Haven't been to an El Torito for quite a while. We had originally planned on going to Claim Jumper but the wait was 1 3/4 hours on a Monday night so opted to go across the street to El Torito. The place was pretty empty for dinner hour. Now I can see why. We were greeted nicely by the hostess and seated in a booth. Our waiter, Zach, was great and very attentive. Brought my Margarita, only $3 tonight a good deal. Husband had to send the coffee back because it wasn't hot enough. Then when his dinner was delivered he had ordered no rice & double refried beans. Of course there was rice so it had to be sent back. My order appeared to be fine but after the first bite, I said this is cold, so I sent it back to be re-heated. When my Husband;s dinner came correctly the second time, it too had to be sent back, it too was cold, even the cheese wasn't melted on the enchilada/ Wouldn't you think that should have been a clue to someone in the kitchen. Zach kept saying he was sorry. Not his fault. He tried to offer us free dessert but no thanks we'd had enough. Zach gave my husband a 20% discount because he is a veteran & tomorrow is Veteran's Day so that was nice. About the only nice thing of the mel. I sure hope the next time I try a El Torito it is better than this one & Corona El Torito you won't be seeing me again. Good Luck if you go there you've been warned. read more

Here is the bad along with a little good: My Mother, Sister, and I experienced mostly terrible service. We spent most of the time asking "who is our server? where is our server? where is our food? why did 2 other tables who arrived after us receive their food first?" When we finally got our food, half of my food was cold. And the specific dessert my sister ordered (which is the main reason she wanted to come here) was so disappointing. Having to ask for extra syrup just so it wouldn't be so dry shouldn't happen. But I will say this: The (first) server was nice enough to accommodate my needs, as I had just had dental work done and could not eat hard shells or the chips. So she was able to bring out tortillas so I could enjoy the salsa and guac with my family. ALSO - little tid-bit to the (second) server: If someone asks for change - bring change broken down. Do not bring 2 five dollar bills. Did you expect us to leave $10 because you didn't break a five? We were forced to not give at least an "okay" tip due to that not happening. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. My girlfriend and I stopped in to grab brunch this past Sunday 11/06. First and foremost the gentlemen making the vegetable fajitas/working the deserts table was extremely rude. I walked over to grab some desert and at this location you can't serve yourself so I asked for flan, arroz con leche, a churro, and waffle. He grabbed all of it with a disrespectful ass attitude and forgot the flan when I asked again he handed my plate and told me " wait a sec" and went to go make whole ass meals for customers who walked up to the station. The flan was right in front of him already cut literally he just needed to put it on my plate but no wanted to make me wait. He then ignored me standing there like I didn't exist so I just went to go sit and eat the desserts I had. Now the topper of what was supposed to be a nice brunch. My server was terrible barley checking on us forgot to bring us our omelettes we ordered and then when we gave her our card to pay she rushed back to the table not looking at us handed us the receipt and a CUT IN HALF debit card !!!!! My card was not chipped or pealed nothing. She didn't even have the decency to say it right away while handing us it if it was an accident. Then a manager came to the table who happens to be a bald fat disgusting idiot. He yelled at me saying my card was chipped but ( my mother raised me better than that) I ordered for him to take care of my bill and that this was extremely unprofessional. He only took off one of the brunch charges which is now ridiculous considering they include mimosas that I didn't even have. The food was subpar. This really sucked for me considering el torito is a brunch place Iv always loved going to as a kid. I'll stick to every other location besides this one. SMH y'all are 30-50 years old working there sorry you couldn't do better in life the least you could do is better with the job you do have. SMH read more

Awful service here. Came on a Saturday afternoon and had an awful experience. The waitress with the Chola nails was so rude and passive aggressive and bothered by everything. She tried to be cocky and not write our order down and still managed to get it wrong. We ordered two margaritas and only brought one. Ordered some enchiladas and brought a burrito. We had to show the server the menu and repeatedly say we want the Barbacoa enchiladas after she got our order wrong and the server kept saying beef? Like how many times do we have to say barbacoa? Like give us what we're asking for that's literally on the menu. The place wasn't even busy and you can't get it together? Will not be returning here. read more

Really horrible experience! People at reception are horrid. They are poor equipt to give basic information to customers. There is no signage or info that it is buffet only, I cannot eat at a buffet at this time. The manager while nice doesn't have any answers for his staff. Came in tonight for Happy Hour. Sat down. Waited 12 minutes. Not a single acknowledgement. No "We'll Be right with you", no "I'll be right back to take your order", no nothing. 2 different Waitresses and the Bartender walked right past us without as much as a look. One of the waitresses was, however, chatting away with one of the customers at the bar. We walked out, and I complained to the Hostess, who replied "It's because we only have one person working on the bar area." Really? No.1: I counted 3. And No.2: That's not the customer's problem! This was my first time at an El Torito Grill and I had a great experience. The bartender, Jersey, was absolutely amazing!! She was so sweet and was very attentive to our table. The food was great and mimosas were so good. My glass was never empty, which means a successful brunch in my book! The only thing really unpleasant was listening to the bartender/waitress name Jersey. She was really unprofessional and disrespectful to another costumer who decide to move from the bar to a table. This bartender/waitress got really UPSET that she didn't care to speak out her thoughts and start calling this person names of course the costumer wasn't aware.
