Located on the main floor of PCM, this Mexican fast casual and dine in restaurant makes for great to go as well as sit down. Food has a home cooked savory nature. I ordered a bowl for lunch which was hearty and filling($17). They also had a sign up for happy hour deals. Sandwhiches,bowls, and sides.
Was recommenced this place from a local. Cuban food sounded great, came here for one thing and one thing only... the Cubano. The Cubano was probably the best one I've had to date. A mixture of shredded pork, ham, mustard, pickled on a toasted roll... this thing will fill you up for sure. We got a side order of the fried plantains, bomb combo. Would come back!
Swung by on a Friday and there was a small line. Got the beef pastelito and the guava. Was hoping to save the guava for later but downed both so quick. They were SO good. Especially bc they were warm and fragrant. The flaky pastry was perfect - delicate and buttery. Also good filling to pastry ratio. Can't wait to go back and have more.
Closer to 4.5 stars than 4 stars. Super cool storefront with their decor and bar setup if you want to eat there. I added up getting the media noche with tostones to go. The tostones were fried perfectly and came with a chipotle mayo that went perfectly with it. The sandwich was packeddddd full of meat and came with a side of chimcihurri or maybe it was with the tostones but overall the sandwich was so good. I will say that towards the end of the 2nd half of the sandwich, the pork was a bit dry but the sauces really helped with that. Overall was my only thing to nit pick but wish I had gotten the mofongo and a rice bowl
I loved my experience at El Super Pan inside Ponce City Market. Delicious Puerto Rican cuisine that is rare to find in most cities. The mofongo was a tasty blend of plantains and cilantro with the added crispness of garlic. It's a must try and pairs well with crispy pork belly topped with vegetables. The lively and fun ambiance of El Super Pan and Ponce City Market makes it worth a visit.
It's hard to find mofongo so when I see it on a menu, it's hard to resist! This one was very tasty and seasoned so well, with lots of herbs and garlic. The pork was also very tender and juicy, and everything went well with the broth. It was very pricey for the amount of food, but that is to be suspected for a food hall. There is some seating inside the place but most of the seating is in the food hall, which makes it nice if someone else in your group gets food elsewhere. The service was pretty quick as well which made it a good experience overall.
Maaaaaaaaaaaan this is THE BEST CUBAN SANDWICH I HAVE EATEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!! We were in town for a graduation and went to this plaza because there was something for everyone food wise. My brother, Dad, and I ordered at El Super Pan. We all had the pictured sandwich, I also had a rum punch and an order of mofongo. My brother had patties and plantains in addition to his sandwich. We had SO MUCH FOOD and EVERYTHING was delicious! Next time I'm in Atlanta I WILL be back.
Tasty!! Got a cubano with a side of tostones, and a guava fresca. Waited 15 min for food, which was pretty fast for the Saturday lunch crowd. Cubano was pretty massive, as were the tostones. Cubano was packed with roast pork, ham, perfect amount of pickles, all atop great a great loaf of bread. Tostones were like 3 slices of plantains smashed together, very crispy and tasty. The aioli it came with was a good dipping sauce. Guava fresca was just fine, not too sweet. Overall, great spot in Ponce City Market for lunch.
If you're craving Latin flavored food in the Atlanta area, this is it! It's in the Ponce De Leon Market food hall, so there's no set ambiance however ascetically it's pleasing. You have to find your own seating which depending on the time of day and day of the week may not be difficult. The food though is the star of the show! The rice and beans are packed with loads of Latin flavors. I loved the option of brown rice instead of white. The pulled pork was tender, juicy and just as flavorful. The tostones were made fresh. They were piping hot with the right amount of salt on them and an aioli dip. The mofongo was just as tasty with the sauce that comes along with it! I always enjoy coming here when in Atlanta! The service was quick and efficient.
After marathon length bicycle ride on the Beltline, headed into the market to EL Super Pan at the recommendation of the nike rental shop owner. I ordered the Media Noche sandwich, subbing out Cuban bread for the sweet brioche, this was a huge handheld stuffed full with Cuban roasted pork, tangy mojo, sweet ham, pickles, yellow mustard, swiss cheese, & crispy pork skin. Enjoyed tremendously with a cold beer, counter seating, friendly and efficient service.

