First of all, this review is way way overdue. The Ontario location was long our go to spot, but after moving to the area, we were pleasantly surprised to find one nearby in Corona. What makes this place special is that there are shorter wait times and less crowds, and the Sunday buffet is kept stocked and freshly refilled. For us, the added bonus is the friendly and amazing service from our favorite bartender, Sofia! She is great! We honestly look forward to seeing her just as much as enjoying the food and drink. We're regular El Torito brunch guests, so this visit was disappointing. There was a 25-minute wait despite several open tables when we arrived. The omelet station was unattended for a period of time, and the waffle syrups were nearly empty. Overall, the food quality did not match what we've experienced at other locations. Our server was really friendly but not very attentive, and we had to flag her down when we needed assistance. It also appeared the staff member bussing and maintaining multiple areas was overwhelmed. At $39.50 per person, we expected a more organized and attentive experience. We're hoping this was just an off day. read more

Each time we come Laura is our waitress.. and I absolutely love her, her service, her smile, and no matter how much time has passed she remembers what we both like to drink.. Sunday brunch! Such a good Mexican buffet. Fresh tortillas being made right in front of you, amazing taco meats, and everything tasted so fresh. We came here for Sunday dinner with my significant other. The service was extremely slow. The food was actually good once it finally came out, but getting it to the table took way longer than it should have. It honestly looks like they're understaffed. Everyone seemed like they were trying, but this is the second time we've come and it felt the exact same both visits. The place was only about a quarter full, so that made it even more surprising. Overall, the food was good, but the experience didn't really match the expectation. It felt pretty mid for what it's supposed to be. If you're just stopping in for drinks during happy hour it might be fine. But if you're actually hungry and planning to sit down for a meal, you might want to reconsider. Came in for Taco Tuesday which starts at 4pm. We sat in the bar section and it promptly got busy. There was one bartender who also went around taking orders, one person taking care of the taco section including making the corn tortillas, and a server that was taking care of the whole restaurant. It looked stressful but they did an amazing job and then I saw more staff come in around 5pm. I had the carnitas and al pastor tacos and they also had beans and their famous corn cakes. I highly recommend this place for Taco Tuesday but unless you get there at 4pm, you might have a little bit of a wait. read more

My guest and I had an incredibly bizarre, unsanitary, and uncomfortable experience at this location. We walked in for a meal, and right from the start, the service was terrible. The table in front of us had a spill, and the server cleaned it up but completely failed to wash his hands afterward. He went straight back to handling things without any regard for basic hygiene. Despite there being two of us, he only handed us one menu. He dropped off the complimentary chips and salsa but completely ignored us after that and never took our order. Since we were being ignored and the hygiene was disgusting, we decided to get up and leave. That is when it got weird. The server literally ran out of the building and chased us into the parking lot. He couldn't be bothered to practice basic cleanliness or offer hospitality while we were inside, but he had the energy to pursue us outside. We felt completely harassed and uncomfortable. Avoid this location. Management seriously needs to retrain their staff on basic customer service, boundaries, and health department codes. read more

While on a trip to Corona CA I decided to go to the El Torito Restaurant in town, with some family members. We got there kind of late maybe 40 mins before closing. We were tired and hungry after a long day. To our surprise we had the kindest nicest server, her name was Ana, she went completely out of her way to make us feel welcome, suggest some items when we weren't sure about something on the menu and never made us feel rushed. She was so kind and friendly that we all started talked to each other about how fortunate we were to have such a gracious server. When it was time for dessert we each wanted to get something but it was getting close to closing time so we thought we should skip it. Ana said it was no problem at all and soon she brought us all our desserts. She had a way about her where she makes you feel like you were visiting a dear friend that was excited to see you and wanted to make you a delicious meal. We were so impressed with Ana that we asked to talk to her manager Daniel, to let him know how well we were treated. He was also very nice and chatted with us for a while. I have two El Torito restaurants near where I live. This was my first time being in Corona CA and all I can say is that we all agreed that this was a very special experience. VERY disappointing two hour experience. Very slow from chips/salsa/water delivery (25 minutes) to margaritas to food. One server/bartender who was genuinely trying to provide good service and apologetic about the delays. Food was disappointing. Flavor okay. Very sad looking presentation. Ignited Fajitas Supremas were not served sizzling (in fact, barely warm), no guacamole, small amount of veggies and 4 small slices of steak for $32. Looked nothing like the menu picture and took over an hour to get to the table. The restaurant also adds a 5% surcharge to the bill.
