The quesadilla was good, I liked the grilled cheese cooked prior to folding it into the tortilla with the meat. Nice touch. That grilled cheese makes a huge difference. The next 3 taco plate had pastor, asada, and shrimp (except they actually gave me fish instead). At least my girlfriend enjoyed the fish taco as well. The tacos were loaded with meat and hard to pick up. That's the best! The pastor was tender and juicy. The fish taco was freshly fried and loaded with toppings and sauce. After paying, I asked for salsa and onions/cilantro cups so I could grab it from the salsa bar before leaving, but the lady turned around and grabbed me prepackaged salsa of each kind, bagged onion and cilantro, and limes. I visited this restaurant on April 10, 2026, around 5:30 PM, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing due to what appeared to be significant staffing shortages and poor management. From the moment I arrived, there was a long line of people waiting to be seated, yet there was no hostess at the front desk to manage the flow. It created confusion and frustration right away, and set the tone for the rest of the visit. Once inside, it was clear the staff was overwhelmed. There were long wait times just to be acknowledged, and service remained slow throughout the entire meal. Employees seemed stressed and overextended--not due to lack of effort, but because there simply weren't enough people working or proper direction from management. Orders took an unusually long time to arrive, and there were noticeable issues with coordination with part of my order left out. When the food finally came out, it was extremely salty, especially the chicken tortilla soup, which made it difficult to enjoy and added to the overall disappointment. The atmosphere felt chaotic rather than welcoming, and the entire experience reflected a lack of proper planning and oversight. Management needs to ensure there is an adequate number of staff scheduled, especially during busy hours, and improve organization to avoid situations like this. Not busy in Tuesday 2/9. I went with a group of friends. Just a party of 8. Got seated at a booth (tight fit). Asked to be seated somewhere else. They were moving us to the bar, and each of us would have our own chair but the table was too small! The booth table was longer. They did add one more table so we would have more space. Only part of our group got a chance to look at the menu (since they were seated first ). Our waitress took a long while to come take our order and we inform that we will order our drinks but we need menus brought to part of the group. They did eventually bring them and we placed our order. 2 of us ordered the same entree (1800 flaming fajitas, which were delicious ) but one was ordered with flour tortillas and one with corn tortillas. They only brought corn tortillas for both. We ask the waitress to exchange the tortillas... that didn't happen. Did our waitress even check on us after that, no. The meal was finished and the flour tortillas never made it to our table. I'm not usually one to complain so we left it at that. Were they short staffed that night? We had a fantastic Sunday brunch at El Torito, and a huge part of what made it so enjoyable was our amazing server, Alondra! From the moment we sat down, she was incredibly hospitable wearing a warm and bright smile, great energy, and she made us feel right at home. Her communication was spot on; she explained options clearly, answered questions cheerfully, and just had this positive, upbeat personality that brightened the whole experience. She was attentive without ever hovering. Always checking in at just the right times, proactively refilling our drinks (bottomless mimosas stayed full without us even asking!), bringing fresh napkins when needed, and quickly clearing away empty plates to keep the table clean and comfortable. Been eating at this El Torito for about 1 year now, food is great new bar tender Jaylyn is great, she just got hired on in December 2025. Has a great friendly personality for this type of restaurant. I've notice Jaylyn is a very hard worker in the short time I've known her. More customer service businesses need great out going workers with great work ethics like Jaylyn. I'm pretty sure if she leaves, I'll probably stop coming to this particular restaurant. I'm retired and eat out everyday. We all work hard for our earnings no matter what field we're in. I recently visited El Torito Mexican Cuisine and was blown away by the delicious food and friendly atmosphere. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and promptly seated at a cozy booth. The menu had a great variety of traditional Mexican dishes, from tacos and burritos to enchiladas and fajitas. I made a reservation a month in advance for Mother's Day brunch at 10:30 AM. I arrived at 10:20 AM to check in, but after waiting around, I hadn't received any text updates. By 10:40 AM, I followed up with the front reception and was told our table had been given away to someone else. After speaking with the manager, we were finally seated at 11:10 AM. The biggest issue here was that I had 8 kids with me, and the extended wait made the experience pretty frustrating. Once we were seated, I went to get some food, but the brunch area was messy, and many of the food trays were empty. It took a while for them to replenish the items, which added to the disappointment. However, once the food was restocked and everyone settled in, the rest of the brunch experience was fine. While I understand busy days like Mother's Day can be chaotic, the waiting and lack of communication could definitely be improved. If it weren't for the frustrating wait, I would've rated it higher. read more

