady was very sweet and helpful. We ordered 4 each of the ham n cheese, beef and chicken. I also bought some sandwich de miga because I love those things. The food was subpar and not as flavorful as I would have liked. They were also small for the price I paid. I think next time I will make the drive to Santa ana because I feel like I get what I pay for. Neither location is in the most attractive place, but this was the first time I was harassed by a person for money while I had my toddler and mother there with me. This man followed me to my car lol. Hands down: THE BEST MILANESA SANDWICH EVER!! They charge $7.99 for a large which easily feeds 2 people, but they could very well charge $10. The large sandwich is GIGANTIC. My boss has been bringing us yummy goodies from this bakery since we moved to our new location in paramount. From the sweet bread to the empanadas it's oh so good. I ordered a dozen to bring to my bfs birthday party and it was a total hit! A dozen for only $16. they have a ham and cheese filling, ground beef, chicken, and spinach with cheese.
