Finally opportunity to check this place out. Definitely local joint - it appears everyone knew one another or it was a super friendly crowd. Reservations made online (recommended) because it got steady pretty quick! There is a form to fill in online and within 24 hours they confirm the reservation. Masks require upon entry and cleaning did occur in between every table. Super friendly staff. Check up on regularly. Easy selection of food and snacks. Frankfurter tasty, grilled, and popped when bitten into. Sour dough grill cheese - delicious! Crunchy not overly greasy nor overpowering with the fancy cheese used Mix olives had pits in them but nice bribe and oily taste to change things up. Various bags of kettle chips available - cheddar / bbq for the win! Definitely a place to come back to! Please note they have a 1.5 hour limit and each person with a drink has to have a meal as well. Best beer & brewery in Southern California. Not only do we love the beer, but the people and atmosphere is just so friendly. Their beer garden in the back is delightful to hang out in, they always have food trucks in the evenings. We especially love the Mayberry IPA, which is iconic in El Segundo, and an ode to the city, that we all love. They always have an amazing rotation on small batch of craft beers on tap, and cans you can take to go. The Cannes artwork is fantastic! I love the branding of the El Segundo brewery. We've never had a bad experience at the El Segundo brewery. The beer tenders are friendly, knowledgeable, and have an overall great vibe. I love that El Segundo brewery supports other small businesses in the community, and just has so much love for the city of El Segundo. What a fantastic brewery in darling downtown El Segundo! I love walking in the front door and being faced with a set of stairs and a hallway, it felt very speakeasy without the pretense as everyone seems to be welcome here, no password needed, just a curiosity for how good craft beer is made. We were treated to a tour and even got to meet the patron saint of the place, Ed! There's nothing better than getting to know how what you're drinking was made and to learn about the process from start to tasty end. If you're in need a little hometown love, I suggest you go hang at this amazing brewery and be made to feel at home. When you're ready for some delicious food, don't forget to head up the hill for a tasty bite at Slice & Pint, the sister restaurant! Came after a baseball with others. I didn't know much of the area or place but it's quite the nice spot. A bit of walking after you walk the doors but surely worth it! There is a variety of sitting but can easily see this place getting pack quickly. I got an American Lager and it was alright. I've had better but surely a nice flavor. There was a food truck right outside the barriers. Overall I'd tell people to at least try a drink or two. Absolutely one of the best breweries in L.A. They have a great selection of beer, and their IPAs are fantastic! While many breweries may have one or two standouts, ESBC has a full roster--each world-class. They stand shoulder to shoulder with the best of places like Ballast Point. Also love the vibe and the outside patio tables. Other than potato chips, no food is served. But they have a rotating list of terrific food trucks parked out back. They also allow you to bring in food from outside--I suggest the excellent pizza from their sister restaurant, Slice and Pint, just two blocks away. read more

I've been trying to visit this brewery for awhile now. It's always so busy and I've tried twice before but couldn't wait 2 hours to be seated. Luckily, my husband and I got a table on a weekday and man... there's some good beers here! The bartenders were friendly, the music playing was obnoxiously loud, and the bathrooms were clean. I don't think there was anything I didn't like about this place! Although the taproom is small, it doesn't feel too crowded. There's lots of outdoor seating too but there's a better chance of you getting a spot inside. From experience, they are very busy on weekends. So I'd be ready to wait a little or try and get on a waitlist (if they have one then). I'll definitely make time to come back and try more! read more

I dedicate this to one of my favorite wrestlers who I have been a fan of since I was a kid throughout his careers in WCW as "Stunning" Steve Austin, in ECW as "Superstar" Steve Austin, in WWF/WWE as "The Ring Master" and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. On Friday The 13th of November, 2015 ... I was able to actually hang out with Steve as he served me and others some of his very own custom-made Broken Skull IPA beer at El Segundo Brewery!!! The venue itself very much reminds me of a lighter, brighter version of Phantom Carriage in Carson. Parking can be a bitch, but that whole day was worth it. Inside, it is super chill and welcoming from the seats, decoration set up, style, customer service, etc. It felt like I was in a big-ass garage party that was hosted by Stone Cold! I dug how intimate and exclusive the whole event and venue itself felt!!!! Everything was just super chill and laid back while being a great alternative to the Rock & Brews that is next to it. All around, El Segundo Brewery gets 5 stars from me. Local brewery. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Outdoor has heaters for when it gets cold(cold for SoCal). Inside has some music usually playing and 4 TVs playing various content, which you can request be changed to what you wish to enjoy Nice tap list. Usually 20 or so on tap, mostly IPAs which is why I like ESBC. Some doubles, sometimes triples and the occasional quad. They usually have some ales and lagers and even a rice lager which is pretty good if you want something lighter. I'm partial to the IPAs so they have a great selection. Usually some collaborations with other breweries like smog city, three weavers, etc. Wednesday - Sunday they usually have food trucks, the schedule for that is on the website. I always enjoy them but it is food truck $$$$$. The staff is the best part. Very friendly, very attentive, knowledgeable to give you suggestions I if you are unsure or if your favorite seasonal is dry to try another similar one Justin, Rich, and Will are awesome and very attentive, always making sure my glass is full Unlike a lot of other breweries are very clear about when last call is , even coming around to help get you one more drink and close out your tab. They even have cans(4 packs) of some of their brews to go($14 I think at time of this review) which is nice to take some deliciousness home. Stopped by here for about 15 minutes on the 4th of July. Cute place with a good vibe - kind of small amount of seating but plenty of standing room too :) I got a 4oz of the vanilla stout on nitro and it wasn't my favorite - I usually am a fan of dark beers and didn't even finish the small glass. Not much vanilla flavor, but again this is the only of their beers I tried and I'm sure they have other good ones. Something they do that I really liked is that you can buy a beer for a service member ahead of time so that when they come in and show their military ID/police ID/etc. they will get a free drink! You can also do it for a specific person and they have 2 months to come in and get it. Seems like a fun place to come in and hang out if you live in the area right in downtown. read more

