Very casual place with good service. I have ordered the fajitas and tacos in the past. Delicious! Parking in the large lot.
I have been craving good authentic Mexican food and this hit the spot! I get it a breakfast burrito may not be authentic Mexican food, but the chili relleno inside totally was and the two tacos I had for dinner definitely were. The breakfast burrito was huge and totally hit the spot and fueled me all day. The chili relleno was distinct and delicious in the middle of all the other goodness. The red salsa on top of it was refreshing. The beef tacos for dinner were huge, stuffed with fillings. I always love that they give whole corn tortillas instead of chips. Threw some cheese on those with the rest of the red salsa and made myself some nachos to eat while bingeing tv shows. This was my first time at this location, I've only ever gone to the S. Redondo location before. I like that one can eat a sit down meal inside here. I'll be back soon!
This place has the best chili rellanos. I don't think it's authentic Mexican but they coat it with a lot of egg and it's delicious. This time around I ordered the cheese enchilada combo. Good and the beans and rice are delicious. Hubby had the bean and cheese burrito. Prices are reasonable and portions are large.
Came to El Burrito Jr since we saw great reviews for the other location. This location had fast service and a big menu which was awesome. I ordered #13 Carne Asada Plate with Rice, Beans & Tortillas. #13 Carne Asada, Rice, Beans & Tortillas - Pretty big plate. Very surprised at how much meat they gave since most restaurants are super stingy. This will definitely fill you up. However, it wasn't anything special. I feel like I could have easily made the exact thing at home but maybe it would taste even better than this. Not mad about this meal, but it was very average. Overall, pretty reliable and quick Mexican restaurant. Would come here again if I needed something quick and I was around the area!
Got the chimichanga (chicken) dinner. Quite good. The chicken was flavorful and tender. I probably should have dined in because by the time I got home, the chimichanga was not crispy. That's ok since I still enjoyed the meal. Service was very friendly and prompt. No issues on parking since LBJ is located in a pretty decent sized shopping center.
Yes, it's authentic. Any Mexican restaurant, even a chain one, in So Cal is authentic Mexican food. Is this a good Mexican food? That depends on what you are looking for. My chief critic note about this chain is that the food isn't spicy. I had the chicken burrito which apparently tasted like it was boiled. In other words, the shredded chicken needed a lot more kick. I remediated to adding salsa to the burrito. The portions are huge that even the smaller size Jr was a challenge to finish. Casual dining in strip mall. Service was adequate. All in all, it's an ok place.
On any given Tuesday, you might find us here! This restaurant is located in a shopping center near Providence Little Company Of Mary Hospital & Amazon Fresh. There are a number of restaurants and stores in this plaza, including the new(ish) Amazon Fresh. Parking is tight, but there's plenty of spaces if you're willing to walk a little further. Free parking! We've been coming to LBJ for many years. They have multiple locations! In all honesty, it wasn't our favorite Mexican joint for the longest time. It has grown on us and now I even suggest coming here instead of going to other places! We are here mainly for Taco Tuesday! We share a side of Refried Beans with Cheese melted over the top ... it's so good! Each of us order just one taco and we're good! I get either the Al Pastor or Carnitas and hubby opts for the Ground Beef. The Big Tacos/Hard Shell are normally $4.25, I think. On Taco Tuesday, they are $2.99. Soft Tacos cost a little more. They are big, filling, and one is enough! We also order an Horchata. So, for $17.34 + tip, we have dinner for two! When we don't come on a Tuesday, we have tried: Burritos, Tacos, Tamales, Chile Relleno, #12 Carnitas, Rice, Beans & Tortillas #13 Carne Asada, Rice, Beans & Tortillas #19 Beef Taco, Chile Relleno & Beans #22 Chile Verde Platter, Rice, Beans, & Tortillas We love their salsa! Sometimes it has a nice little kick to it! If you like Habanero Salsa, they have a green one you can order for a fee. It cost $4 when we got it in May of 2024 ... that's a little pricey! We just bring our own Hot Sauce and add some to their complimentary red salsa. They serve tostadas as chips. I've noticed that the initial batch of "chips" they bring when you are seated aren't quite the same as the ones they bring later on when we ask for more. I prefer the latter ones, they seem fresher and are warmer. They have a big menu, but it is broken down into manageable sections. They are open for breakfast. See ya on Tuesday!
The service on a Sunday in the early evening was fast and pleasant. The host and the waitress were ever helpful and attentive. The food looks great, however the ground beef in the tacos and the California burrito needs more flavor. The meat was very bland. However, their sauces and salsa are delicious and helped give the ground beef more flavor. The portions are very generous and the basket of chips is made up of whole fried tortillas which is a unique and fun spin on chips and salsa. I will go back and try a different dish with a different type of meat in hopes that it has more flavor.
My family had EBJ on the Sunday lunch rotation for years, and then our kids grew up and developed lives of their own! Our first time back in a couple of years, actually, and the Hawthorne Blvd. location is as welcoming and solid as ever. The food was as delicious as we've always remembered it, served with love and a friendly smile by Isabel, our favorite server! It's good to know that even though our lives may change, this spot is a constant we can always count on! This place is clearly a local favorite...whether taking out or dining in, you can't go wrong with EBJ!

This location's ambience is filled with interesting things to look at as you either dine in or wait for your reference go order. I felt like I was in my abuela's kitchen. I loved it. The customer service is friendly, hospitable, and you can tell that the staff really cares about the customer's experience. I ordered a breakfast burrito ans it was packed with flavor. Super delicious and the salsa they give you is a must use, it elevates the flavor even more. Yum! #LAEats #ElBurritoJr
This is the second time in a row they got my expensive food wrong. Not only i ordered 2 chicken JR deluxe but it wasn't chicken & wrong size. I didn't mind paying for the SUPER size but it wasn't even chicken. When you were craving it and you get the wrong meat in. It's very disappointing and I even tip. If you like surprises in your burrito and pay A LOT of amount for it this is your place to go but not for me, my family and friends. Go to the one on PCH!

