I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got around to it last week. It was so good that we had to come back again today! This is definitely going to become a once-a-week stop for us. Hands down, this is the best place in Corona for hard shell tacos, enchiladas, and burritos. So far, that's what we've tried, and every single thing has been amazing. I'm absolutely in love with their hard shell tacos they're perfectly crispy, the meat is flavorful and incredibly moist, and every bite is delicious. My husband is already planning to try the tortas next time. The ambience was such a pleasant surprise. From the outside, you would never expect how beautifully done the inside is. It's warm, inviting, and has so much character. It completely exceeded our expectations. The staff is so friendly and welcoming from the moment you walk in, which makes the experience even better. I love the red sauce they put on them as well as the green sauce they offer on the side and always have to order it with a large Jicama! This is definitely one of my favorite taco places, the meat quality and tortillas are always delicious- unlike other places with dry and low quality meat. It's my first option for taco Tuesday and I recently ventured out and tried their ceviche , I'm glad I did because it was just as great as their tacos!!! Prior to Covid review. 4/5 Excellent customer service and the portions are big and feeling. Depending on the food item that is ordered it can be a bit pricey. I do like there many options on the menu and it caters to people different palettes/ food preferences. They also sell canned soda and authentic Mexican sodas such as Jarritos and Mexican Coke! Growing up with my immediate family, yes I would recommend El Taco Lucas. Post covid- review 3/5 However, I do enjoy my buche tacos. Depending on the type of meat you order the quality has gone down. Always at this place the buche it's too overcooked and it's always like a pinkish color. I wouldn't recommend there artificial "agua frescas " way too processed and sweet. The only flavor that's good is the Horchata. They charge extra for extra salsa per small individual container. The prices overall have gone up. (Tariffs and inflation). The cashier attitude depends who it is and can be in a really good customer service skills. However, sometimes if they are too overwhelmed or understaffed the cashier mood changes. They can be short and impatient with their customers. At other Mexican food places I've had and tasted way better quality of the buche (pork stomach) meet. It's looks more natural and authentic at other Mexican food restaurants. read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant as I am assured a great meal each time. The owner can be found behind the counter personally serving you during the day, as she has been doing for the past 35+ years. Authentic -- with flavorful entrees no matter what you order. In the most recent visit, I had the wet, all-meat burrito with half red sauce and half green. Highly recommended. read more

On sat 8/24 we placed a phone order for two orders of menudo and one breakfast plate The breakfast plate was good. Our son loved it. Good size portion. The menudo was the worst menudo we've ever eaten. It smelled foul as soon as we took the tops off to serve into a bowl. The broth was disgusting and the meat was foul. It's a shame because we like supporting small local businesses. We will continue to purchase our menudo at Ochoa's Carniceria on Smith and 6th st. read more

This place is Pretty good.. I like the new Dining room area.. the salsa is really good.. Wish they had chips. I ordered a bean and cheese burritos and is was delicious. You order at counter and then they call you "by plate name" one at a time.. So we kept walking back and fourth to get food and everyone eating (while hot) before everyone can sit. This place has been on my list to try for a long time. All of their advertising videos make the food look so yummy! Unfortunately, we were left very disappointed. The burritos are super greasy and falling apart. The carne asada has lots of gristle in it; I had to spit it out. My son's taco had a wooden stick in it! He spit it out, it was pretty long, resembled a thick toothpick. We won't be back. read more

My husband and I are Asians but we've had a fair share of tacos all over OC and LA, so I think we're allowed to give a review :) My hubby loves their tripa and carne asada tacos. He says that their tripa is crispy and he loves the flavor of their asada and salsa. If there's one thing he would change, is that he wishes they made the corn tortillas fresh but he still would rather choose this place than the street vendors. I always get their chicken enchilada and chili relleno combination and I love it! Their chicken is juicy because they use dark meat and it even has chunks of tomato! They serve their food on a paper plate and you have to pick it up yourself but that's okey with me because it means I don't have to tip and save money! Excellent food and service. We had not visited this place in a while, for no reason. The beans and rice were excellent, and very flavorful. The sopes were on fire! Loaded with deliciousness is the only way I can describe them. The chile relleno's we're on point and amazing. Portion sizes for the combo plates were generous. This morning I went to go get a breakfast burrito at 9 AM when they opened and the cook told me he needed 10 more minutes and they would be ready to go so I waited and by the time I went in to order it seems like it was the owner a woman and she was so rude like I've never experienced at any restaurant ever before in my life!
