Sunday brunch! Such a good Mexican buffet. Fresh tortillas being made right in front of you, amazing taco meats, and everything tasted so fresh. The waffles and churros were hot and delicious, and the mimosas kept coming with a carafe of juice. Service was so attentive and the restaurant is beautiful! Great price, great food, great vibes! Definitely coming back!

We're regular El Torito brunch guests, so this visit was disappointing. There was a 25-minute wait despite several open tables when we arrived. The omelet station was unattended for a period of time, and the waffle syrups were nearly empty. Overall, the food quality did not match what we've experienced at other locations. Our server was really friendly but not very attentive, and we had to flag her down when we needed assistance. It also appeared the staff member bussing and maintaining multiple areas was overwhelmed. At $39.50 per person, we expected a more organized and attentive experience. We're hoping this was just an off day.

Berenice was such a great waitress! She's attentive and checked on our table multiple times! The decor is super nice & the food is really good. A lot of selections. 10/10

Not bad... Also, nothing mind-blowing. The food was very mediocre and bland. I remember El Torito being great in the past. It's definitely changed. The food was bland, and the beans were overly salty. The beans were gross lol The enchiladas were alright. Nothing to rave about though, sadly. I got the cheese enchiladas, and my husband got the shrimp enchiladas. The enchiladas were bland. The rice was maybe from the day before. Not fresh by any means. The service was good. They were friendly and very sweet. Our waiter went out of his way to surprise my friend with a dessert for her birthday. That was very kind. My friend loved it! We sang happy birthday to her. It was a good time. Service was 10/10 I just wish the food was better. I used to love El Torito. It could have been an off day for the rice and beans, and the enchiladas lol

Got chilaquiles and the mangonada margarita. Waiters were nice but didn't check in as regularly as I'd hope. The chilaquiles were disappointing, very salty. My friend got the pancakes and really enjoyed it. The mangonada margarita was also very yummy. Ambiance and music were good. I'd go back for drinks but not food

Can you say "THE BEST MOTHERS DAY BRUNCH!!" because that's exactly what this is. El Torito is always doing their thing for brunch and they went above and beyond for Mother's Day! Delicious food, drinks, and even better service! Javier, the manager always is so attentive making sure we're well taken care of!

Taco Tuesday
Gladys P.

Came in for Taco Tuesday which starts at 4pm. We sat in the bar section and it promptly got busy. There was one bartender who also went around taking orders, one person taking care of the taco section including making the corn tortillas, and a server that was taking care of the whole restaurant. It looked stressful but they did an amazing job and then I saw more staff come in around 5pm. I had the carnitas and al pastor tacos and they also had beans and their famous corn cakes. I highly recommend this place for Taco Tuesday but unless you get there at 4pm, you might have a little bit of a wait.

We were charged $13.75 for each Cadillac Margarita x 3
Andi C.

Sadly, we were overcharged for the Cadillac Margaritas. There is a huge sign out front for the Mother's Day brunch. On the bottom line you can see $5 Bloody Mary's and $5 Cadillac Margaritas. We will be back to be reimbursed. The restaurant was crazy busy when we left and didn't want to cause a scene.

Oh boy was this place freakin' great! Ambience: This place…read morewas small but mighty. Super-clean all the way down to the toilet. Very nicely decorated with a great outdoor patio. Wait Staff: I wish I took the name of our waitress because she was awesome, funny and knowledgeable about the menu. All waiters/waitresses were great. Drinks: Unfortunately I didn't get any drinks because we kept seeing the brightly colored drinks and flights being served around us and I was jealous, they all looked awesome. Food: This is where it gets good because the food was A+++mazing. We started off with just the salsa, chips and for a nice surprise, some warm beans. The salsa brought a tear to my eye because it was soooo good. Luckily, my son doesn't eat salsa so I drank it all down. The chips were perfectly fresh and crispy. Guac: So, our waitress brought us some off the menu guac, and, WTF, why are they hiding this recipe from the rest of the world. I literally got into a fist fight with my son because he was trying to take it from me (not really) but I didn't want to share. The presentation was so cute too. Plantains + chips + guac = heavan Fajitas: I ordered fajitas and all boxes were checked, quantity, quality, and taste. I ordered the chicken and it was juicy and thick and perfectly seasoned. Steak tacos: My kid ordered the steak tacos and we brokered a deal to trade some steak for chicken and this was the best deal made since the New Deal (American history). Steak was chunky and juicy and fresh! The only problem with this place is that it is very far from my house as I was in the 'hood for my kids basketball tournament. If I am in the area you better believe that I will be back. Oh yeah, and very affordable for the upscale dining.

