    Birria Tacos w/ cheese

You won't regret spending money eating here. This place is what I consider a "hidden gem". Family-owned, in a non-busy location, but the food provides good values for the money you spend. I had Birria tacos here every 2 days to satisfy my cravings, and they never fail in making delicious foods. The warm welcome you receive is genuine & authentic, making me wanting to support this place even more.

    Carne Asada Fries

Holy smokes I cannot believe this place. This place is really good. They're Asada Carne Asada fries are amazing and their sauce is really good. I'm definitely coming back again, especially representing the small businesses out. There cannot believe other people never came to this place before for Mexican food.

Small hole in the wall feel, but with generous portions, excellent price, and really REALLY great flavors! Outstanding customer service, Memo is a great cook and brings joy to the culinary art. Great vibes. Definitely coming back!!

First thing I notice about El Sauz JR is the service. A++ for that. Ordered online, but the cool wanted to wait for me to get there so that I would be able to take the food home freshly made. Second thing I noticed was the cleanliness of the place and how organized everything seemed to be. Lastly was the food. When i got home, the food was nice and warm. I ordered a carne asada taco ($2.30) fish taco ($2.30), and shrimp taco ($2.30), a chicken quesadilla ($9.09), carne asada burrito ($11.85), carne asada torta ($9.75) and side of fries ($2.99). Carne asada was a bit dry, chicken was a bit dry. Fish was moist and had good flavor. Salsa's were excellent and there's plenty of food for the price! I'll have to try them out again since El Sauz is down the street. I'm hoping this is a one off in the cooking department. Parking is sufficient but it's shared with with other business' in a strip mall.

    Carne Asada Fries

Was craving some asada fries went here because it before a while back. First thing I noticed once I had already ordered my food was the chef touching my fries bare handed! But I still decided to give it a try once I got my food and headed back home i opened my food and seen the darkest guacamole I've ever seen, basically the last of it. The fries as well were tasted not cooked all the way. Waste of money !

I've passed by this place a bunch and tonight I finally stopped inside for a late dinner for my husband and myself. The young lady who took my order was friendly. I mentioned it was my first time in and she let me take my time as I quickly passed over the menu, even though I knew I was probably just getting tacos. I ordered a total of 5 chicken tacos, $1.85 ea, and 2 carne asada, $2.00 ea. I asked for "everything" which consisted of diced onions, cilantro, limes, a sliced radish and grilled onions/jalapeño. The grilled onions really added to it all. The mild salsa was perfect for my tolerance level. This might actually be my new taco spot! It was not as quick as my usual place but the chicken tacos had SO much more flavor than the other spot. I'm almost not even mad that they forgot to add the cheese I paid $1.00 extra for on my husband's tacos. Almost. Cheese is $0.25 extra per taco. The husband and I agree we will return eventually. And perhaps we'll something other than tacos. We also ate our food too quickly for me to take any pix. Next time!

5 stars for the Carne Asada fries but disclaimer that's the only thing I've tried here. This is my go to place for carne asada fries! Their fries are unlike your typical thin, frozen fries. They're slightly crispy but also slightly battered tasting. Comes with beans though so opt out if you're not a fan! They also add a little bit of a red sauce to the fries (that's not spicy). Their green salsa is SPICY and my spicy tolerance isn't too bad either but it's sooooo good. Excellent price point as well: 2 orders of carne asada fries was under $22 with tax Pro-tip: they can be quite busy so I usually order my food via phone 15 to 20 minutes ahead of time and it's always being packed up when I get there.

Scotty took what was already a great date night and made it truly memorable. Not only was he the best server we've had since we started dining at Puesto, but I'd go so far as to say he was one of the best servers I've ever had anywhere. Scotty had a calm, understated demeanor that was part of his charm. He was genuine, attentive, extraordinarily kind, and somehow managed to keep my Diet Coke with lime full the entire evening. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and was always there at just the right moment. Best of all, he laughed at my dad jokes. While the food was outstanding, Scotty made the experience even better. His service elevated an already great meal into an exceptional evening. We will absolutely be requesting Scotty's section every time we visit Puesto Anaheim.

