Chicken mole and menudo with home made corn tortillas
    G 2.

Found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. What sold me was the hand made corn tortillas they are constantly making! As soon as I arrived I saw the cook making each tortilla one by one with a flow that was unbelievable! I give her props and hope thy are paying her well. Ordered the menudo and the chicken mole. Parking is a challenge but so well worth it!!!! Give this place a try and you'll thank me later.

For years driving by looked scary outside. Never noticed Our Lady of Guadalupe until today. Gave it a shot and it was fab with chunks. Bring a towel if you want a clean table.

Friendly, locals-only, economical. Menu has buche, chicharon, cabeza, different caldo, seafood cocktails. All my favorites. Staff were so patient and nice. Too bad all the soups were sold out the day we visited.

El Taco Loco #5 is part of a small chain of Mexican fast-food restaurants. They have an extensive menu with all the normally expected Mexican food items. Tacos are, of course, one of their most popular items. Great quality with lots of meat and toppings. I've found that I usually don't feel like I need to add hot sauce to make them more palatable. The tacos use just one tortilla, but that tortilla is thick and light, so don't think you're missing something if they don't use two corn tortillas. There are almost a dozen meat/protein options, which should cover just about anyone's wants. I've frequently ordered one of the Torta sandwiches. Excellent. But sometimes, I've added some hot sauce to spice them up. If you don't speak Spanish, you should be able to order your food successfully. I mention this because sometimes I've experienced a lack of English knowledge on the part of the workers; whether this was real or they were 'playing' with me, I don't know, but it has made some trips here interesting. The restaurant is getting on the older side. For many years, this was an Astro Burger and didn't get much of a facelift when El Taco Loco took over the building. The signs outside are faded and could do with an update. The handwritten menu inside is in Spanish and English, so everyone should be able to make an order. Please note that while the mailing address for this restaurant is Torrance, it is physically located outside the City of Torrance, in the L.A. Corridor. The Torrance post office handles their mail, hence the Torrance address.

The service was friendly and fast. Lots of parking right outside the restaurant. This is definitely a take out spot for me. The menudo was packed with protein (served only on weekends). The torta de lengua was tender and the bread was very fresh.

My co-worker took us here for lunch. I must say they have some of the best tacos i've had in a long time. The crispy pork belly tacos were to die for. Their burrito is also very good. The ordering process is traightforward and there can be a line. The place is definitely your typical hole in a wall taco joint. Parking can be tough during lunch. Their tamarind and horchata drinks are a must. sweet and tangy, you get the best of both.

Service was very friendly and attentive and we were promptly seated and served fresh chips along with a trio of salsas which were fresh and had the perfect levels of spice. My son had the kids enchilada and enjoyed his meal. I ordered 3 tacos from the à la carte menu. The chicken was fine but the fish and shrimp were undercooked and I couldn't eat them, which is why I deducted the one star. The other deduction was for the underwhelming flavors in the meals themselves. Usually when a Mexican restaurant had amazing salsa, the same vibe carries through with the entrees , but unfortunately it wasn't my experience. I would probably try once more and edit my review based on a second experience.

I've been here before, and the birria tacos were exactly what I needed for a late-night craving. Crispy on the outside with a good amount of filling and strong flavor - they really hit the spot. I ended up having four of them. The consomé on the side was really good too - rich and flavorful, almost something I could've just had on its own. The street tacos were solid. The carnitas had that tender, slightly crisp texture, and the al pastor added a bit more seasoning and contrast. Nothing overcomplicated, just straightforward and satisfying. Service was friendly, and the setup is quick and casual. In the South Bay where places tend to close early, it was nice that they were open until around 10pm. Overall, this is a no-frills taco spot where the focus is on the food. Easy choice when you're in the mood for tacos.

I have been seeing them on my feed but for some reason haven't stopped in yet. As a solo diner I felt pleasantly welcomed as I walked it. The sweet gal behind the counter was very friendly and engaging when I asked her questions seeing it was my first time here. I chose the two taco combo, carne asada was my meat of choice. The two other options were shrimp and chicken. The combo comes with chips and a drink along with my choice of salsa. I have to tell you I was pretty impressed with my tacos. They were loaded with meat; which was really tasty. They had cilantro and onion and avocado. The chips were fresh and also very good. I liked the salsa as well. The two gals working the counter and who brought my food were so sweet. She even came back to ask if I needed anything and gave me extra salsa. They have numerous TVs (got to catch some of the Dodger game. ) in there and they do so alcohol as well. I will definitely be back. This was a very nice solo lunch experience..

After waiting about 10 minutes, I went to the counter, and it took even longer before an employee asked for my name. It turned out my order had been sitting there for over 20 minutes while takeout orders were being prioritized. When they finally handed me my food, it was still in a bag even though my order was for dine-in, and I had to remind them to give me my drinks. They also forgot to include salsa for the chips. What really frustrated me was being told that next time I should just go to the counter after ordering at the kiosk. As a first-time customer, how was I supposed to know that? If the kiosk orders aren't being monitored, that's something the restaurant should address--not something customers should have to figure out on their own. After this experience, there won't be a next time.

Today was the asada vVda burrito. Deassada was fresh, tender and juicy with lots of flavor. All the other ingredients blended well. It was on a smaller side but just enough. Albondigas was the worst of the order. It was hardly a soup that brought savory broth feeling and tender meatballs that comfort you. Instead the broth was super bland, meatballs were flavorless and too firm to cut with the. Had lots of veggies which was a plus if you like sweet with veggies which I do. I just wish they were also tender, swimming and good broth. Most restaurant serve fresh chips and salsa which they did. Complimentary chips were hard. This also was too heavy on oregano. Ordered some guacamole but had to ounce for them to cook fresh tosadas so we could eat with the guac instead of the hard chips. $14 wasn't too bad for the price and the portion. I did enjoy the one fish taco that I ordered. Was huge portion but stacked so high that you could barely close the tortilla. This is the first time I bought a flour. Tortilla worked well for the taco. It was also bland but I was able to salvage it with some of their spicy salsa that I requested. Places are heavy on the alcohol and drink menu which likely is a draw. I actually really love the Paloma which was non-alcoholic. However, the food must meet the mark and today I am sad to say it missed on several points For my standards. I really did appreciate the staff who were all very helpful, super friendly and did their best to accommodate all of our asks. The location is nice right on the Redondo Beach strip with so many food options to choose from.