After exploring Ponce City Market, we decided to order from El Super Pan. We had the Cubano Sandwich ($17.50) and Shrimp al Ajillo Super Bowl ($21). The Cubano included Cuban roasted pork, ham, salami, pickles, yellow mustard, Swiss cheese, mojo. There was a choice of side, so we chose the Tostones. The portion size was large, but I just thought it tasted okay because the meat was a little dry. For the super bowl, you have a choice of base -- we chose the rice and beans (bay leaf brown rice, slow cooked pink beans, veggies). The shrimp was sauteed adobo shrimp, onions, garlic confit, shrimp broth. Shrimps were jumbo size and vegetables were flavorful. read more

Chicken sofrito was okay, lacked flavor. Maduros were sweet as expected, interesting that they add onion and cilantro to the order. If you eat pork, you may like this place, but I do not eat pork, so no bueno. read more
This is now our go to whenever we are in Ponce City Market. To the point that we will tell all of our visitors to Atlanta to go to Ponce and specifically get the Cuban as well! For vegan eaters, the Vegan Cuban is amazing!! read more
I stopped by El Super Pan. While there, I sat at the bar. There was a little bit of a wait, so the server gifted me the beef pastry pictured. The meet was very flavorful, but the mofongo was different. It was very crispy. I enjoyed my meal, but for the price ($24) I was hoping that it would be more authentic and flavorful. ORIGIN: Hector Santiago opened El Super Pan in the Food Hall of Ponce City Market in 2015. El Super Pan was originally conceived and realized as a sandwich shop next to the Poncey-Highland restaurant Santiago once operated (Pura Vida). Jason Mann and George Frangos, who own the hamburger joint Farm Burger, are also partners. CONCEPT: Hector Santiago is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The small industrial-looking (not-Insta ready) shop serves food and beverages associated with Caribbean islands in which Spanish is popularly spoken, such as pressed Cubano sandwiches, Mofongo, Mojitos, and guava and cream cheese-filled pastries. However, the primary focus is sandwiches, hence the name, which translates as "the super bread". EXPERIENCE: Although a small counter space is available, guests typically order as take out and sit in the food hall. I ordered three dishes for take out during my stay, two of which had a side of Mofongo, while another represented one of several pressed sandwiches on the menu. Mofongo is composed of fried unripe plantains that are mashed with garlic and oil, and shaped into a form by hand or vessel. While typically golden in color, the chimichurri and cilantro added here contributes an attractive green hue to the dish at El Super Pan. Although not listed as an ingredient on the menu, I detected an occasional crispy component, which I attributed to being the inclusion of traditional fried pork skins to the mixture. I ordered Mofongo twice. The first time I chose to accompany the Mofongo with roast pork ($19), which evoked a previous encounter with what Chef/Owner Hector Santiago refers to as "Spanish Caribbean" cuisine at Philadelphia's Alma de Cuba (now closed). The shreds of pork were moist and speckled with cilantro leaves. A container of seasoned stock added to the complexity of the two dishes, and amplified the flavorful pork. I am still thinking about this dish and hope to know how to recreate it! The second time I ordered Mofongo with "smoked" tofu before heading to airport, thinking this dish did not demand immediate refrigeration. I received the same container of seasoned stock that had accompanied the pork, which I assume was a mistake as the dish is described as having a spicy tomato coconut sauce base. I can not validly comment on this dish as it was not presented as intended, but I was told by the cashier that it is popular. There are many pressed sandwiches on the menu, including the classic Cubano. As I love olives, my first pick was Olive Sofrito Chicken ($14), with a chosen side of plantains. The menu describes the sandwich as containing olive Sofrito chicken, cilantro chimichurri, lettuce, radish, celery, and carrots. I had assumed there would be olives in this dish, but I did not see nor taste any. I also did not notice any carrots, radish, nor celery in the sandwich (photo attached). The sandwich was largely composed of salad greens, making it a good light option, but not what I had in mind. Regardless that the ingredient that had drawn me to order this dish was not detectable, I think it's best to choose components that benefit from being hot pressed between bread -- items that are typically served warm and/or intentionally melted (cheese). TIPS: Although not busy during times I ordered take out, components described on the menu were missing or not clearly visible at each of the three visits. Not sure if this was due to carelessness, misunderstanding, or lack of ingredients. I suggest guests check the menu description with what is received before leaving the food hall. A breakfast special is available starting at 9 AM. the sandwich includes several eggs, ham, and salami, and one of the warmed pastries for $12. I did not try it, but it seems like a good deal and an opportunity to enjoy the food hall before it is fully open and crowded. Periodic special deals may be found on the El Super Pan website. Cocktails are available, allowing convenient pick up at the same food hall shop, but my one experience (Margarita (missing salt/mostly ice)) suggests it may be best to choose one of the bottled options. read more
El Super Pan's sandwiches are pricy, but I can't say I'm too surprised by it because most food at Ponce City Market is expensive. I got the Olive Sofrito Chicken with Tostones ($15), while my partner ordered the Cubano with Rice & Beans ($17.50). The Olive Sofrito Chicken barely had any olives and the chicken was very dry. The Tostones were too hard and difficult to bite into. However, the roasted pork inside the Cubano was soft and the sandwich had great flavor. The Rice & Beans was also well flavored. read more