Came here on a Saturday night and immediately was pleased with the decision thanks to them playing lots of awesome old school hip hop. A great playlist makes everything better. My friends and I scored the last sit down table but there was also still plenty of standing room and barrel tables which was great for everyone to have some space even though they were busy. They have lots of beer offerings and I wish their beer board was more descriptive of what's in them because it's tough to ask the bartender about details when it's busy. However, I took my best shot and ended up getting a flight and take note these pours are massive! My favs were the Mayberry IPA, Cerveza (passionfrut and pineapple versions) and the Aileron. Honorable mention for the Vanilla Stout on Nitro. Parking can be a bit tough on weekend nights with lots of business i. I'll be honest: I got lost trying to find the entrance to this place. I got to the front door and I looked around and didn't any way to get in. I peaked around the left side and it looked like a storage room so I was really confused. I had to ask someone where it was and apparently I just had to keep walking past the "storage" area. After getting past that, this place is really cool! The space for seating is not that big so at like 6pm everyone comes in and it's standing room only and you have to juke your way around peoples' shoulders to get from one place to the other. They have different types of food that they serve everyday. When I went it was a food truck that sold tacos and other similar foods. They sold one taco for $4.50 and 3 for $12. I think that's pretty expensive for a taco that didn't look super special so I didn't try any of the food. If you want to try a sample of a certain beer they're happy to let you try a bit so you don't commit to something you won't like. They have flights so you can try different types of beers. I ordered the vanilla stout for $7 and the Power Plant TIPA for $8 which I really liked. The person who poured my first beer did not do a good job so half of my drink was beer head which didn't taste very good. All in all, a really cool spot to hang out in downtown El Segundo. read more

It was a busy night, with standing room only. We were able to share a table with a group of really nice people, who we ended up having a great time with. Fun place to hangout. We brought our two pups and they do indeed have an outside patio area and are extremely dog-friendly! One of the owners was walking around giving pups treats! Super plus plus plus in my book when you are kind towards the fur babies. I saw lots of dogs and lots of families enjoying themselves. The night we went, there was a food stand pop-up just outside the back parking lot - I think it's random and fun. That was helpful for the buzz buzz buzz from the yummy beer selections. They setup a grill and cook up a pretty good burger on Thursdays 5pm - 9pm & Fridays 2pm - 9pm. Saturdays and Sundays from 12-9 they do tacos. Haven't been here on the weekend to try those but the Mayberry Burger is good! A bit on the smaller side so I'd definitely recommend getting it with a side. The Malt Vinegar Chips were a bit inconsistent. First time they were nice and salty, with a hint of vinegar but the second time the vinegar taste overpowered them. The potato salad was decent. Found it a little bland and a bit too heavy on the garlic. Guys working the grill are down to earth and professional. A friend of mine lives in El Segundo and that means he lives within walking distance of El Segundo Brewing. I went on a Saturday night and despite it being earlier in the evening there was a pretty sizable crowd. We ended up sitting outside because the music was pretty loud. I got kind of a weird vibe from the bartender he wasn't busy but seemed like he couldn't be bothered. My friend was definitely trying to decide and there was no recommendations or questions. Usually at taprooms the people behind the beer are excited about their product and try to help you find something you like, didn't get that here. I did get their vanilla stout which was good, a little on the sweet side and I enjoyed it but definitely wasn't feeling another round. We cashed out and when my friend noticed Stone Cold Steve Austin's beer in the cooler the bartender kind of perked up about when he comes to visit but that was the only time he seemed interested in saying anything. read more

A pretty chill spot to spend some time with a good group of friends. I came with a friend to change things up from the usual bars we go to and I was happy we found this spot. Parking was pretty easy with street parking down the street. Once walking in, it was poppin'! Tons of locals sitting around, watching the games on TV, and enjoying each others time and the beers. My friend and I got spot at the bar to order our drinks and got some ales and lagrs. This place has an expansive IPA list but not our taste profile. We then found a spot to sit outside where there were a number of tables and high top tables. Beers were good! Liked that they had two sizes for draft beers so you can try a few things. There was a food vendor across the road in the back where it looked like they were making sandwiches but the brewery just had packaged chips. Overall a good time and would come back in the summer but definitely wished they had a some heat lamps in the back. read more

