So I decided to try this place during my lunch and I'm glad I did . The beef fajita tacos I ordered were right on point as the fajitas were tender and well seasoned . My waitress was very attentive and periodically would check on me and ask if anything was needed . The restaurant is a bit small in the inside but surprisingly they have lots of tables and the staff is fast . The candy selection at the register was very tempting as well if I must add . My husband and I visited Sunday around noon which was pretty busy, we didn't mind waiting. Our waitress was very nice, didn't catch her name but had beautiful reddish/ pink and black hair. We were enjoying lunch, I finished so I decided to get a head start and pay. My husband was still drinking his coffee when maybe a party of 6 arrived and one of the waitresses with blonde hair tattoo below her center neck got onto the young lady sitting people then came to our table slamming the tortilla container off the table and the sugar back in its place. I just looked at my husband he finished and we left. Im sure other guest saw her actions. Aside from this you can hear the waitresses shouting for things if you sit by the tables near registers. ( Management can review footage if needed) We sat by the restrooms. We paid $45.00 for a huevo ranchero plate with fajita and an enchilada plate, Tea, coffee and chips, a to go box and cup. We were in the South Side looking for a breakfast spot. There's plenty of seating. Our waitress was a little rough and took our order but was not friendly. I get the usual, Huevos rancheros, but I was not impressed. The beans were bland and the potatoes had been sitting and were cold and soggy. Was invited to eat here by a relative about 1pm during the week. It was extremely busy but there were tables available. The service was terrible, girl if you don't want to be a server find another position. Leave the attitude at home and make sure you take all the orders before you leave the table and don't have customers repeat orders again because you did not want to pat attention. Would give zero stars if I could. Very disappointed. Waitress took order with an attitude. We should have walked out but hoped the food would be good and stayed. Food came out (pork chop plates) no tortillas and pork chops overcooked and over seasoned and salty. Plates came out without tortillas which eventually were brought out (10 or so minutes later) Tortillas were burnt Beans are ok but rice is bland and mushy. We didn't eat the food and brought it up to the waiters and manager attention who didn't care. Will not be returning to this place. I went to Pay line and saw a male busboy on the side where the $15 cash was( a $10 and a $5) and a female busgirl helping him with the cleanup. I've been going to El Sol since I was 15, 27 now. I've always been a huge fan of their tacos! Their carne guisada, potato and egg and bean and cheese are the bomb.com! The reason I only give it four stars is because of the service. It's not the best and it's partly because they are always busy. So don't expect to interact with your server much. Do yourself a huge favor! Do not! I repeat do not go here! My husband brought me here for my birthday because it's what I wanted. I have never had a bad experience until my birthday. I got Norovirus here! Look it up! Google it! This is what Chipotle had gotten sued for! I worked for Chipotle for 3 1/2 years and they have upped their game because of this! Trust me you're don't want to get the Norovirus. You will definitely feel miserable. The wait staff is horrible. They have way too many employees and no one is really working. They are mostly talking to each other. The server ignored us and continued to talking to co workers. The Manager was no where in site. The chips were old and the tiny Salsa bowl was half way filled. The Salsa had no flavor. And the food was bland the beans were runny. The restaurant needs a deep cleaning front of the house. I'm sure that the back of the house looks worse. My husband and I have been coming here for years, and the food and service is usually good. Today though, we went for breakfast and we were both really disappointed in the quality of food. I ordered the chilequiles plate, and hubby ordered huevos rancheros with bacon. The eggs in my chilequiles were not cooked all the way(looked like snot) . And on both our plates the beans and potatoes were cold. Potatoes were also soggy, so definitely not fresh. Probably batch cooked and put in a warmer. Hoping today was just an off day. Also, they are using a new POS system so it was taking forever for people to pay. Line to pay was at least 10 people deep. Hopefully they get it straightened out soon. read more

I was under the weather a couple months ago like most people so i decide to stop by after seeing the huge bowl of soup upon dining in, i went twice for the chicken soup (Xochilo Soup Sp??) The soup has another name that doesn't truly describe what it is. i got a huge container with chicken pieces, chicken broth, Mexican squash, rice and chickpeas (hominy). I never thought about putting hominy in soup other then menudo. IT also comes with corn tortillas, limes, cilantro and pico de Gallo. All that was enough for at least two and a half bowls.