The food is OK. The chips and salsa is delicious but they give you enough salsa for one person and then when you ask for more they charge you an additional four dollars! The chips and salsa cost eight dollars to start. The piña colada normally delicious today was too sweet and the fungo Verde is good but adding tofu is an extra eight dollars for eight cubes that seems high.. if the food was outstanding, maybe it would be worth it but it's not and I definitely didn't feel like it was worth paying over $45 plus tip. read more

If you are ready for a flavor bomb, go to El Super Pan. I came here for lunch and the line was long but moved quickly. I got the Mofongo with Cuban Roasted Pork. It came with the broth on the side so I could pour it over the meat and plantain. (A little goes a long way so just pour a little as you go) The mofongo was well seasoned, and the broth was very garlicky, in a good way! My husband got the Cubano. It was our first time trying any kind of Cubano and we loved it. Extremely flavorful and a large portion size. The sandwich also came with a side so he got tostones, which were only two tostones total but they were quite big and well cooked. The only thing was that the prices did seem a little high. However we didn't fully finish the Cubano until later since it was so hefty! Service was good. The cashier knew the menu well and our food came out pretty quickly. Vibes are great since they have music pumping at all times. There is only a small section to sit, but there is plenty of seating at Ponce City Market so we just grabbed a nearby table. We will be back to try more sandwiches! read more

I'm always on the prowl for authentic mofongo! My bar is HIGH! As someone who has tried the best mofongo in PR my expectations are for it to be that good! Sadly, el super pan was not up to the mark. They certainly have room to make it more authentic and to provide other sauce options. I'm grateful for the tofu option and had heard a lot of positive hype for this spot. Sadly, I don't feel it lived up to the hype or my expectations. read more

My food came out quick and easy. I got the vegetable empanadas, which were very good. I would definitely go back and get them again. I got a drink as well. I can't remember the name of it, but it was delicious. The service was quick. The ambience is great because there's so much look at even people watch while you eat. The cuban sandwich comes with a side for a total of $18 after tax. The cuban was flavorful and filling! The pork was a bit dry and there was salami in the sandwich which I have never seen before. The salami was a flavorful addition! The rice and beans were comforting and not too salty. I would come back to try more sandwiches and the yucca fries! read more

Such delicious food and hits close to home! They had bad bunny playing and it made the wait for our food go by quicker. It's a quick spot with vibrant decorations and delicious food! Wow! I felt like I was back in Puerto Rico! I had the maduros which were great and the mofongo with pork which was amazing. So tasty! I tried the guava juice for the first time and loved it. Service was good and quick. I highly recommend you give them a try! read more
Get the Cubano sandwich with roasted pork, ham, salami, yellow mustard, and Swiss cheese. It's perfectly crispy, and tangy and salty. It's hands down the best sandwich I've eaten in at least five years. The yucca fries are also perfection: crispy, yet tender, a hint of salt, not gristly or stringy, just pure bliss. There was a long line, but open seating at the bar. Was greeted promptly and with great customer service knowing the menu and likeness. Service was great. The manager checked in to make sure the food was delicious. Very clean and lively atmosphere! You HAVE to take a polaroid and put it on the wall for some memories collected! The Miami Vice was good. I wish I asked for a floater and they stacked it instead of one and one. I know for next time, so it's more even in the drink. Overall definitely coming back! read more

This was my second time visiting ponce and I had to make sure I tried this restaurant. I was blown away with the serving size of my food and how delicious it tasted! The restaurant was busy but staff was still friendly and quick to get orders out which is always appreciated. I had the sofrito chicken sandwich with rice & beans and tostones. The sandwich was so big that I could only eat half of it at the time! The rice and beans were hot and seasoned well, a great pair with my sandwich. The tostones were also very good and crispy! The restaurant is unique and I liked the ambiance of the entire seating area near by. It was a great lunch spot and definitely one of my favorites when visiting the food hall! read more

A filling Cuban sandwich and tostones. ($17) The tostones come with mayo so I put it on my sandwich and did the tostones in it. There is a bar but that's usually full. So there are tables everywhere, standing and non standing. Getting there earlier helps you avoid the line but services is pretty fast anyway. read more

I just had the most perfect Cuban (and rice and beans). The only thing I would have changed is... I wish I was hungrier. My husbands old fashioned and my hibiscus mojito were also both lovely. I could eat one of these Cubans daily! And... our service was outstanding!!! Thanks, Niko! Don't sleep on El Super Pan!! Edit to add: the husband asked of all the food we ate over the weekend, what was my fave? This.
