I had the Camarones Rancheros (this one is served with no sauce, just sauteed bell peppers + onions + tomatoes), the Caldo de Pollo (DEELICIOUS, OMG). my friend had a couple HUGE hard-shelled tacos & my hubby had their soft tacos. everything was great & their chips n' salsa were delicious. service was excellent. the only downside was the exhaust fan in the women's restroom wasn't working. it kinda smelled like someone died in there. maybe please fix the fan. read more

I have been craving good authentic Mexican food and this hit the spot! I get it a breakfast burrito may not be authentic Mexican food, but the chili relleno inside totally was and the two tacos I had for dinner definitely were. The breakfast burrito was huge and totally hit the spot and fueled me all day. The chili relleno was distinct and delicious in the middle of all the other goodness. The red salsa on top of it was refreshing. The beef tacos for dinner were huge, stuffed with fillings. I always love that they give whole corn tortillas instead of chips. Threw some cheese on those with the rest of the red salsa and made myself some nachos to eat while bingeing tv shows. This was my first time at this location, I've only ever gone to the S. Very surprised at how much meat they gave since most restaurants are super stingy. This will definitely fill you up. However, it wasn't anything special. Yes, it's authentic. Any Mexican restaurant, even a chain one, in So Cal is authentic Mexican food. Is this a good Mexican food? That depends on what you are looking for. My chief critic note about this chain is that the food isn't spicy. I had the chicken burrito which apparently tasted like it was boiled. In other words, the shredded chicken needed a lot more kick. I remediated to adding salsa to the burrito. The portions are huge that even the smaller size Jr was a challenge to finish. Casual dining in strip mall. Service was adequate. On any given Tuesday, you might find us here! This restaurant is located in a shopping center near Providence Little Company Of Mary Hospital & Amazon Fresh. There are a number of restaurants and stores in this plaza, including the new(ish) Amazon Fresh. Parking is tight, but there's plenty of spaces if you're willing to walk a little further. It has grown on us and now I even suggest coming here instead of going to other places! We are here mainly for Taco Tuesday! We share a side of Refried Beans with Cheese melted over the top ... it's so good! Each of us order just one taco and we're good! I get either the Al Pastor or Carnitas and hubby opts for the Ground Beef. The Big Tacos/Hard Shell are normally $4.25, I think. On Taco Tuesday, they are $2.99. Soft Tacos cost a little more. They are big, filling, and one is enough! We also order an Horchata. So, for $17.34 + tip, we have dinner for two! When we don't come on a Tuesday, we have tried: Burritos, Tacos, Tamales, Chile Relleno, #12 Carnitas, Rice, Beans & Tortillas #13 Carne Asada, Rice, Beans & Tortillas #19 Beef Taco, Chile Relleno & Beans #22 Chile Verde Platter, Rice, Beans, & Tortillas We love their salsa! Sometimes it has a nice little kick to it! If you like Habanero Salsa, they have a green one you can order for a fee. It cost $4 when we got it in May of 2024 ... that's a little pricey! We just bring our own Hot Sauce and add some to their complimentary red salsa. They serve tostadas as chips. I've noticed that the initial batch of "chips" they bring when you are seated aren't quite the same as the ones they bring later on when we ask for more. The service on a Sunday in the early evening was fast and pleasant. The host and the waitress were ever helpful and attentive. The food looks great, however the ground beef in the tacos and the California burrito needs more flavor. The meat was very bland. However, their sauces and salsa are delicious and helped give the ground beef more flavor. The portions are very generous and the basket of chips is made up of whole fried tortillas which is a unique and fun spin on chips and salsa. We went in and there was no one to seat us, someone finally said to sit where we wanted. We had a booth and it was clean and comfortable. They brought chips which were stale and they were really just whole fried corn chips, likely out of a bag. We did not eat them and my grandson loves chips. We ordered and told the server we had a concert to get to so we could order now. She said she would be right back, but we had to flag her down. We ordered and the food was nothing more than average. The soft meat taco was fine. The beans with cheese was very good. The rice was dry and no one ate it. The cheese enchiladas were fine, something you might get in the frozen food section of any market. The food was brought hot. There was nothing at all great about any of it. The prices are a tad high for what you get. The guacamole, by the way was tasty, but the portion was small. I ordered a wet carne asada burrito. The carne was not real carne asada (flap meat) it was just regular beef cut in squares with plenty of gristle . The "guacamole" it came with was awful. Like the cheap kind you buy that isn't real. The red sauce on my wet burrito tasted like straight up tomato sauce ! Horrible burrito. The good: We got seated right away and had a spacious table. I tried the burrito deluxe and #14 (carne asada, guacamole, red rice, Pico de gallo, tortilla). The tortilla came nice and hot. We got free refills if the chips and salsa. The Jamaica was sweet and tasty. I liked the authentic Mexican feel inside with decorative items like sombreros, wooden donkey statue, clay vases and the Mexican flag. The meat in the burrito was very tender. It was a wet style burrito which made the burrito really easy to eat with just a fork and no knife (much like an enchilada). The bad: There's no outdoor seating that I saw. The servers forgot to give us menus, utensils and napkins. It took awhile for our credit card to be picked up. There's no baby changing table. I would've liked for the salsa to be spicier and for there to be more elements of acid in the food (pickled peppers, lime, or heat). The interesting: The tortilla chips in the free appetizer were like tostadas rather than smaller triangular chips. The second batch we got were slightly warm while the first was room temperature. So I normally love El Burrito Jr - their PCH location is amazing and this is their sit down fancier location. I ordered food to go today and it was good EXCEPT it's such a pet peeve of mine when I get a bean and cheese burrito and the cheese isn't melted all the way. Also, I really hate when I get a bean and cheese burrito and there is random stuff in it - like just 1 piece of lettuce, one piece of tomato, etc. Like Obviously something fell into my bean and cheese burrito while they were making it which is just kinda a yucky surprise when you take a bite and taste something random in your food... The other thing I don't like about this location is that they don't have street tacos (you know with the cilantro and onions) - they just have the other tacos with cheese and lettuce and tomatoes which are fine but I prefer street tacos. I think maybe they just had a bad day today so I'm willing to give them another try. I'd give them 1 star today but in the past they were 4 stars so I'm rounding up and we'll see how it is the next time I come back.... read more

I had an Asada burrito which was mushy inside almost like a puree, and if I closed my eyes I'd think I was eating dog food. Our server was somewhat impatient when we weren't ready to order, and overall just not very friendly. Chips and salsa were good. Many years ago I used to go the the EBJ in Redondo by the beach. This Torrance location is close to Providence (LCM) hospital and is a sit down place. Haven't dined in here but, have come here twice within the last month or so to get a burrito for the Mister and cheese enchiladas for me. On two occasions, I've gotten the deluxe burrito either wet w/carne asada or dry. My hubby approves and says their burritos tasty. I always enjoy my cheese enchilada's from EBJ. Beans and rice are A-OK here too. They are not quite 4 stars like their original location in Redondo. When I've stopped by on a weeknight, the order taker/cashier in the front is always nice and calls out my order. There was one time she forgot about my ice water while I was waiting but, I was occupied on my phone that I forgot about it myself. This is located next to the UPS store and somehow it is easy to miss like a yelp friend mentioned them having an "obscure door." Parking is shared w/other businesses and eateries like the Habit, Panda, Giuliano's, and more. The 3 star yelp average is accurate. read more