Today I had the two tacos with shredded beef combo which was very tasty and served at the temperature. Much appreciated and no complaints from me.
I'm saddened by the low-star reviews. We had a really great experience with delicious food & great service. I had the Camarones Rancheros (this one is served with no sauce, just sauteed bell peppers + onions + tomatoes), the Caldo de Pollo (DEELICIOUS, OMG). my friend had a couple HUGE hard-shelled tacos & my hubby had their soft tacos. everything was great & their chips n' salsa were delicious. service was excellent. the only downside was the exhaust fan in the women's restroom wasn't working. it kinda smelled like someone died in there. maybe please fix the fan. read more

abdolutely gross and disgusting. i ordered the taco and enchiladas combo and under the cheese of the enchiladas on the tortillas was mold. i ate almost all of it before i saw the mold. do not eat here. theres no way they didnt know what they were serving. beware. read more

Consistently disappointed by the customer service of this location. I called them at 7:08pm tonight to place a phone order and the man answering said they close in 10 minutes due to the holiday. I asked him to clarify that he meant that they're closing at 7:20? When their hours clearly say 9pm... and I understand if you're closing early, but 7:20? He said "The only reason I answered is because I didn't want you to keep calling and calling" (Mind you I only called once.) Half the time the team doesn't answer the phone. Management needs to get this together. read more

Everyone was so nice and helped me out with ordering, inside the restaurant everyone was happy and saying good morning to each other! El Burrito Jr. is a small chain. This is our first time going and we won't be back, but if you are somewhat in a hurry and want fast typical Mexican food they have that. Parking is easy in the large lot they are in, sort of hidden in a corner, but you will see the sign. The place is pretty clean. The service is no more than average. We went in and there was no one to seat us, someone finally said to sit where we wanted. We had a booth and it was clean and comfortable. They brought chips which were stale and they were really just whole fried corn chips, likely out of a bag. We did not eat them and my grandson loves chips. We ordered and told the server we had a concert to get to so we could order now. She said she would be right back, but we had to flag her down. We ordered and the food was nothing more than average. The soft meat taco was fine. The beans with cheese was very good. The rice was dry and no one ate it. The cheese enchiladas were fine, something you might get in the frozen food section of any market. The food was brought hot. There was nothing at all great about any of it. The prices are a tad high for what you get. The guacamole, by the way was tasty, but the portion was small. We asked for a check a few times and finally had to get up and go to the cashier for our server to notice us. She never checked on us once. They do take out and delivery. read more

The good: We got seated right away and had a spacious table. I tried the burrito deluxe and #14 (carne asada, guacamole, red rice, Pico de gallo, tortilla). The tortilla came nice and hot. We got free refills if the chips and salsa. The Jamaica was sweet and tasty. I liked the authentic Mexican feel inside with decorative items like sombreros, wooden donkey statue, clay vases and the Mexican flag. The meat in the burrito was very tender. It was a wet style burrito which made the burrito really easy to eat with just a fork and no knife (much like an enchilada). The bad: There's no outdoor seating that I saw. The servers forgot to give us menus, utensils and napkins. It took awhile for our credit card to be picked up. There's no baby changing table. I would've liked for the salsa to be spicier and for there to be more elements of acid in the food (pickled peppers, lime, or heat). The interesting: The tortilla chips in the free appetizer were like tostadas rather than smaller triangular chips. The second batch we got were slightly warm while the first was room temperature. I've come here on numerous occasions. The food is solid and generous in proportion. They have several sit-down tables inside, and I like that the location is close to Little Company of Mary Hospital, easy walking distance. If you are hungry for Mexican food, this place will do the trick. read more

So I normally love El Burrito Jr - their PCH location is amazing and this is their sit down fancier location. I ordered food to go today and it was good EXCEPT it's such a pet peeve of mine when I get a bean and cheese burrito and the cheese isn't melted all the way. Also, I really hate when I get a bean and cheese burrito and there is random stuff in it - like just 1 piece of lettuce, one piece of tomato, etc. Like Obviously something fell into my bean and cheese burrito while they were making it which is just kinda a yucky surprise when you take a bite and taste something random in your food... The other thing I don't like about this location is that they don't have street tacos (you know with the cilantro and onions) - they just have the other tacos with cheese and lettuce and tomatoes which are fine but I prefer street tacos. I think maybe they just had a bad day today so I'm willing to give them another try. I'd give them 1 star today but in the past they were 4 stars so I'm rounding up and we'll see how it is the next time I come back.... read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Food was terrible. Service wasn't great. We got our food to go, we were a mile away and this is the crispy taco we ordered... I also asked if our salsa was in the bag and the lady who helped us said yes ofcourse .... Zero salsa.... read more

I've been coming here for taco Tuesday for quite some time. You can't beat the $10 for 3 tacos and a drink on Tuesday's. However, the other food is what you need to try. The burritos are tasty...I mean it's in its name ha! The chicken fajitas are to die for. I definitely like the carnitas here even though it probably isn't good for your body but screw it. Antonio and the rest of the staff feel like family. If I'm having a party, I'm inviting the entire staff here. read more

Fast service, open kitchen, clean, classic ambiance, large portions, fair pricing. Excellent taco Tuesday specials. Full sized very filling tacos. I've cold drinks. Been to all 3 South Bay locations and can say the same about all. read more
