This is my second time here and definitely did not disappoint! The vibe is super friendly and casual. Perfect for date night, solo dinners, with friends or large parties as they do have bar seating and outdoor. The food is served with a smile and generous portions of the best quality rice and beans along with meat in the tacos. Best taco place here in PA! So great to eat authentic tacos on this side of the peninsula. Their salsa bar is everything and more! I especially love the pickled red onions and green beans. I ordered two taco plate with rice and beans and an extra tipita taco crispy. You know they know what's up when the PASTOR has pineapple. Beans are def fresh homemade and not canned beans. Messed up my simple order from toast. One burrito with two customizations: add guac and no crema. Both didn't happen. I didn't get the guac that I paid for and my burrito contained crema. I am extremely disappointed and will not be back, especially with Chipotle so close. read more

El Taco Loco is on DoorDash, now. Today I tried the Calidog, side of rice and beans, and fried ice cream. The Calidog was good ( I've never met a hot dog I didn't like) but there was nothing really special about it, and the bun was too big for the amount of meat you get. The beans are slightly too salty, but still good, and the rice is delicious. I was worried that the fried ice cream might have coconut on it, so I called the restaurant and asked, and was told that it doesn't. I was a little worried that it might get melted and sloppy before being delivered, but it was perfect. It was absolutely delicious! read more

I've eaten the El Taco loco birratacos a few times now via carry out! I had waited to write a review until I could dine inside the establishment. A festive orange building off of first street with a drive-through order window or dine in options. You order your food at the counter and they bring it to you as it's made to order. They had Horchata, juices, jaritos soda and many authentic Mexican items on the menu. The Dining area has festive music playing, in a very casual table seating area. They also have a tasty salsa bar. You have the option to eat inside or outside on a covered patio w/ picnic tables. Our service was friendly and quick even during a slamming lunch rush, (the word is out on this place.) The staff even came out to ask us how the food was, everyone at our table said their lunch was delicious and are making plans to return. Gracias! read more

A woman in a coffee shack recommended I try the breakfast burrito at El Taco Lock (I was asking around). What a great recommendation. The owner was super nice and welcoming, gave me some recs and told me they made their chorizo in house. We had the bacon breakfast burrito and the chorizo breakfast burrito. And got an assortment of ther fresh salsas. So so so good. They are pricey, but worth it, and can easily be two meals for most people. I ate mine all at once and was full for the rest of the day, wife split hers into two satisfying meals. Loved the salsa verde! Likes it so much we brought our fellow travelers back a couple days later for dinner. An assortment of burritos and tacos, and churros. All fantastic, every single bite was eaten. We had someone with significant food allergies who is usually cautious about eating out due to contamination (Milk and dairy). Because of my positive experience with the owner I felt confident they were a place which could be trusted to do what they say they will do. The man behind the counter assured us that there would be no contamination, and he was correct. Was really nice for my sister to enjoy this amazing food without getting sick. Love this local family owned spot. And it seems like the locals do too, it was hopping for dinner! I want another chorizo burrito right now, especially with that salsa verde. read more

Ok, let's start with the most important...food. I ordered 1 carnitas tacos, they serve it street style with house made fresh tortillas cilantro and onion. The carnitas were simmered in an amazing blend of citrus and spice, with onion and bell pepper as a bonus. Huge portions, one filled me up and even cool (I was driving) it was absolutely delicious. I used drive through, and there was a few minutes to wait, but having tasted the food I will gladly always wait. I lived near L.A. CA and can honestly say this is the best, most authentic Mexican food I have had since moving north. I am already planning my next trip to Port Angeles. As a foodie vegetarian who loves backpacking in the Olympics, I am always searching for good vegetarian options in the Port Angeles area that are a quick and easy dinner after a day in the trail. For some reason, I had overlooked El Taco Loco until I noticed it when driving through town the other day. I was delighted that they have a vegetarian section on their small menu, and even more delighted that they have a chile relleno burrito and then even MORE delighted when I saw how big it was! Then I tried it and fell madly in love -- perfect relleno, perfect flavored rice and beans, perfect mix of cheese and sour cream. I got the spicy salsa to go with it, and it while I do not usually use this word four times one one review, it too was the perfect mix of deep roasted tomato and chile salsa flavor, but the right amount of hot. I got a breakfast burrito, it was fantastic! I asked for my bacon very crispy, it was so busy, but even with all those orders, they got it right. Perfection. They offer breakfast all day. I love Mexican breakfast. They offer a salsa bar with good selection of salsa and condiments; there's something for everyone. We came here for breakfast burritos in the drive thru. We were immediately greeted with kindness and the gentleman (I believe it was the owner) answered our questions regarding what's in some of the burritos. When we got to the window, he asked if we had been there before (we hadn't, we are from Michigan on our way to the airport to go back home today) and it sounded like because it was our first time, he was going to make us the best damn burritos. He was RIGHT. These were hands down the best burritos we have ever had. We are super bummed we don't live around here and will likely not be able to experience this again. Make this part of your stops in Port Angeles! We got the Chorizo breakfast burrito and the Chilaquiles breakfast burrito (with chorizo added).
