    Carne Asada Fries

Holy smokes I cannot believe this place. This place is really good. They're Asada Carne Asada fries are amazing and their sauce is really good. I'm definitely coming back again, especially representing the small businesses out. There cannot believe other people never came to this place before for Mexican food.

You won't regret spending money eating here. This place is what I consider a "hidden gem". Family-owned, in a non-busy location, but the food provides good values for the money you spend. I had Birria tacos here every 2 days to satisfy my cravings, and they never fail in making delicious foods. The warm welcome you receive is genuine & authentic, making me wanting to support this place even more.

Small hole in the wall feel, but with generous portions, excellent price, and really REALLY great flavors! Outstanding customer service, Memo is a great cook and brings joy to the culinary art. Great vibes. Definitely coming back!!

First thing I notice about El Sauz JR is the service. A++ for that. Ordered online, but the cool wanted to wait for me to get there so that I would be able to take the food home freshly made. Second thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the place and how organized everything seemed to be. Lastly was the food. When i got home, the food was nice and warm. I ordered a carne asada taco ($2.30) fish taco ($2.30), and shrimp taco ($2.30), a chicken quesadilla ($9.09), carne asada burrito ($11.85), carne asada torta ($9.75) and side of fries ($2.99). Carne asada was a bit dry, chicken was a bit dry. Fish was moist and had good flavor. Salsa's were excellent and there's plenty of food for the price! I'll have to try them out again since El Sauz is down the street. I'm hoping this is a one off in the cooking department. Parking is sufficient but it's shared with with other business' in a strip mall.

Was craving some asada fries went here because it before a while back. First thing I noticed once I had already ordered my food was the chef touching my fries bare handed! But I still decided to give it a try once I got my food and headed back home i opened my food and seen the darkest guacamole I've ever seen, basically the last of it. The fries as well were tasted not cooked all the way. Waste of money !

I've passed by this place a bunch and tonight I finally stopped inside for a late dinner for my husband and myself. The young lady who took my order was friendly. I mentioned it was my first time in and she let me take my time as I quickly passed over the menu, even though I knew I was probably just getting tacos. I ordered a total of 5 chicken tacos, $1.85 ea, and 2 carne asada, $2.00 ea. I asked for "everything" which consisted of diced onions, cilantro, limes, a sliced radish and grilled onions/jalapeño. The grilled onions really added to it all. The mild salsa was perfect for my tolerance level. This might actually be my new taco spot! It was not as quick as my usual place but the chicken tacos had SO much more flavor than the other spot. I'm almost not even mad that they forgot to add the cheese I paid $1.00 extra for on my husband's tacos. Almost. Cheese is $0.25 extra per taco. The husband and I agree we will return eventually. And perhaps we'll something other than tacos. We also ate our food too quickly for me to take any pix. Next time!

I came here on two occasions and the food here is consistently good. The carne asada fries are amazing! Just the right amount of crispiness, meat, cheese, and everything. The food is amazing and the staff is friendly and treats you like family. I love it here and I'm going to continue eating here

Their carne asada fries are bomb! They dont discriminate with the portion. One order you can share with 2-3 people.

I…read morefeel like not many places make it the way it should be, and I often end up disappointed. But this place was the complete opposite. The food was excellent. It did have a slightly different twist from what I personally consider traditional, but I absolutely loved it! We ordered tostadas with salsa, shrimp aguachile, chile relleno, and chicken mole. Everything tasted freshly made. The tortillas were incredibly good, the tostadas had amazing flavor, and the salsa was phenomenal with the perfect medium spice level for me since I don't eat very spicy food. It also had a delicious garlic flavor. For drinks, we ordered a michelada that honestly surprised us because it was exactly how we like it, and a Maya-Tai that had a delicious smoky flavor. The only reason I'm not giving a perfect score is because I would have liked the food to be served hotter. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't really hot either. Our server, Justine, wasn't rude at all, but she did come across a little cold and very straight to the point, almost like she didn't really want to be there, and it showed. Completely different from our host, Maddy, who was absolutely lovely. We had great conversation with her and she gave us amazing recommendations!

Cool spot with some great margaritas and cocktails!…read more Love this little Mexican restaurant located on the bottom floor of the Packing House. Came in for a little date night on a Saturday evening. The whole staff was friendly and accommodating, always quick to refill drinks or clear empty plates. We started off with some delicious and spicy oysters which were topped with a shrimp! We also had to try the Chori-brussels which are flash fried Brussels sprouts with chorizo, balsamic reduction, and Oaxacan cheese. For drinks we got a Santo Dia, a whiskey based cocktail with watermelon, lime, and fizz served over ice. We also ordered the Spicy margarita which had watermelon habanero, lime, and hibiscus flavors. They were both delicious and refreshing, the spicy marg had a good kick to it. For dinner we got a caesar salad, the ribeye plate, and the Urbana burger. We both loved the dressing on the caesar, it's made in house and it shows. The ribeye was cooked perfectly with a delicious herb butter on top, a really good steak sauce on the side, and thick cut fries. The ribeye wasn't the highest quality but it tasted good, the fries were perfect. My fiancé got the burger which had chorizo, melted queso Oaxaca, and an egg on top. Not gonna lie it was absolutely delish! I want to come back just for the burger. All in all we had a great time and I would definitely come back for some other menu items, especially to try more of their margs and specialty cocktails. Thanks Urbana!
