This is one my favorite Mexican Restaurants! I use to frequent this particular El Torito when I was much younger. It was delicious then and even more delicious now that I'm older (46yrs). Be it that it's in a shopping center, when inside you don't get that feeling at all. Today our Waitress was Rosa and she made our visit that much more enjoyable. She made sure that our food came out hot and the kitchen did an awesome job keeping the taste that I remembered. I ordered the Burrito Especial still THE BEST THING ON THE MENU lol lol! If I could rate this 0 stars I would! If my waiter isn't Armando I get the worst service ever. I would always frequent the location on Sepulveda but unfortunately it closed down. I use to frequent this location before but the service decreased in value. I decided to go in today hoping Armando was my waiter but he was on the opposite side with the buffet. When we walked in the gentleman did not even acknowledge me I waited around roughly 5 mins for him to take my name down. What a joke. The girl I got was beyond terrible no silverware, no napkins and got my order wrong. They were rather busy but it was manageable. She was extremely rude and towards the end she decided to change her attitude. The gentleman who brought the food to our table was the best interaction I had. Visited this location for dinner on a Monday night. Service was adequate and food was satisfactory. This location was not quite as nice as others. The restaurant seemed to be empty, yet the service was very slow. The appetizer was timely, but the rest of the food took about 30 minutes after ordering to arrive. We ordered the nachos with steak as an appetizer, which was good. Entrees were the sizzling enchiladas and combo plate which were okay. And flan and cheesecake to go for dessert. I used to be a regular at El Torito's and recently went back. Apparently they have adopted a new billing system. My server was carrying a iPad looking device that he showed me my bill. Very small cramped bar area in the middle of the resturaunt with one so-so slightly to small TV. This is also the only el torito I know that automatically serves the margaritas frozen instead of on the rocks. This doesnt really fly with my as I need some POW in my drink, I mean really why else would I be drinking lol. because of the way the bar is built the noise of the guy making the frozen margaritas really overwhelms your convos. My husband and I wanted to order pickup tonight. Went on their website to order (that they push)- they do not accept AMEX cards, and is difficult to maneuver. Example: When ordering a combo pick any 3- will not allow you to pick multiple of an item. They also force you to pay in order to actually place the order. Because they didn't accept AMEX online, I was forced to call. I called at 8:06 and spoke with a gentleman (unfortunately, none of my experience includes names as they were not mentioned or we were so fed up by the end of the night, were not noted) who took my order. I ordered: Tableside guacamole Combo pick any 3: Cheese enchilada, 2 crispy tacos 1 extra (note, extra) pint of salsa for $2.99 1 small BAG of chips, plus an extra small BAG of chips 1 a la carte sweet corn cake I asked this man the ever important question- should I expect chips since I am ordering guac? He says, "Yes. It comes with one small BAG of chips." I told him that's fine, but I would like an extra bag of chips (he did not mention any charge for this) plus an extra salsa (which in asking, he told me would be $2.99.) He stated the order would be ready in 10-15 minutes. My husband left our place which is about 3 minutes away. He arrived at 8:25. This would be 19 minutes since the original call at 8:06. He advised them he was there for a pickup order, and they looked at him like he had 3 heads. No record of the order. They searched around, then asked what he ordered, and finally found it, and said she would be back in a "few minutes". She disappeared. He had to wait an additional 20+ minutes for the order. No apology was given. When he finally got the order, there was no salsa, and a styrofoam to-go container of chips. My husband asked the manager (older man, in his 70-80's) if that was all of the chips he got with a NINE dollar guacamole. He said yes. We received none of the salsa we were told we were going to get, had to pay an extra $6 for 2 pints, the $9 guacamole bowl was half full, and we had to pay another $4 for a bag of half full chips. Will not be ordering or patronizing this location again. No apology for the wait, order was not complete. read more

Came here to catch up with my childhood friend and have a few drinks. It's located in a shopping center with a Ralph's, CVS, Beauty Supply and 99 center store. There's tons of parking, it was early noon around 11:40am. We were seated right away as the place was pretty empty, our server was Sandra she was polite and prompt she checked on us often and after the second round of drinks she suggested a new drink the El Dueno Margarita that's the one I've been looking for it's $15.99 but worth it! The food was good and plenty, also now they have the card machine that comes to your table I thought that was pretty cool, I've never seen one at an El Torito before. Visited El torino on 10-13-20 and they're under heavy construction. Outback dining only of course. I ordered to go the fajitas combo dinner; shrimp, chicken, and beef steak, the cost $26.00. I happily took my meal and just before getting in the car something inside me said check it. To my surprise I had some watery black beans in a small bowl that was tasteless. On to the main meal that included a very small amount of rice, tiny bit of chicken, even smaller amount of shrimp and beef. I explained to the waitress that I got this meal before and it's my favorite. I warned her to let them know not to be skimpy because I know the dinner is much larger than the lunch special. Well I had to take it back and the manager added a few more shrimp and beef. The experience was very disappointing that only gave me a lunch meal but paid for the dinner. I wouldn't go to this establishment until after renovations and vaccine is in place because it seems as though most restaurants are practicing shady customer service tactics to ward off the effects of covid, but they're not realizing at the cost of faithful customers. Dumb business management - well your customers will remember in the future and will their business elsewhere. The owner added a little more food, but he was very unapologetic and almost used to doing it for customers that complained of the meal portions. Especially nowadays your have to eat at reputable eateries that will not allow covid to undermine their business integrity and the only few customers they have left. Bad management and young hostess with bad attitudes. You must remember that the whole country are trying their best to cope this health crisis. Customer service is all you have left to beat the odds. It's supposed to come with nopales They were super thin and small pieces of nopales. Beans were good. Need to step up outdoor dining and the employees just forget about you. This was the worst experience I have ever had. My family and I had decided to dine here after attending a wedding and we were quick to be seated and they took our orders quite fast. It went downhill from there. We never got our drinks until after the food came and it's like they decided to give us what they wanted. We ordered a burger with no bacon, onions and other condiments and they did the exact opposite. My order came out wrong as well and they never gave me another order. They claim to say they're busy with the takeout orders and I understand, but please manage the ones who choose to dine in as well :( read more

Had dinner with the family and although my son ( and probably the entire family) prefers the location in Manhattan Beach, our server Rosa may it all worth the while.