I usually have enough leftovers to take home and have for lunch the next day. Parking is a bit sparse, but there's residential spots available next door and within walking distance (as well as my favorite romance bookstore, Heartbound Bookshop). The agua de melón was delicious, and the side of beans was excellent. We also ordered a plain quesadilla, and it was surprisingly really good. The menudo itself was just okay--not bad, but nothing special. The reason I'm giving 2 stars isn't because the staff were rude, but they definitely weren't friendly or welcoming. My biggest concern, however, was what I witnessed with the condiments. When you order menudo, they bring a plate with limes, onions, and chili. I watched two employees clear tables, throw away some items, but keep the unused onions and uncut lime wedges from customers' plates and take them back into the kitchen to be served again. Even if I didn't use all of the onions or limes, that doesn't mean I didn't touch them. Reusing food that has already been on a customer's table is unsanitary and unacceptable. After seeing that, it made me wonder whether other items, like leftover chips, might also be reused. Whether or not that's the case, what I witnessed was enough to make me lose confidence in their food handling practices. Unfortunately, I won't be returning

The restaurant is located in the middle of Downtown Disney, with the entrance tucked off to the side. Just make sure you don't mistake it for Centrico! The service was amazing from start to finish. We were greeted by a hostess downstairs, who then had another hostess upstairs escort us to our table. Since the dining area is upstairs, you can either take the stairs or use the elevator. Our server, Alyssa, was incredibly attentive and helpful. She gave my fiancée some great recommendations and helped her make a few choices. The gentleman who brought out our food was also very informative and took the time to explain each dish as he delivered it. The food and drinks, from the appetizers all the way to dessert, were amazing. We started with drinks. My fiancée ordered the Maya-Tai, while I got the Sangria. We both enjoyed our drinks, but we ended up ordering two more glasses of the Sangria because we liked it that much! The first food item to arrive was the half-dozen oysters (not pictured because we were too impatient!). They tasted incredibly fresh, although we did encounter some shell debris in a few of them. We also shared the Pulpo Enamorado, which is grilled octopus served with tuna aioli, salsa macha, and pickled vegetables. This was one of our favorite dishes, and I highly recommend it as a shareable small plate. My fiancée ordered the Enchiladas de Pollo--shredded chicken wrapped in corn tortillas and served with salsa verde, avocado, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and queso fresco. I ordered the Lamb Barbacoa, which was slow-cooked and served with a pinto bean purée, mint jocoque, sweet pickled jalapeños, and a side of corn tortillas. Both entrees were absolutely delicious. The flavors were well-balanced, and everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Overall, we had an amazing experience. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere all impressed us, and we definitely recommend giving this place a try. We're already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu--and, of course, getting the Sangria again. I highly recommend getting the pitcher if you're dining with a group!

Came in for a little date night on a Saturday evening. The whole staff was friendly and accommodating, always quick to refill drinks or clear empty plates. We started off with some delicious and spicy oysters which were topped with a shrimp! We also had to try the Chori-brussels which are flash fried Brussels sprouts with chorizo, balsamic reduction, and Oaxacan cheese. For drinks we got a Santo Dia, a whiskey based cocktail with watermelon, lime, and fizz served over ice. We also ordered the Spicy margarita which had watermelon habanero, lime, and hibiscus flavors. They were both delicious and refreshing, the spicy marg had a good kick to it. For dinner we got a caesar salad, the ribeye plate, and the Urbana burger. We both loved the dressing on the caesar, it's made in house and it shows. The ribeye was cooked perfectly with a delicious herb butter on top, a really good steak sauce on the side, and thick cut fries. The ribeye wasn't the highest quality but it tasted good, the fries were perfect. My fiancé got the burger which had chorizo, melted queso Oaxaca, and an egg on top. Not gonna lie it was absolutely delish! I want to come back just for the burger. All in all we had a great time and I would definitely come back for some other menu items, especially to try more of their margs and specialty cocktails. Thanks Urbana!