I'm a huge fan of clean and clear West Coast IPAs. In the last couple of years, this style took a bit of a back seat to New England/hazy IPA craze, but is recently making a comeback with more craft drinkers going back to "real" beer. El Segundo Brewing has been on my bucket list of the breweries to visit, ever since I tried first of their WC IPAs years ago. If there is a brewery that is staying true to itself and West Coast IPA style, it is El Segundo. We came in on a Sunday afternoon of Labor Day weekend, a day late for their 10th Anniversary bash. Parking was easy, just a block away. The entance from Main Street is unassuming and low key, though there is clear signage and the builidng itself is painted blue, just so there is no confusion. Passed the bathroom, we entered the taproom, which is right next to their production brewery. Chill atmosphere and great beer, what more could you ask for? Bartending staff are relaxed and friendly and their flights are a must. While some other places serve flights in 2-3 oz pours, at El Segundo the tasters must be doulbe or even triple that size. I did not have any reference to compare to, but my naked eye says somewhere in between 6-8oz each poor *and there are 5 in a flight*. As far as beer itself, hops are where it's at El Segundo: as expected. If you are like me and love clean IPAs, this is a top 3 spot in SoCal for sure. When I'm back in LA area next time, even with torrid traffic, I'll surely make a detour to El Segundo. These guys are the real deal and one of my overall favorites. read more

Once I found out my pro wrestling lord & savior Stone Cold Steve Austin had his own beer that was brewed here, El Segundo Brewery made my bookmark list as a place I had to try. I got here around 3pm on a Saturday & the tap room was pretty packed, when I took a look at the menu I was worried I might not like it here since a majority of the beers are IPAs but after taking a longer look I saw they had a few barrel aged options & some interesting stouts so I took the plunge with a five beer flight, & a pint. The Smoky Hallow scotch ale was my favorite out of everything I got to try, the Broken Skull IPA was the only IPA I tried this time and it was pretty good. I didn't get the individual prices but my beer & flight was $17 total. There's street parking around you just might have to walk a bit of a way to get there on a weekend. The tap room is kind of small, mostly bar seating and a few tables in the middle. Next time I'm on this side of town I'll definitely come back to try their other beers. read more

We had a team building event at this tasting room, and it was such a pleasant surprise. El Segundo Brewing has handles in the best bars in So CA, is sold at certain retailers, and offers a 64 oz refillable growler: So you can look like a redneck - jk - LOL! ESB is on Main, after you make a right off ES Blvd in El Segundo. We met the owners, and they suggested we try flights to see which beer we liked the best. Flights are generally small pours, but not here. I was buzzing after the 3rd taste. I settled on their Mayberry, that is a middle of the road, hoppy ale. BTW, ESB's Hammerland Double IPA won Best in Class at the Bistro Double IPA Festival in SF last year. We enjoyed our beer with some pizza & wings delivered from Andiamo next door. Before you harp on ES, it is home to Mattel, the big Chevron plant, aerospace companies, airlines, et al. All dem employees need a watering hole! ESB offers a very casual environment which to do so (most peeps were in Ts). However, everyone is chill because the place is basically a warehouse, with a roll up garage door in the back, and all the equipment on the inside to brew the beer. One of our colleagues brought her baby, and everyone was being cool to her baby girl. Regarding the service, it was stellar. Our bartender Brandon was super nice, informative, and on top of it. The remainder of the staff was the same. No wonder this place was packed @ 5 pm on a Thu night. I would have no qualms about meeting up w/ some friends here again. Its a hike from the 405 (near the beach), but the drive is well worth it. read more

In this small all American town, it would not be complete w/out it's own brewery. And it's small, tight, not much seating since it was still crowded for closing time & very very loud!!!!.....pretty much all the local youth & some old timers hang out here (which is why we felt we fit in, being the other set of old timers there, lol). I read that it's going to expand the tap room, so that will be nice!!! Of course when we finally got a chance to check it out, showing up at 10:00 pm when they close :( Well...the nice server who told us it was "Last call" graciously took our order and served us our first and last beer for night. I believe it was a Blue House Citra ale. It was GOOD!. And you can not beat the prices, hell, it's worth being cramped in a small space to have quality beer. We saw people drinking in the actual brewery - the larger area behind the tasting room where the beer grain silos were; We felt like we were sneaking in a barn back east!!! Didn't mind one bit, because the beer is so worth it!!! (So if you don't mind going in the brewery, it can be an experience:) I hear the IPA's are really smooth, we will have to try them out, along w/a sampler next time, we live within walking distance to it, that can be very dangerous! (lol). Parking- it's all street, and there are some parking lots down the street and across the street adjacent to Rock & Brews, it just depends if someone leaves or you just might have a little bitty walk. But keep out of the Chevron employee parking lots, you'll get a ticket, I can imagine. And like most breweries, they don't serve food, but I saw snacks behind the counter.
