Terrible experience! I had El Sol deliver items in February 2023 and they installed four-poster bed frame incorrectly that my husband and I had to completely reassemble. The fabric on the bedframe was torn, and an ottoman they also delivered had a large red mark on it. I informed them at time of install and repeatedly attempted calls and emails which they did not respond to and they never fixed my items that they delivered. El Sol used to be the best moving company in Austin. They were friendly and reliable movers, so I used them numerous times and everything was always great. However, something definitely went wrong within the company because my last two moves with them were horrible. Their ability to perform literally decreased from 100% when moves were great, to 50% when items were forgotten or arrived disheveled, to 0% when items were forgotten, arrived disheveled, damaged, chipped or outright broken. What happened? During my last move using El Sol a very expensive and loved table leg was broken off, other wooden items were chipped, and cabinets arrived with crooked doors and drawers. When these items were picked up, they were in perfect condition, when they were dropped off, they looked like they suffered through a high-magnitude earthquake. When I notified El Sol of this problem, they sent two men over the next day, one of whom was laying down and relaxing for an hour while the other did the work of repairing and tightening screws etc.. I didn't care because I thought this was a free service due to the horrible condition the items arrived in (as in, we're so sorry to have majorly messed up the last two moves, especially this one since we destroyed your expensive furniture, and thank you for letting us fix our mistakes since our company probably can't afford to replace your furniture). I was wrong, they actually charged me for the hours both men were at my house! (yes hours, because for one hour they were "waiting" for directions on how to put a shelf back together since they weren't the men who took it apart). As for repairs? They GLUED the leg to my designer table back on. Hello! This isn't Ikea (and even at Ikea they don't use glue!) Not only this, but they're supposed to be a White Glove moving company, meaning, you pay more but they can pack your entire kitchens, closets, etc.. as well as furniture, and then ship everything to you in perfect condition. Well, somehow they forgot some furniture pieces, I mean, if you're told to pack "everything" in a house, and pack everything that's not nailed down, then why would you forget to load the truck with some of the furniture? And guess what else, El Sol was supposed to pack the kitchen and the everything in bedroom closets (all moving companies have garment hanging boxes which makes moving so much less of a hassle) well.. they even forgot some of the garment boxes and left two drawers in the kitchen unpacked! So your told to pack everything, but it's okay not to do your job and actually leave valuable items behind? I was shocked. Overall: I had used El Sol several times and they were reliable. So on my first bad move, when some items arrived disheveled and others were forgotten, I figured after so many good moves, it must just be a bad day. However, I deeply regret giving them a second chance because the amount of damage I suffered on my last move is too great. Use a different moving company unless you don't care about the condition of your furniture or of receiving all your items to your new location. And if you're a professional house stager, designer, or decorator, definitely do not use this company or you will have very upset clients. read more

Arrived damaged, they couldn't be bothered to contact my designer nor me directly. I had to track it down, pick it up & uncrate it myself. And they still demanded payment for delivery. read more

Their employees have never been anything but totally professional, efficient and trustworthy. I dont think twice about letting them handle our fine artwork for shipping. Ive recommended them to friends several times and everyone always has great feedback from small, student moves to large homes. Never heard a complaint about using El Sol. I have nothing but positive things to say about El Sol, which I've used -- for moves both big and small -- for nearly five years now. The fact that nearly every high-end furniture store in town uses them for delivery should be indicative of the level of service provided. Contrary to what's stated in the review posted by "Charlize T.," they haven't once broken or damaged anything I've shipped in transit, and go to consider pains to protect even sturdy items on the off *chance* that something could happen to them while moving. Unlike many moving companies, there are no surprises, just a flat $85/hour rental rate for two guys and a very large truck. (No, not 18-wheeler big, but large enough to fit the contents of at least one house.) That makes them a great choice if you need to move something too heavy or unwieldy to get in your truck or SUV (and with a much lower chance of damage in transit), or if you need to move an entire house. They're experienced moving both high-end furniture as well as art, so they're a suitable choice even for the wealthiest folks not wanting their heirloom paintings or tapestries damaged during a move. They're usually prompt, and they always give you a call if they're running late due to traffic or an unexpectedly long move (as anyone with experience with moving guys can tell you, there is really no way to accurately predict how long a given move will take; the key, therefore, is for the waiting customer to be kept apprised of such delays, and El Sol always does so). They have a team of movers (though by this point I've used several of them at least a half-dozen times), and all are thoroughly trained and professional, with clear expertise (and not just brute strength) in the tasks of packing and moving. I've recommended El Sol to some of my closest friends in need of a mover (all of whom were ebullient about their standard of care), and wouldn't hesitate to do so to Yelpers as well. read more

This was my second time using El Sol. I left work early in order to be home for my 3-5pm delivery time slot. At 5pm, after no delivery shipment, I called the number that had called earlier in the day (which did not say anything about a delivery time change) and spoke to Devon. He said he came earlier in the day and I wasn't there so he left. I did not receive a call/email in advance asking if I would be available for an early delivery and sat around thinking someone was still coming like originally agreed upon. Devon said he would call his manager and call me back but did not receive any communication back. I wrote an email to the company following the lack of communication. I ended up having to call back the next day because no one responded back via email/phone. I expressed it was an inconvenience to leave work early and asked if they could accommodate a 5:30pm week day delivery or something on the weekend for the inconvenience caused. There was no apology or compromise. I ended up having to take more time off of work so they could do the delivery. I will say the delivery of my couch, and past furniture, was good but overall was very disappointed with the lack of communication and problem solving. read more

We used El Sol at the recommendation of our interior designer because they supposedly guaranteed their installation work. Well, now that the shelf fell out of the wall 9 months after installation, we are learning that El Sol's definition of a guarantee is very different from ours. El Sol refuses to do anything. We have to hire someone new and pay for the fix and reinstallation of the shelf ourselves. read more

First of all, if you have just boxes, plain simple stuff I wouldn't use these people. They are too slow and on purpose. I had 40 boxes, washer/dryer and a mattress and it took them 7 hrs for the move from my downtown condo to my storage. Bs! I was told no more than 3 hrs by Danny on the phone and he promised me it would be fast and quick. The movers are nice and pleasant but they will drain EVERY minute of your time. They billed me $85 per hour too no joke. I will not ever recommend this delivery company to ANYONE. They claim to service the "white glove" area but all they did was drag their feet, waste your time and bill you $85 per hr for doing so. I wouldn't use this moving company for anything. They may offer white glove, extra care type of service but please be beware that they will charge you an arm and leg for everything. Plus do just a "ok " job on their move. I used El Sol for a very large move into storage while building my new home. The management is horrible at customer service. This move cost was over 15k plus 1500.00 a month for storage fees. My son is in the Army and had some of his gear at my home while he was deployed. I asked that his gear be put in front of storage so it would be available when he returned. When I called ElSol to get his gear his very large duffle bug came up missing. I called several times with no response. The employees remembered his duffle bag and it was never recovered. I have recently gotten all of my belongings from them to also discover that two of my large area rugs were damaged by insects while in their care. Was told today that be ours I did not pay them for extra insurance that they will not cover the damage to them. They also tried to charge me for storage fees after I had them move me out of their storage. Was told also that my items were not at their storage but at a rented storage company. I'm not sure where my belongings have been for these past two years now. I will never recommend this company to anyone. read more