Had our first Thanksgiving Dinner ever at a restaurant last night and I cannot tell you what a great experience we had. We are so used to having it at home w/family and friends but due to circumstances both sides of our family were out of state, which didn't allow us to celebrate together. I was very skeptical about the quality of food, the service and the vibes. We had the BEST waiter/bartender named Theseus! He was very attentive from the moment we sat down. We are regulars at this location which is the one on griffin way, we like to come here because usually everybody is friendly and nice and we get great service. But for our surprise that did not happen Saturday night (01/24/15) we came like usual for Cadillac margaritas and a nice dinner... This server MARTHA gave us the worst service we've ever had in our life.. She is just rude not attentive seems she was on a rush to get us out of there... Needed refills and we were trying to get her attention but she was on her phone, Honestly I feel today was such a horrible experience I don't know if I would want to go back again because I don't want to get that kind of treat. On 08/28/26 we visited el Torito restaurant Poor service no napkins silverware had to ask for them and it took for ever to provide them We ordered water and it took 15 to arrive The chicken Mexican salad was missing some of the key ingredients tortilla chips pepitas and cheese, no flavor at all The appetizer guacamole arrived at the same time as the entrees. The guacamole was mixed with old chopped onions and it give to the guacamole a bad taste and smell ,we did not enjoy at all, The ambience was an other issue we were sitting down close to a big party that had kids screaming and yelling constantly Overall the experience was not good and we will never return again In addition there was a sub charge on the total bill and if I'm paying for this then the expectation is a minimum good service. My husband and I come here quite often and we always get Sofia as our server! She's is Amazing! Always so sweet and attentive! Honestly there have been so many times we have come in and Sofia seems to be the only one working... no manger in site to help her and she's managing the table, bar and bringing out the food. One time we watched what appeared to be a manager outside with 3 other employees just decorating for a holiday and Sofia was the only one working with no help at all! They better give this girl a raise cause she is a one women show! If you get her please be patient especially since nobody backs her up! We only come back to this location because of her! The booth here at Lazy Dog was perfect! We got our menus and began looking until our server approached us. He introduced himself, his name was Javier, and asked us if this was our first time, to which he replied that yes it was. He explained the menus we were given and took our drink order while we reviewed the menus. Since it was happy hour, we tried their buffalo wings and Tangy BBQ Chips to start. I did not take pictures of those items and wish I had. The happy hour items we ordered were delivered by the Manager, who was very nice and chatted with us briefly. She welcomed us as first timers and that usually sets the stage for us when the manager interacts with the customers. The wings had a nice flavor and the chips were definitely addicting. My husband asked for a dipping cup of the high altitude sauce (Javier said it was their hottest) and that was a pretty good sauce with good flavor. To drink I had a Strawberry Citrus refresher, and it was actually really good. Husband had a regular Michelob Ultra, and had no complaints. We both chose food items from the menu, under the $15 Fireside Favorites. You get a choice of an entree and desert. Husband chose the fried chicken dinner with an extra piece of fried chicken and I chose the fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp. The food was good, I enjoyed my fettuccini Alfredo which I'm usually picky about. The husband was a little thrown off as he thought the chicken was going to be like bone in fried chicken, and in the end he said it was good regardless. For desert, he got the S'more Brownie Sundae and I got the Banana Pudding. I was sold on the banana pudding, as was my husband. We ended up finishing my desert and took his brownie home (which got eaten later during our movie at home). I have to say, I'd definitely come back.
