    Chorizo tacos

Loved the chorizo tacos. Mouth watering just thinking about them. Canceled my dinner plans so I can go back. Is 6 tacos (2 orders) too much for one person? Don't judge me, just love me and give me tacos!!!!

3 stars seems the most fitting. Nothing special. Would probably tell someone to pass on this one. That being said, seeing the other ratings, this might be the best option here haha I got the carne asada tacos and again - pretty mid.

This place is a must try if you're in the area and looking for something different for dinner. I'm especially picky when it comes to Mexican food and I would definitely go back if I was staying in Maui for a few more weeks. Burrito: I ordered the burrito with red sauce and it was amazeballs. It was so good that I was even willing to share so everyone in my family could give it a try. When I couldn't finish due to the size, my teenagers quickly gobbled it up. The flavors are plenty with the right amount of spice. Torta: This is a Mexican sandwich that my husband ordered. It was huge! He ate half for dinner. The next morning he warmed it up, added an egg to it, and enjoyed it for breakfast.

I stopped by here this past Friday night with my wife for dinner. We were looking for a place to eat whenever my wife found the Hoopiilani Food Truck Park. After looking around for a bit, my wife and I decided to each pick a place and split the meal. I ultimately decided on having dinner from the El Taco Borracho food truck. Since it's a food truck, there's not much to say about it other than there were 2 guys working the inside and they had some fun music playing. For dinner on this evening I decided to order a Cameron Borracho as well an elote. It took about 10 minutes for my food to be ready and when it was, they called out my ticket number and I grabbed my food and sat at one of the picnic table. I began with the Mexican Street Corn which was fun as it came on a stick. The spice on it combined with the cotija cheese gave it a great flavor which I really enjoyed. After I had finished with that I started in on my entree. The shrimp in it were super sweet and cooked nicely. I especially enjoyed the garlic on them and whenever it was on the rice it tasted really nice. However, without it, it was quite plain tasting. The salad and crema or dressing on it was really good as well and I enjoyed eating them. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I liked both my street corn and entree and would be interested in trying more things in the future.

    Fantastic Beef Tacos !!!

I got an order of Beef Tacos and they were very delicious with plenty of meat and had a good amount of salt in them. You could taste the meat n tell it was seasoned along with not being too greasy. The meat was also juicy n tender and the other stuff in the order were all great like the meat filling. The corn tortillas were soft n not real greasy like some places. I am not too big on tacos like other Mexican foods such as chicken enchiladas which I love, but these were great stuff.

Food was fire. Very filling. Probably the only Mexican spot I'd recommend on the island.

Maybe the burritos with meat are better but for $16 I had a very mediocre non-meat burrito.

We waited too long on our first night in Hawaii to decide where to eat. Hubby pulled up the Yelp…read moreapp, put in sushi and this food truck came up as still open at 7:30 pm. We decided to hit the road and find it. Lucky we did! It was open, there was no line. It had a great assortment of rolls and a good number of options for nigiri. We got 4-5 rolls and some nigiri and a poke bowl. It was all freshly made, perfectly rolled and came out at the time told to us, about 15 minutes. We ate it in the car- we didn't notice the ants in the table until after we sat down to wait for about 10 minutes. I followed them on instagram and they posted our order. So cool! We went back one more time during our trip.

At least two of our uber drivers mentioned this place as a top sushi place on Maui, and I'm glad…read morethey recommended it! Smash Maui is an absolute vibe. We stopped by on a Monday night around 7:30 pm after doing the road to Hana. They had some Whitney Houston and Shakira bumpin, some cute garden lights, and three outdoor picnic tables for diners. We ordered and had to fill up on gas, so we picked up some drinks from the nearby gas station and got back to wait for the food. The server said it would take about 15 minutes, and I think that was pretty accurate. We ended up ordering the following: Salmon Nigiri - 3/5 this was a little bit more salty than I normally expect of my nigiri. Spicy California Roll - 5/5 tasted like a fresh California roll with some spicy mayo on it. It wasn't very spicy though? Mild enough for the non-spice lovers. Tempura Roll - 5/5 this was probably my favorite roll. It was simple yet delicious. You can't ever go wrong with unagi sauce. Smash Roll - 4/5 the smash roll was really good. It had a good, well-rounded taste with the tuna and salmon. This was my husband's favorite roll. If you're feeling like you need some good Asian-American sushi, check out Smash Maui! It's going to hit!

More than enough for one person../probably a little too much for one person :) The inside has pretty limited seating and there is some outdoor seating, but also limited- so you may want to consider ordering to go. The parking lot is also pretty tight since the entire back row is reserved for employees

Beans were well cooked and flavored. So was the rice. The bananas/ plantains added good sweet flavor to the whole meal. The coconut cheese was interesting. Never had that before but it did taste like cheese and added flavor. The jackfruit arepa sandwich that we had, could have had the jackfruit, cheese, plantains mixed together better. The jackfruit bowl was better as it was easier to mix everything and get all the flavors together. Pretty much same as the sandwich but a little more and easier to mix (so would recommend the bowl over the sandwich). The sandwich seemed to be made of rice. We also had a mango and a coconut slushie drink. The mango tasted like the mango concentrate from Costco (sugary) and the coconut was a little more original/ different. We liked both though. Limited indoor seating. Outdoor seating available. Steady flow of patrons. The only thing I didn't like was that the price was a bit high though in my opinion but I guess everything in Maui is that high priced. Update: went back and got a coconut slushie drink again :) and tried the plant based mushroom and cheese (coconut cheese) and fish empanada. They were delicious with the mushroom being our favorite. The chipotle sauces and cilantro onion sauces were delicious as well! The empanadas are not made to order (they are premade so you cannot seperate out the cheese from the mushroom but it does not have a strong flavor). I also liked the coconut slushie by itself vs mixed with mango. Note: The empanadas come in 2: when you eat in house, a red Chipotle sauce and white cilantro onion sauce are given with it (as well as with the arepas); there is another sauce for vegans (think it's a cilantro/ oil/ spice sauce). We liked the white sauce better than the vegan sauce. The empanadas are not made to order (they are premade). If you order to go, you are only given once sauce. If you want more than one, you need to just add it on before you leave with the big dispensers. Otherwise, you only get one sauce (not sure why you can't just add white and red sauce in the same to go container but we weren't given the option). And, to make things worse, the lady said curtly she would charge me next time for 2 sauces "due to the plastic". well, thank you for not charging me but the statement was unnecessary IMHO. Note for improvement (and for this, I was tempted to drop the star rating): we came here multiple times and gave your business a lot of our dollars (about 135.00), yet the above statement, I don't think was necessary if you are trying to provide good customer service. You should gladly offer extra of the sauce or even, as I suggested above, allow customers to add the sauce themselves if they want more than 1 sauce and you don't want us to "use up your plastic containers". Kind of left a bad taste in our mouths.
