We just love El Tarasco. It is now a small chain and some are better than others. We love this one. Their food is great traditional Mexican food at at fair prices. The place is always clean and very comfortable. You can eat there or get it to go. We like eating there. The service is just the best. Parking is free. All of their food is great. We love the tacos, the soft tacos give so much meat and their burritos are just stuffed with meat. We also love their guacamole and chips. They have great salsas and they have bottled drinks. Everyone there seems happy and it is just a nice place to eat. They also have great beans and rice. There is just nothing you won't like there. They have a great selection. The wait staff was inattentive. I stood by counter for at least ten minutes and they'd jus say wait a minute and help A table or the two other women standing next to me who were asking about EVERY meal on the menu. I had a quick question. I also patron the el tarasco in el Segundo where I'm not racially profiled. Clearly they didn't like me there. I was the only Caucasian, which shouldn't matter. El Tarasco can always satisfy a burrito craving. Whether it is a breakfast burrito or a California steak burrito they always hit. I also love the big chips and salsa that come with the burrito. I make sure to ask for extra salsa so you have enough for the burrito and chips. This time the breakfast burrito seemed to be a bit smaller than usual and wasn't as filled as the burritos usually are. I love that they opened this location on the west side. Service is always friendly and it's a great place to take out food. I like to bring the burritos to the beach and enjoy them there. This review is about the service. I've rarely ever experienced such rude service. After I asked for a slight accommodation to my order, barely a minute after I had placed it, the man taking orders refused and then almost became belligerent in his refusal. I've usually gone out of my way to this location since they have better specials, but I'll never come back to this one again. I'm one of those people that will stick my head in a dozen restaurants, Reading menus, deciding what I want to eat. I stumbled onto El Tarasco purely by chance, and saw chilaquiles on the menu. I love chilaquiles! The restaurant is long and narrow, clean, quiet, plenty of tables, but with a decidedly local vibe. Service was immediate and friendly. The chips were fresh and warm, and the salsa was really excellent. By the end of the meal, I had sweat running off me. The chilaquiles came on a hot earthen platter, easily enough food to share. The portion was very large. I added asada for $3, and was very pleasantly surprised how much asada they piled on. The meat was tender and tasty, eggs were fresh and perfectly cooked, rice and beans were tasty. Coffee was fresh and excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this meal, and I will definitely return to El Tarasco. If you haven't eaten here, I highly recommend you give it a try. read more

Our favorite of all the El Tarasco locations! Love the others, too, but we feel somehow the sauce here is deliciously different - 10+ every time. Just tried the chicken tostada and it was good, the chili relleno, too, but getting our favorite enchiladas is our best. I only recently started going to this Westchester location again and had late lunch there today at 4:00 when it wasn't very busy. The short, corpulent server took my order and that was pretty much the last I saw of him. One of his co-workers delivered my chicken enchilada plate while the original server was eating a meal. He never checked back to see if I needed anything else and I had to flag down his co-worker for a soda refill and the check. The check was $12.50 plus tax and when it came, it clearly stated $13.72 for charge card or $13.21 for cash. When I paid, I gave that orginal server three $5 bills but he gave me change on the $13.72 amount. I told him that he overcharged me and that it should be change on the $13.21 amount since I gave him cash not 2 minutes earlier. He kept insisting that the charge was $13.72 since that was the amount he erroneously entered on the cash register and if it accurate then the change would have been correct but he would not check again on the printed bill showing a cash price. The 51 cents difference would be his only tip for the next-to-no service he provided and because he was not only wrong about the bill amount but belligerent about it as well. Because of this jackass server, I'm never eating at this location again. read more

Folded into a boxcar length location bordered by Sepulveda and a maze-like, mostly-forgotten under-construction corner of a parking lot complete with One Way Lanes...it's easy to not find this place. One couple recently mapped it, set out to visit it and were lost for days, finding themselves almost not found. It wasn't until someone that wasn't looking for them found them. El Tarasco is like that...a Bermuda Triangle of food locations. All that to say, IF you find it, you will enjoy their food. It's quick, easy and good. I have been coming to El Tarasco for a couple of years for breakfast and it never disappoints. Usually I get the breakfast burrito, but today I was craving chilaquiles. It was so delicious! My friend and I cleaned our plates! I added a scoop of guacamole for $1.50. Their red salsa is so delicious, I could fill up on just that with their fresh chips. Ever since management changed, i've only ever received Half-Assed burritos that are floppy and small. I hate to say it but it ruined the burrito for me. I used to eat a whole burrito and be full. Now i still feel hungry after eating one. I have mentioned multiple times to the staff to make my burrito nice and full, and every time i do so they dont listen. Im very disappointed in El Tarasco. I havent ordered here in over a year, and today i felt like why not give it a try. To my surprise they are still serving bullshit burritos. Have eaten here many times in the past but today was such an awful experience I don't think I will ever go back. I was with my mom, baby and toddler and we called in our order while we were leaving the park and we were told it would take 16 minutes. I got there a couple minutes early and paid. Not the best ever, but always hits the spot and open late! Ordered delivery from here and enjoyed all items, some items I knew wouldn't travel well but a craving is a craving. Really enjoyed the carne asada burrito covered in red sauce, and the taquitos were solid.
