My wife wanted to come here tonight to get her Gorditas with asada and I decided to try their asasa tacos. She called the restaurant to place in the order. The lady who took the call said it would take about ten minutes. When we arrived to the place, the plaza wasn't busy so there was parking. When we walked inside, the place is kind of small and had people waiting for their food or eating there. They do charge a fee if you pay with a card. The lady handed us our order and also confirm what it was before we left. My wife enjoyed her Gorditas asada since that's her go to when ordering from here. I didn't really like the asada tacos. The tortillas was not my favorite and the taste of the asada was not my favorite. The red sauce does have a spiciness to it. read more

The best taco llama in the San Fernando valley! I've tried them all unfortunately waisting my time. The flavors and freshness they have here are not met elsewhere. The service is always quick and nice. The inside also offers tables for dine in. Even when I take the food Togo after 30 minutes it's still top notch. Best asada fries, I highly recommend. If not, try their asada burrito or Gordita which are equally tasty along side one of their frescas. read more

Food is ok, prices higher than normal but the lady taking the orders is unfriendly and rigid on customizations even after many years. So much for loyal customers. We love the food here and that's never a problem. We've been living in the neighborhood for over 30 years and order at least 3-4 times a week. Today my husband went to pick up the order I put over the phone. We're pescatarian and almost always order 2 bean, rice, cheese and onion burritos. Sometimes we get the Chile relleno or the Caldo de pescado. All excellent and tasty dishes but the service that this particular lady that occasionally is there and my husband has encountered a few times is horrendous. She accidentally misheard my order, she said, when I called because we got 2 carne asada burritos and my husband thought it was strange that the total was $25 but he didn't say anything. He said that it was the same rude lady he always encounters so he didn't want to interact with her any longer. I've personally have never met her. When he got home I checked the burritos and they were carne asada. I called and she said she misheard meat, rice, beans and cheese and that if he came back she would have the burritos ready and would refund my card. When my husband got back from going back again he was super upset and said she told him "next time check your order because I'll get in trouble." How was he supposed to check 2 wrapped burritos?! When I called her back to complain about her customer service she said "I repeated the order back to him and you over the phone. She didn't because I would've heard meat and if you order meat wouldn't the next question be "what kind of meat?" I told her that was a lie because when I first called she didn't even say hello Taco llama because I was in the middle of talking to my daughter and I heard the phone pick up but no one said anything until I said hello then she said how can I help you. I was furious that she tried to blame us for her mistake. I asked her what her name was and she said with an attitude "It's Angie and you can call back and talk to Charlie." I told her that she needs to learn how treat regular customers that live in the neighborhood because her behavior was unacceptable. My husband does not want to order from them anymore but I told him the restaurant shouldn't suffer because of one employee that doesn't care about the restaurant and has terrible customer service. I worked in restaurants for over 20yrs and I can't even give less stars because of 1 employee that will affect their rating.There's always another older Mexican lady that even knows my voice when I call and is super nice and gives the best customer service. Unfortunately I don't know her name but if it wasn't for her I would not go back to avoid the other lady. Yesterday was my great granddaughter's 1st birthday party and my daughter ordered a taco truck from El Taco Llama. The food was fabulous and the employee Carlos was wonderful. He was on time and was very courteous and pleasant. Everyone enjoyed their food. He had four kinds of meat, rice and beans with several different toppings to choose from. In Los Angeles there's a Mexican places on every corner and it's difficult to find one that makes food that's very good, authentic, and at a good price. I went into this place expecting a quick and inexpensive work lunch. I got that and much more. The food was delicious. The asada seasoned perfectly - it was not dry or salty. And that green salsa.....wow that was amazing. Also all there aguas frescas are made in house and not from powder mix or concentrate. So that horchata was sooooo good. Called in to Taco llama in Arleta on Saturday May 28th 2022 and the woman who answered was very rude. I ordered a steak burrito and when I get there its $13.90, yeah it was a all steak burrito with no rice or beans but the burrito was like 20% smaller than what I used to get at Taco llama in Northridge. Then she puts like 10 tortilla chips in the bag and I literally had to beg her for extra hot sauce. I get that prices have gone up but $13.90 for one burrito, no I don't think so. Never again. Sorry I had big hopes for this place it is clean looks like a nice place to eat I am a person that loves tortas ahogadas had eaten them in a lot of places and yes I'm from Guadalajara city where this a traditional dish so no one Can said I don't know how a torta ahogada should taste!! I orde 4 of them tortas ahogadas are soppouse to be sunk in salsa they gave me two cups of salsa maybe with 8 oz on each cup total 16 oz when I ask for more salsa theyre answer was I can't give you more that should be enough for 5 tortas sorry but it wasn't enough!!!! I think it sucks that this place has such a low overall review. I don't know what people are expecting from a taco place... but WE LOVE TACO LLAMA and this location is no exception. We walked in and were greeted warmly, ordered our food and got service with a smile, sat down and water was brought over to our table. The staff was super nice and accommodating. We needed something we got it, with a smile. We come here for the freaking delicious food but the workers here are so nice!! So on to the food... There were 4 of us with 2 taco asada plates and 2 taquito plates. SO. FREAKIN. GOOD! We're from Vegas and couldn't wait to come here actually. The flavor of the meat, the portions, the toppings (I like cilantro with no onions, and it was no problem, where at other places it is) all perfect. Rice and beans also yummy! They hold the spot for my favorite salsa. The red salsa on a carne asada taco is a must. The green is good too but oh that red sauce. I've had so many others that just weren't right. This one is perfect. I got an horchata and it was also delicious. Man, I wish I was there now. I don't think the price is bad either for what you get with the quality, taste and service! Been going to this place for 3+ years and the last couple of months I have had nothing but bad service ans the food as well. I have found hair in my food which i found after opening my chicken quesadilla to pick out some of the bell peppers, how disgusting. Even worse it was not the first time.
