Sadness. One of the worst asada tacos I've ever had. Seems like some unmarinated steak was sautéed in a pan then tossed with onions then thrown onto a tortilla. The beans were cold and bland. The only saving grace was the al pastor and mediocre rice. I mean, who really goes to a taco truck to get great rice? But for 11 bucks for a taco plate, I'm expecting good tacos. Forget the sides. I am not happy that we ordered at 800 and were told it was a 15 minute wait and then didn't get our food till 45 minutes later. The food is mediocre. Had their carne asada and shredded chicken taco and carne asada burrito. Tacos were dry, meet had no taste, not seasoned at all. Just a pinch of salt would make a huge difference. Also things like mild salsa or lime (which they did not have) would solve some the moisture problem. Burrito was boring. Same thing - seasoning. Delicious tacos and the only place with late night eats at 1:30am in the Lahaina area as everything else here closes early. Tacos were a little in the pricier side $3.75 per shrimp taco and I believe the fish tacos were $4 each, but boy they were pretty good! On yelp this place had amazing reviews and someone that worked at the hotel I stayed at said that this place is amazing as that it has the fish tacos in Hawaii. I ordered a fish burrito (I can't eat chicken). My dad got the chicken burrito and my mom and brother got fish tacos. The order took over 30 minutes. Once we got the order, they couldn't tell us the chicken and fish burritos apart. Why not marked the burrito?. The guy guessed and he guessed wrong so we had to return the chicken one. Food was good but the service was terrible. I ordered a taco plate with 3 El pastor tacos which is supposed to come with rice and beans. After waking back to my hotel I realized I did not receive my beans. I did not even want the rice so I was just looking forward to the beans to have with my tacos. I walked back to the food truck to ask about the issue and the worker completely flipped out on me for no reason. I simply asked why I did not get beans; he told me they were out (fine). I told him I was not informed when I purchased or I would have just gotten the tacos. He persisted to tell me I was I informed as I ordered and I needed to walk away (I was not; even if I was he did not have to be rude). He then ask "what do you want, your money back?". In which I simply told him I wanted the issue with the beans resolved, and that I had already enjoyed the tacos. At this point he took the rice back and told me to get lost and that I was "ungrateful and I should be happy with my tacos since I decided to eat them". The entire experience was ridiculous as I was simply trying to get the issue with my $2 beans resolved. Idk if this guy was just an A-hole or if he was having a bad day, but there was absolutely no need for this guy to treat a customer the way he did. Guys like this make me think twice about tipping on take out because they did not deserve a dime.
