First time to this location, usually order carnitas, pastor or fajita but wanted to try something new so I order 1 carnitas, 1 barbacoa and 1 revulta or mixed. The carnitas was good as usual but the revulta was way too salty for my taste and had some really crunchy and hard to chew pieces of meat. The barbacoa was just OK, kinda fatty, won't order again. I also don't remember the green sauce being so salty, maybe because I've become accustomed to the green sauce at places like pollo rico and taco deli which is quite velvety and spicy. I've been to the tacorrido on 1st street a couple times in the past and it's been good, maybe quality has started to slide since. Next time I'll stick to the usual tacos and order a different type of salsa. read more

Counter service with additional drive thru mexican street tacos. The menu is simple, tortilla-meat-veggies arrange in either taco, torta, gordita or quesadilla. They have 2 traditional soups- Menudo or Posole, nibbling appetizers, cater to vegetarians, have breakfast options and beverages for no matter what time of day or mood you are in coffees/ alcoholic or non alcoholic. To top it off they have 2 options for the sweet tooth's- ice cream sandwich or banana bread. I really admire much about the design choices of bright modern mexican colors and geometric tiling, the predominantly Spanish menu with English subtitles, the stool seating in the dine in area or the convenience of drive thru or to go. This type of dinning experience is much like the classic food truck experience but set in brick and mortar. No fluff or extra- just classic food in a more modern atmosphere. read more

I'm going to keep this simple because that's what my experience was. I had a quick to go order from inside the restaurant. The cashier was very kind and courteous. I ordered a Carne Guisada taco on flour tortilla. The flavor was good but here were the negatives. Not enough meat in the serving, too much fatty gristle and way too much cilantro. Now then, I'm keeping an open mind and will try this restaurant again because I've seen the reviews and have been following the growth of the company. That is all for now. read more

I wanted so badly for this to be a place deserving of raving reviews. I love tacos. I really really love tacos. But, alas, these were just bland and boring. Don't get me wrong -- I understand that these tacos aren't meant to be gourmet-style tacos like the competition up and down Burnet Lane. They're more like simple street tacos with cilantro, onions and meat. Which is why the meat needs to shine! The bistec was comprised of chewy chunks of gristly beef that seemed nothing like fajita meat, as described on the menu. The carnitas tacos were dry and flavorless, as were the barbacoa tacos. They were all edible once we added salt and salsa but just not what we had been salivating for. On the positive side, the potato, egg and cheese breakfast taco was solid, as was the cheese quesadilla. But those are both pretty hard to mess up. And the chips are fantastic -- thick and freshly fried. Unfortunately their standard roja salsa is bland. The verde was much better. The star of our meal? The refried pinto beans on my daughter's taco! I suggest taking a lesson from the bean chef and let him/her take over the seasoning of all the other food on the menu. So happy they finally opened one in the neighborhood. I'm addicted to their Equinox and their breakfast tacos. They are a little overpriced but well so is every other taco place in Austin. I really wanted to like this place. I've been to their food trailer on N. Lamar many times. While the new brick & mortar location is good, it's not great. I ordered 3 tacos on my visit; 2 al pastor and 1 barbacoa. The al pastor was a little dry and had too much pineapple. The barbacoa was tender, but it had too much of a gamey taste. On the plus side, their salsas are great and the prices are very reasonable. A-OK is pretty accurate from my perspective, but nothing more. read more

I got a Gordita with carnitas. It was a huge amount of food for me. The meat was bland, but that's good for the masses. They have different salsas to add which are tasty. I thought my food and my horchata with espresso was great. It was also cheap compared to the popular taco place a couple of blocks south. The staff were nice. It was clean and efficient. Outstanding! Micheladas and white sangrias started off our first trip here (best michelada in Austin!) The menu is clean, precise, excellent selection, vegetarian choices. The only way to make El Tacorridos tacos taste good is to put something so spicy on them that you can't taste them anymore. I've had gas station tacos better than this. We got breakfast tacos. The eggs were fried. The potatoes were undercooked. They only give one a salsa for every two tacos. The salsas aren't even good. This place is overpriceed tex mex trash. Just go to Granny's or like a gas station or literally anywhere else. The only redeeming quality was the friendly worker who took our order. Let me just say, the posole is the real deal. There are ample portions of tender, juicy pork roast, and just the right amount of hominy. All of the salsas are spot-on, and the corn tortillas, (because what else is there?) are soft but not mushy. We ate like kings and had a beer for under $30.00, we will be back. read more

I must admit, I was a Torchy's guy, that is until I stumbled upon El Tacorrido in Burnet. They are by far the best breakfast tacos around, and they are very inexpensive ... $5 for 2 bacon, egg, cheese and potato. The variety of tacos and other favorites are all made fresh to order. The staff is extremely friendly, the dining area is spacious and very clean. I am fortunate that I live right around the corner! Keep up the good work! read more

Good tacos small dining room, the ceviche was delicious I just wished they offered it in a bigger size. Not too sure why this is listed as kid friendly, went with my 2 year old & 1 month old which was very tricky. They had no high chairs or booster seats & the tables had high stools which was difficult to balance the car seat on. Not a bad experience just a little difficult. I do want to go back but I will either do drive thru or go without my kids next time. read more

I've been super excited for tacorrido to come to this side of town. And they finally got queso, so I am revising my review to 5 stars. I love this place. It's fast and the staff is friendly. I do wish they'd ditch the TVs, the space is so nice, but the tvs ruin the vibe. Pro tip: if you're coming from the north turn into the papa johns parking lot and come around from behind, otherwise you'll have to pass it and navigate a tricky 5 way intersection on Burnet and North loop. read more

Just moved to this area of town and I'm very excited this place is right around the corner! I had their breakfast tacos a couple days ago and tonight I had their al pastor, bistec, and carne guisada tacos and it was all sooo good. Chips and salsa were great. I learned of this place recently and wish I did sooner. Great tacos without all the extra nonsense ingredients - just solid all around.