The bartender took our drink order, and we received chips and salsa, which were very good. However, the bartender seemed a bit distracted, forgot about us, even though it wasn't a busy night. We decided to give it another chance since so many people seem to enjoy this place. We visited again, and we ordered a few drinks, received chips and salsa, then placed our food order. We waited for a bit and ordered a few more drinks. Unfortunately, after waiting about an hour, we never received our meal or any update on its status. We eventually decided to close out our bill. At that point, we noticed we had been charged for the meal we never received, as well as drinks that were not served. When we brought this to the bartender's attention, they raised their voice and told us we were wrong, which caught us by surprise. I understand that things can get busy, but a lack of communication and being spoken to disrespectfully is unacceptable. A simple check-in or update would have made a big difference. Based on this experience, we're unlikely to return. We really wanted this to work, but maybe you had to be regular customer to get better service?! We tried, but this place is a solid No for us.

It's always clean and well taken care of inside as well. Let's get to the food. My favorite here is the Al pastor. Seasoned and marinated to perfection. It's by far some of the best I've had in Cali. Never under or overcooked. It's just right! Asada. Again, marinated to perfection. Perfectly cooked. Never over cooked. The flavor is there. They've got a great salsa bar. Onion & cilantro Red and green salsa ( red is the best here ) Plenty of lemons They've even got grilled onions and jalapeños at the salsa bar. Overall would I recommend this place? Absolutely. The food and staff is great here. Th quality is excellent! Give it a try and you won't be disappointed. At least not with the asada or pastor. I have not tried the other things on the menu.

I ordered in advance and went to pick up my food, but since I was starving, I ended up just eating there on their patio. The tacos were okay. Personally, I thought they were pretty mid and not as flavorful as I was hoping they'd be. They did have a spicy sauce that I dipped the tacos in, and that definitely helped the flavor. I personally didn't love the tacos, but to be fair, I also didn't try anything else on the menu so I can't speak for the rest of their food. The place itself is a decent size, and the patio area is actually pretty nice. The staff was very kind, my order was ready right on time, and I appreciated that they weren't stingy with the sauces. Overall not a bad spot, but the quesabirria tacos just didn't fully hit for me. Oh well *shrug*

The chips are fresh, super thin and crisp, lightly salted. The salsa one of my favorites. I don't know why others cannot make them the same. I can see a plate of impeccable nachos in my future here. Camarones, Mojo de Ajo style, no head, no shell. The shrimp were nice sized, but obviously overcooked. Mr B said that a couple even tasted old as well. Too bad. On the other hand, the sides, beans and rice, were sensational. Done beautifully, with very rich flavors, I would come here just for those two items. My garlic shrimp burrito was filled with smaller sized shrimp than his, their awesome rice, some fresh salsa, and a pink dressing (?). The shrimp tasted fine, not overcooked, but not overly garlicky. And usually I dislike rice in my burritos, but this combination was an exception, a real winner. I recall having an amazing carnitas here on past visits that I really must revisit. Hmmm. This is beginning to sound like a carnitas nacho plate would be the right thing to do. The interior is very attractive with their colorful and vibrant murals. Great World Cup soccer playing on their TV. The server was absolutely attentive. A good little place worth s return visit.

Check my picture for the information. I ended up getting the 3 taco plate (2 asada and 1 carnitas) and the XL meat quesadilla with asada. The carnitas was really tender and delicious. The asada was good, but it was not my favorite. I have a thing with chewy fatty pieces and I understand it is common in lower quality cuts of flap meat. This asada had quite a few pieces I had to spit out because it was just too chewy. The refried beans were good, also not my favorite though. The quesadilla was good, I liked the grilled cheese cooked prior to folding it into the tortilla with the meat. Nice touch. That grilled cheese makes a huge difference. The next 3 taco plate had pastor, asada, and shrimp (except they actually gave me fish instead). At least my girlfriend enjoyed the fish taco as well. The tacos were loaded with meat and hard to pick up. That's the best! The pastor was tender and juicy. The fish taco was freshly fried and loaded with toppings and sauce. After paying, I asked for salsa and onions/cilantro cups so I could grab it from the salsa bar before leaving, but the lady turned around and grabbed me prepackaged salsa of each kind, bagged onion and cilantro, and limes. Super nice! Salsa were all really good! Especially the green avocado salsa. I'll come back for carnitas when I'm in the mood for tacos/quesadillas. I'll probably avoid the asada though. Just not my favorite.
